I have never have a problem or failure from a Sandisk product and this one was no exception. I have heart failure and need to have meds and aspirin with me whenever I'm away from home, so I put together an Altoid Tin with essentials. This thumb drive is perfect in size and capacity to have all the documents, emergency phone numbers and forms of identification that may be needed if my heart fails while I'm out and about. It is the perfect size for the USB player in my vehicle stereo as well, so I bought more than one.

Flash drives, unlike hard drives, are more durable primarily because they have no moveable parts like their big brothers. The combination of portability, durability, speed of data access, and the built-in drag and drop plus standard Graphic User Interface (GUI) file saving/transferring technology of this paticular flash drive make it the best option to transport and protect important information and program code. This state-of-the-art top of the line SanDisk, with its incredibly large 128 GB storage specs and its phenomonal USB 3.0 super fast speed, leaves all competition in the dust. Great little USB stick. Short review: Very compact, Fairly fast read/write speeds, Reliable. Want more info? Read on: USB 3.0 means fairly fast file transfer speeds when writing to it. I have had the 64gb one for a while and it has been very reliable so when I spotted a 128gb one for under 20 including postage it wasn't a tough decision to make. It's physical size is both a plus and a (minor) minus. It barely protrudes from any USB port, so it not prone to being knocked out/disconnecting, but can be a bit fiddly to remove as there isn't much of it to grasp. Also locating it in a pocket or bag can be panic inducing as it's so small that it isn't easily spotted/felt. It can get a little toasty as there isn't much of it to dissipate heat, but I have never experienced any stoppage or noticeable thermal throttling. If you have a work computer with limited storage that is in and out of a bag all day these are great as you can leave it in place rather than connecting/removing every time. I DJ from a laptop and often space is very limited and things get jostled, so thisis great for expanding the library of tunes available without having a regular size USB hanging out the side to the laptop in harms way. Recommended if you want a dependable, compact, storage option.

So far, this is proving to be a pretty good thumb drive. I got it for the sole purpose to use as an ubuntu boot drive. Took a bit of work to get the software all working how I wanted, but none of the issues were due to the drive. This is far faster than some older 8GB geeksquad drives I had. I wanted this one because it's fast and very short, so it doesn't stick out as I plan on keeping it connected to the laptop all the time. Unfortunately, the laptop is USB2 only, so it can't leverage the speed of this device fully. It still reads faster than older USB3 drives I was using. When I wrote everything to this drive, it was via a USB3 port on my main desktop. I believe it transferred/wrote data around 40MB per second. The files I copied to it were around 6GB total and it didn't take long to copy things repeatedly. It was also very fast to copy from. After setting up ubuntu and getting everything situated, I copied the entire drive to a folder on my main pc as a backup. I went through this process 4 or 5 times before I was satisfied with my setup.
I like that little flash drive. It`s invisible on my little laptop. I can put my laptop to the case with the installed USB drive. I really like that. I have 5 pieces now! and I`ll buy more!
Good Points: * Great performance for its product class,* Good value for money as a regular grade everyday product,* Ideal for "leave in" usage if expanding storage in an Ultrabook or similar,* Unaffected by knocks, drops and vibration compared to hard drives,* For advanced/Linux users: May serve as an economical alternative to an SSD for use as a system drive, which may improve performance and reduce power consumption.(N.B: Ensure the drive is NOT used for swap space or pagefiles else lifespan will be greatly reduced. Use of USB sticks as system drives is not supported in Microsoft Windows or MacOS.)Improvement Points: * Small physical size (About 15x20mm) may make the product easier to lose or misplace,* Design protrudes about 5mm each side, and may impede ... MoreGood Points: * Great performance for its product class,* Good value for money as a regular grade everyday product,* Ideal for "leave in" usage if expanding storage in an Ultrabook or similar,* Unaffected by knocks, drops and vibration compared to hard drives,* For advanced/Linux users: May serve as an economical alternative to an SSD for use as a system drive, which may improve performance and reduce power consumption.(N.B: Ensure the drive is NOT used for swap space or pagefiles else lifespan will be greatly reduced. Bought this for my wife's car as a music store hoping to merely copy all the mp3 files I already have on it. Slightly dismayed to find that the new car rejected it as not being readable. Doing some research reveals that drives this big are by default, formatted to "exFAT" and the car was looking for FAT32. As Windows has no native means of reverting this to FAT32 without a lot of fiddling around, I opted to use another smaller (32gb) drive which worked obviously with less music on it. However, that's not the Sandisk drive's fault but it's worth noting in case that's what you were planning to use it for. p.s I found no use for the security software pre-installed so got rid of it.
I paid a bit more to get a quality flash drive because I wanted it to be a permanent plugged-in storage device for my laptop. There were cheaper options, but I guessed that I could rely on SanDisk. That has paid off because it's first class and does the job perfectly. It's also very small and discreet, so it sits neatly on the side of my laptop without getting in the way. How on earth can they store so much stuff on a thing that's so tiny? Anyway I'm very happy with the product and would recommend it. Having tried cheap USB drives in the past and found them faulty or unreliable, I do recommend using a quality product. What's the point of storing things on a drive that's going to lose them?
I've gotten this style of drive in the past. I like it, because of its compact size. I used this one to watch video files on my Blu-Ray player, and don't have to worry about bumping into the drive. I had to reformat it, due the file limitations of FAT32. That was no problem, and it works fine. My only complaint, gripe if you will, is that it is lacking the cover for the drive, that previous versions included. I know it's a small piece that could easily be lost. But, I like the idea of having the exposed portion of the drive protected, when I'm not using it. If that's not a concern, then you should purchase and enjoy using this drive.
I started buying sandisk cruzer fit years ago and found that these ultra fit drives are even better. The drives do get warm when transferring a lot of data, but in a 3.0 usb port, the files move right along rather quickly. I actually packed a bunch of music files and a playlist on one and have it plugged in the vehicle as a never ending steam of jams. I was glad to see that there was a larger size that I could get to replace my every day carry in my pocket. The Kingston HyperX I used to carry around was nice, fast and 128GB, but it was also rather fat. This thing performs just as nicely in a package that is close to 1/8~1/10 the size. If you have fat fingers or a packed up row of usb drives in a row of ports, it might be a bit difficult to pull it out of the port as ... MoreI started buying sandisk cruzer fit years ago and found that these ultra fit drives are even better. If you have fat fingers or a packed up row of usb drives in a row of ports, it might be a bit difficult to pull it out of the port as it doesn't stick out very far. But you can string a piece of fish line through the eyelet in it to help you extract it when the time comes. In fact, I like the idea that it isn't sticking out much in the car as a person could accidentally 'whack" it and break it if it did. In all, I like this drive a lot and will continue to get this type as the capacities continue to increase. Maybe one day I will see a terabyte of data that I can carry around in my pocket at the same size. But for now, this is a nice size and the performance is quite adequate.
