Just purchased a 2TB SanDisk Professional G-Drive ArmorATD. I was pleasantly surprised to find the package includes both a USB-C to USB-C cable as well as a USB-A to USB-C cable as this was not advertised on the box.So I hooked up the ArmorATD to old Samsung Galaxy S10 5G running Android 12 using the C to C cable and when the USB icon speared on the upper left, I dragged it down to connect the device. I opened File Commander and it recognized the drive, but the S10 indicated it had to be formatted before it could be used on this device. So I clicked on the format option and it took about 10 seconds to format and assigned it a regular Windows-type device ID.I then opened File Commander and clicked on USB device and the ArmorATD showed up as a drive with the ... MoreJust purchased a 2TB SanDisk Professional G-Drive ArmorATD. The ArmorATD tore through the copy process in under 10 minutes with no errors and displaying copy progress, name and location, and percentage remaining for each file. Most of the filenames zipped by too fast to read. During the file copy the ArmorATD's white LED blinked. The entire copy process took under 10 minutes. I was holding the S10 in my hand watching the whole thing. Then I verified the 291GB copy was successful. This speed blew me away. My S10's total internal capacity is 512GB for reference. Don't try to have a tech directly transfer such a quantity of internal data from phone to phone as it may take hours depending upon their equipment.Another time I intend to check the transfer time for PC to ArmorATD and another random external drive to ArmorATD to determine whether this is normal or if I just got lucky with the combination of the S10 and the ArmorATD.

This drive did not show up as a disk in my PCs( I tried many so i'm sure it's the problem of the drive). I searched online and realized that I need a sofware called G-Technology Format Wizard to format it first. Windows default Disk management cannot format it. Posts online said the sofware pops up automatically when the the drive is connected, but mine did not. I found the website, but the software could not be downloaded by Chrome. I switched to Edge and it was warned as virus( it is from their official website). I ignored the warning and downloaded then installed it. It finally formatted the drive. Looks like everyone else have this software automatically installed. Hope this post can help those had the same problem.

My needs were: three-year warranty; reputable manufacturer; USB-C connection; and protection for minor bumps in transport for offsite backup. I think they were met.The cables appear to be of good quality with tight connectors. Speed was not a major criterion but is adequate.

Portable, rugged, fast, and easy to set up and connect to my Macbook. Increased my storage exponentially. It is lightweight, and the transfer speed is quick! With 1 TB of storage, it should take me a while to fill up this storage device! The rubber bumper means I can throw it in my bag and not worry about it breaking or getting damaged.
Firstly, these are formatted for Mac by default and will not work initally for windows.Must be reformateed for windows. Assuming you are OK with knowing how to do that. But of course there is zero information about that on the box or in the (laughable attempt at..) instructions. Now, reformatting is not a terribly tough job, but if you are (for example) using your work computers and do not have admin rights, good luck. So, plan to reformat the drive on your home PC or elsewhere BEFORE you really need to use it..Also note, this drive is NOT FAST. It is essentially an older technology 2.5 inch mechanical/physical drive. It might say USB C 5 Gbps and USB 3.1 etc.. but it will never actually deliver on those inferred speeds.Positives? This is a professional 1TB G-Drive which is rugged nd durable and can be carried on the go. The external hard disk drive has USB-C which copies files at 5Gbps for quick file transfer and storage requirements. It is USB 3.1 Gen 1 and Thunderbolt 3 compatible and the anodized aluminum enclosure provides strength and resilience to the HDD within. It is rain and dust resistance and has a crush resistance for 1000lb weight. It is ready to be used with Mac HFS+ and works well with Windows via reformat capability. A great handy ready to use HDD for every day use.
Great hard drive. It is very compact and light weight. It is a perfect hard drive for working on the go. It's fast and durable. I needed a external hard drive to back up my files from my computer. This has become my favorite portable drive . Its pretty fast and I’ve transferred a lot of data from my laptop, freeing up space and I have all of my important docs at my fingertips with lots of free space left over. The external edges are cushioned, has a rubber bumper to withstand a long fall onto a hard surface. It is ready to go with Mac and also compatible with Windows via reformat. The greatest feature for me is the USB-C connector which is very easy to use,The connector is also protected by a silicone cover that’s very easy to put on and off. Seems like a very good little bus powered drive, but as I can't judge its longevity I'm only giving it 4 stars. I've always had excellent experiences with SanDisk products, so I expect this drive to last a long time. I like the rubber protection casing around it as the drive is fairly small and thin, and could potentially be dropped easily. I got this drive to use as a backup clone drive for two different computers, which is why I got the 2 TB version. It was no problem at all to use with a Mac OS. I used the Mac Disk Utility to create the two partitions, and then used Carbon Copy Cloner to do the backups. It seems pretty fast, and I'm very happy with it thus far.
A standard 2TB drive in a bullet proof vest. This drive is built tough. A rubberized shockproof case which is also dust and waterproof. This is my 3rd external drive. A durable drive is what I wanted as it travels with me. The 1st two drives have identical backups of 200,400+ photographs and are locked in a fireproof safe.Comes with a C-to-C port cable. No special adaptor now needed.Downside is the bulk and weight of the unit. This won't be slipped into your pocket.
I received a few days ago the SanDisk Professional 1TB G-DRIVE and it the perfect Hard Disk Drive to save your most important files, data, pictures etc...In the package you will find the HDD itself and two cables, one USB-3, USB-C and one USB-C, USB-C. This is very handy because you do not need to buy extra adapters depending on your computer. The bring up is more than easy, just plug it!!! If you have a windows system or a chrome book you need to format the disk preferably in NTFS for very big files. The speed is there, it takes seconds to copy most of your files. The real big plus of this HDD is its robustness, it is not afraid of a bit of water or falling in the ground. It makes it ideal to save you most important data.I copy all my kids pictures and ... MoreI received a few days ago the SanDisk Professional 1TB G-DRIVE and it the perfect Hard Disk Drive to save your most important files, data, pictures etc...In the package you will find the HDD itself and two cables, one USB-3, USB-C and one USB-C, USB-C.
