I recently purchased a Canon Mark II DX1 with 4K imaging. We needed a fast, high quality card in order to capture the details we wanted for this camera. After doing some research, I wanted to purchase a CFast card instead of a Cflash card. Our first SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB 515MBs card is great Gives us a great picture and is light speed. We went ahead and ordered a backup card. For 300 we expect this product to work every time. That wasnt the case. The second SanDisk Extreme Pro card has already crashed while transferring footage 3 times already. It will say you have a corrupted file then it ejects the card improperly causing it to erase all of your data. I have two of the CFast cards 128GB and 64GB, with labels showing just the Read speeds. These cards need to be Sanitized using SanDisks Sanitizer app in order to remain reliable. I used SanDisk cards extensively since I got my first DSLR in 2003. But with SanDisks refusal to either come up with a Sanitizer app that will install on the current MacOS, or recognize a CFast card on an older MacOS, or replace my cards with newer CFast cards that do not require sanitizing, I would not buy any SanDisk products again.

Of course that ignored the fact that the same representative had been informed that on Sierra, the app would not recognize a CFast card that was mounted on the desktop. I used SanDisk cards extensively since I got my first DSLR in 2003. But with SanDisks refusal to either come up with a Sanitizer app that will install on the current MacOS, or recognize a CFast card on an older MacOS, or replace my cards with newer CFast cards that do not require sanitizing, I would not buy any SanDisk products again.
I purchased the 128GB Extreme Pro for my Sound Devices 633 MixerRecorder. When Im on location with long sessionsand often off of the gridproducers dont always bring a laptop to offload daily audio. If Ive flown in to the location everything has to fit in a small backpack and a small duffel bag so I cant always pack my laptop either to be totally honest as I dont like to check any of my media gear when flying. Even if a producer does bring a laptop and offloads daily audio I still want to be in possession of audio for the entire project until I can safely back up all files to multiple hard drives in my home studio in the event the client loses or accidentally deletes the projects audio files. I may give the SanDisk Extreme a 5 Star rating down the road if it proves to be utterly reliable as the Delkin and Hoodman cards.

have been shooting for 35 years, shooting digital since it was born. never had a card issue. in 30 days had 2 lexar cards corropted. thankfully i had purchased some recovery software to recover. threw about 400 worth of cards in the trash, so i would not be tempted to try again, now i shoot a CF Sd card for redundancy. shooting canon 5dsr. switched to 5DSRs in last 6 months hopefully not a camera or reader issue. use to shoot 1DS 1dx models. spend a ton of on camera glass to only cheap out on reader or card doesnt make sense.
I use my CF cards in a Nikon D800 and D700. Ive been using Extreme Pro cards for many years in a number of different iterations with never a problem. I like the heavy duty construction, the weather sealing and temperature range the cards can withstand. To me, the extra build quality justifies the price, and the speed continues to exceed my needs mostly still shooting, but with bursts of 8 framessecond on the D700. I bought a competing brand that was specd higher and was cheaper, and low and behold after one year it suddenly lost the directory on the card. I had to recover the files, which you may know takes many hours on a large card. So I bought Sandisk again and I trust this brand and model.

In a test, I did, it will take about 1516 images before the buffer stalls, using a SanDisk Ex Pro 64GB 95MBs, the other card I own. That means you must wait for the files to transfer to either the CF or SD before taking more images and In general it may take 1 sec or so before you can continue but I never actually measured that. The first time I went out with my Canon 7D M II, I went to bird sanctuary and recorded A Mix of birds in flight, birds in trees, birds traveling on the Lake, and landing and taking off from Lake in the course of two hours, I recorded 999 RAW images to fill this card, excellent card for this experience. Example Aircraft in flight all of a sudden see activity completely different than aircraft but wholes my interest and dictates I should record the images. I switched to the second card continue recording in raw till those activities do not require any more documentation then switch back to the main memory card continue Recording aircraft. In this test, the 160 MBs card was dramatically better While the slow card took 9.7 seconds to finish writing data, the 160 MBs card took 6 seconds. This means After shooting a burst, your 7D is ready for more photos about four seconds sooner if you use the 160 MBs card. This might be significant to some photographers. And, of course, copying 32 GB of data to your PC will probably be much faster with the 160 MBs card, as long as you have a high quality USB 3.0 card reader my Mac only has USB 2, so I could not test this.For my needs, I should have saved my money and purchased a 60 MBs or 90 MBs card, but I am going to keep this card and the old card will be my backup. No complaints whatsoever about this product, but my recommendation would be to buy an Extreme or Extreme Pro 90 MBs model for this camera.Final comments First, SanDisk has three kinds of Extreme cardsExtreme 60 MBsExtreme Pro 90 MBsExtreme PRO 160 MBsB H does a great job of letting you know which SanDisk card youre buying. does a poor job, with pricing and markings that dont make sense. I do not recommend buying this product from , because its hard to know what youre buying.I hope youve enjoyed my test results. If you have a different camera model, such as a 5D Mark iii, do not assume that your results will be the same. Different camera models have different CPUs, so your performance may be very different.
