I have an iPhone 12 pro max. A LIGHTNING CONNECTOR DOES NOT WORK!It works with Ipad that has a lighting connector. iPhone 12 pro max does not use a lighting connector!. How about a USB-C connector????I tried plugging in a lighting connector and it would SWIM in the connection on the iPhone pro max.It is one of those JOKES that keeps you buying connectors until you buy the RIGHT ONE.

I bought this a month ago and I found it to be slim ans stylish. It works well with my iphone and iPad. It works well on my Epson multi-function printer when I have to scan a hard copy and somehow get it into my iphone easily. It used to work on my Canon Multi-function Laser printer/scanner. Now it does not for some reason I am unable to figure out why it stopped or how to get it working again. Spent a lot of time researching it on the web and emailing Sandisk support. No help from Sandisk. For now I only scan on my Epson and then load the files to my iPhone or iPad. I don’t have anymore time to waste on trying to get it working again in my Canon. But — overall — very happy with this product and I would recommend it.

I bought this flash drive to get pictures off my iphone. I had over 6500 pictures and videos on my phone that were taking up space, and I wanted to put them on a flash drive. This just plugged in to my phone, then prompted me to download an app which I did, and then it started downloading picture and videos. It was very easy to use. The only hiccup was that because I had so many pictures, it took a very long time. Be sure to start with a full battery and do this at night before you go to bed. Your phone is not usable while the download is in place, as you have to stay in the app for it to work. This is a great product. It also put the pictures in folders by year and month. Now I have it plugged into an electronic picture frame and can enjoy looking at our pictures everyday.

High build quality! Survived the rain
19 April 2022

I had my 17yo daughter using this to clean off her phone before spring break. She couldn't find it after her final transfer. Thought all 15GB of photos and videos were lost. I found in the front yard after 3 straight days of steady rain. We tossed it into a sandwich bag filled with white rice and let it sit until we got back a week later. I was so surprised when I connected it and the disk mounted like normal. I couldn't believe. I've already had this for several year and it was well worth the cost. Only trouble I have had is recently the disk doesn't seem to know when files get deleted. it will say it's empty but have no free space available. Whenever I notice it, I just reformat and get all the capacity back. I have the 32, but will replace with the 64GB if I ever ... MoreI had my 17yo daughter using this to clean off her phone before spring break. She couldn't find it after her final transfer. Not iPhone compatible
16 September 2022

Not iPhone compatible. Tried it on five iPhone models with different versions. All five iPhones from friends had the same problem. The software crashes constantly and does not back up your information at all. Do not purchase this for an iPhone. Apple states that this drive only works on android and does not work for Apple. Was also told Apple does not have a thumb drive that is compatible for back up. Do not purchase this item if you are a Apple product

Reasonably satisfied with product with work around
7 January 2021

Notwithstanding the known and reported glitches, I am fairly satisfied with this product. I used it on an iPhone 7 to transfer photos onto my PC. The main “glitches” or issues pertained to the limited number of files one can transfer before the message “Operation Failure” occurs. I did, however, figure out a work around which consisted of: 1) Creating folders on the Sandisk first in your PC 2) Creating Albums on the phone and sorting out the photos by date [Example January 2021] 3) Copying the whole Album into the folder(s) previously created. The transfer process worked like a charm and I did not receive the error message again. I transferred on or about 50Gigs of data using the above noted work around method. Now the next goal is to be more diligent and transfer photos more regularly which will ultimately decrease the time taken in each transfer period. Lastly, the reason why I got a 64Gig device rather than a larger one was two-fold: a) Price b) Too much storage space would not encourage me to transfer data at regular periods. Hope this review helps.

Small, lightweight and easy to use for transferring pictures and videos
15 April 2020

The drive seems to be in working condition with the iXpand Drive app, which you need to install to use this drive on your phone. It arrived quickly, minus a few scratches on the drive it's in a good condition. I've noticed if you leave the drive in your iPhone without using it, it seems to cause what looks like an Iphone refresh as if its updating something (I don't know why this happens but I just take the drive out of my phone. Not sure if it also occurs whilst using it but i will try and update my review once I do) If you have a lot of pictures (Thousands lol) or videos on your phone it can take a min or 2 for them to load which can be a little irritating especially if you quickly need to transfer just 1 or 2 things. Overall I like the item, it's small, lightweight and easy to use for transferring pictures and videos from my iPhone to my PC which is why I bought it and it also has password protection which is nice.

Unreliable Waste of Money!
8 September 2021

I bought one of the 64GB models from target in-store. Not a full year after purchase, it just died. I began having problems where it would not be recognized on my computer but usually was usable after plugging and unplugging a few times. Same thing on the iPhone app. This got worse and worse until ultimately it was completely unusable and all data was lost. Luckily I backed it up bimonthly but all files That had not been backed up were lost. I tried extracting the SD card labeled "Ultra", and it's shady filesystem was not recognized on windows or Linux and it was not even able to be formatted and repurposed, though it probably was only as reliable as the drive itself despite being a SanDisk "Ultra" product. I bought another, same capacity but the "flip" model which has a silicone keychain ring. Not a week later, exact same problem. This whole fiasco costed me around $100 and many lost files. Also, (from what I could tell in the short period it actually worked), the User Interface iPhone app could definitely use some work. I even called customer service and after 30 minutes of being on hold, I was told that I had to go purchase some 3rd party rescue software for around $50-500 dollars! I would have tried to use the whole warranty option but I picked the drive up on a grocery run at target and I wasn't expecting to need it in under a week. Thanks, Sandisk and WD.

Uses up phones system data
25 August 2022

I bought the ixpand sandisk 256gb to transfer my photos from my iphone 12 to the flashdrive. I noticed while i was transferring photos onto the flashdrive my 8gb of free storage was being taken up by the flashdrive and with no way to delete them after. I bought this device to free up space within my phone, but it ended up consuming the rest of my free storage up, and didnt even finish transferring the rest of my photos

Very delicate -easily disconnects from iphone/ipad
19 August 2022

I have the 128gb version. I assume all the other capacity versions have the same issues. As a way to expand the capacity of a basic 32GB ipad this would seem like an ideal solution. However, a few issues severely limit its utility:1) The app is extremely basic. The drive can only be used with the app. It does annoying things like try to backup all photos etc without a means to stop, other than killing the app. The ability to use the ixpand like the way you use the iphone/ipad 'Files' app is not clear nor reliable (in my experience)2) More annoying, the drive disconnects extremely easily. Not physically - it is appears plugged in, but then the app loses connection to the drive, at the slightest touch. So this is very annoying if you are transferring a large file, or if you are using the camera feature (recording directly from camera to the ixpand drive). Usually, I have to kill the app, unplug the ixpand and then re-insert.
