Shooting a long time lapse (8 - 10 hours) on an old camera (Canon 5D Mark ll). Camera has latest firmware but will not read or format the 256GB. Tried deep formatting on my laptop and still camera will not read. Clearly the camera is too antiquated for this size card. Would be helpful if B& H provided camera compatibility info for each of the different memory sizes. Yes, all of these cards will fit the Mark ll but what is the maximum size memory the Mark ll will actually be able to read? Not a lot definitive info out there. Hoping I can return opened cards. Very expensive mistake.

This is not my first Sandisk product. I have several Sandisk SD cards and one Sandisk 128gb CF card. No problems with any of them. On a recent trip to Yellowstone National Park, I did, however, run out of memory on my 128gb CF card. Too mays geyser videos I suppose. I opted to upgrade to a new 256gb Sandisk CF card. I have not been sorry, as it functions flawlessly every time I use it. If there was anything that might be considered a problem with this card, it is the fact that neither of my two card readers would read the card. I upgraded to the Sandisk Imagemate All In One USB 3.0 card reader and no more problems. I am extremely pleased with this 256gb CF card, as I have been with previous Sandisk cards. It's always painful to buy the newest, fastest card out and this one is no exception. Having just bought the Canon 5DM4 though, I needed the capacity & speed for the 4K video file sizes and write speeds. Excellent performance on the video front and you can shoot thousands of stills and never fill it up. The controllers on these cards do have superior performance for a price. If I were just shooting stills though, I'd recommend several smaller capacity cards (same brand & extreme pro) so you can swap out cards often and not have all your images on the same one. That being said, I've used Sandisk CF cards for over 12 years now and have never had one fail me.

I bought this card for recording RAW video on my 5D Mark iii, and it certainly delivered. The card ran smoothly and stomached all of the large MLV files I threw at it. The write speed is great, and the storage capacity is great. I've made a point of sticking with SanDisk in the past, and I will continue to!
I love the speed of these cards. I do a lot of bird photography with an emphasis on catching birds in flight. That means I am usually shooting at very high frame rates and often in long bursts. With these cards, I can shoot several hundred frames in a burst without worrying about whether the camera will get bogged down. Plus, two of these cards in my Nikon D5 will let me shoot 5.4 thousand pictures in the raw format. Even on the busiest of days, I'm not going to shoot that many shots. So I never have to worry about running out of space. Finally, they're extremely rugged. I accidentally dropped a camera while using these cards from a great height. The camera, the cards, and the images on the cards all survived without any problems.

I have purchased from B&H for over 20 years. Their stock is always genuine and fresh. Unlike big A company out there, who has a lot of returned items circulating in their supply chain mixed with non genuine stock, I trust B&H in selling me the genuine article fresh from the factory.
During the the film era, you always had to very mindful of how many shots you had available. But with this card there is no concern. I have the ability with a freshly formatted card to capture over 9,000 images on my Canon EOS 7D mark II. This is a great companion to the battery grip. No longer will I miss a shot due to running out of storage. Since I tend to operate 10fps this becomes very important.No more: should have, could have, would haves.... :)
My Canon 5D ii wouldn't format this. I called SanDisk who said the camera was compatible and that I must have a defective part. Same deal with the replacement. At this point, I did some research and discovered that there was a firmware update to allow the 5D to use 128gb and 256gb CF cards. I installed this and.... same problem. In the end I formatted the card using my Mac and the camera seems to read and write to it. The only issue now is that the camera is showing 999 available shots. I'm guessing it can't handle a four digit number. In the end, it's just more confirmation that the Japanese camera manufacturers can't write software to save their lives!
I use a canon 5D mark 4 mostly for videos, I been using SD cards but lately they freeze. I opted compact flash to record videoclips, it records smoothly, I currently own 6 CF.Do I recommend them, Yes. Not the newest technology, but it is very trusted memory.
i have no problem using these sandsik CF cards . these work great and i never had any fails with sandisk.. my only complaint is why canon bodies uses these .and i have 4 . they are still very expensive now in the year 2022... where SD cards have dropped in costs .. which makes me drop a star ..tip - for all who read my review ,, if a higher capacity card does not work in your camera ,, a firmware update for your camera may fix it ..
