Best Nintendo Switch Memory Card

I recently purchased the SanDisk Extreme 1GB SD card, and I have to say I'm very disappointed with its performance. While the packaging boasts up to 190 MB/s read and
130 MB/s write speeds, the actual results I got were nowhere near that. After running a few tests, the best read speed I could achieve was only 79.58MB/s, which is less than
half of what was advertised. The write speed was slightly better at 83.65MB/s, but still nowhere near the claimed speed. For a card that's supposed to be "extreme," I expected
much better performance. The slow speeds make it difficult to transfer large files quickly, and it's most definitely not suitable for use in your Steam Deck, high-p... Show more

If you're buying this card, I do recommend to keep it in your device permanently, until you actually go to replace it with a larger capacity card. Remember, MicroSDXC cards are extremely small and fragile (about the size of a finger nail), so it's very easy to misplace them and lose them, or even damage them.... Show more

Card does not work
29 September 2022
Card was recognized as 1TB but no data could be written to it, nor would it format in Windows, Mac or any of my devices.Windows would give an error indicating the card could not be formatted. Trying the SD Formatter utility, the Format would seem to succeed, but If I tried to write a file to it later, the file would seem to be written - however if I ejected and then re-inserted the card, the file would not be there. Eventually, an error would be shown.MacOS would actually hang during the formatting process, requiring a reboot. My Steam Deck would get stuck on rescuing followed by an error. Trying the KDE Partition Manager in desktop mode, I would get errors as well saying the device was busy.My Switch simply indicated that the card could not be used.I have ... MoreCard was recognized as 1TB but no data could be written to it, nor would it format in Windows, Mac or any of my devices.Windows would give an error indicating the card could not be formatted. It's A Sandisk, So Of Course It's Going To Work!
15 August 2022
I needed a big memory card for an DAP that I purchased and chose this one. Originally I was going to buy this card from another big online retailer that starts with an A, but after reading the reviews I found that some of their suppliers send out counterfeit cards that either don't work, or they don't have the advertised storage capacity. Having dealt with B&H in the past, I knew that I would not have to worry about this problem with them. The card works great and is the correct storage capacity. I am very happy with this purchase. Thanks B&H!... Show more

Not thrilled
21 August 2022
I bought this because my hard drive was nearly full and I wanted to shift some stuff that I don't use much to my SD slot which is never used. I had a fee hundred GB to copy over, and most went OK, but some files would not copy no matter what. These are all files that had been backed up to external hard drives numerous times, so I know the files are OK. I can't prove that it's the card's fault, but it did not go as well as expected. That said, it seems to be OK for storing my extra stuff and accessing when needed. The speed isn't quite what I hoped for, but for my purposes, it's not a big issue.... Show more

Perfect for the GoPro Hero 10
20 April 2023
I bought this for my GoPro 10 and it works perfectly at all resolutions and frame rates. Haven't had any issues. If you have an action camera that records in high bitrates up to 100 mbps, or any camera for that matter, then this card will get the job done. I haven't tested it with bitrates faster than this, but at least I know it works fine for action camera footage. In conclusion, if you're a GoPro user, then this is worth buying. 5 stars.... Really fast and convenient. You won't regret.
24 May 2023
I picked one up on sale back when they were pretty expensive. They are ridiculously cheap now. It replaced external HDD, USB jump drives and other methods for transporting data. Never regretted it, had many uses and benefits. Still lots faster than my cloud transfers due to crappy AT&T service. Mostly copied data from wired connection at work to the card and used data at home. Faster use than many other methods.... Show more

Reliable, Largest capacity in this size so far
22 December 2021
I bought two of these. I actually use these for computer file storage because they are so compact and are very covert for portable applications. If you think about it, 5 of these stacked up is the equivalent of 5TB but in under the size of a few coins. It is amazing how far technology has come. The quality is outstanding as usual -no corrupted files, transfers quickly, gets heated when writing very large quantities for a bit of time, but I rarely do that so not an issue. They do seem to keep cool enough to maintain the higher speed so that is good. Remember, to get the best speeds, you need the right readers, usb cables, and ports. This all works together. Our new Mavic 3 Pro three camera drone and RC Pro controller can handle up to 2T size micro SDXC cards, so we had to test this SanDisk Extreme V30 one terabyte card. It's amazing to have so much rapid access memory in the bird at all times. Playing back on the MacStudio Ultra, the card performs as well or better than any were tried, so top marks on playback performance. The price point of ten cents per gigabyte makes it a super good value....
