the books were packed, shipped, and delivered within less than three days---very recommended service. they were also secured with a bubble wrap although i would have prefered them to be in a box. anyway, the other one had small dents on the top but nothing too serious. overall great products for very affordable prices :))

I’m staggered by the amount of detailed research, analysis and logic Harari draws on to enrich this comprehensive study of humankind. I read the final chapter first and found it to be the scariest chapter in any book I’d ever read. Having decided to read it from page one, I’m now up to page 259 and still going. My friend recommended it as our first book review item. We’re going to need a lot of coffee to keep us going through our respective feedback, as I’ve turned down so many pages is so far. Thanks to WOB, I can afford to buy copies of such interesting books at a third of the cover price.

Dr. Harari goes into detail supported by historical facts about the evolution of homosapiens and its supposed place as the pinnacle of evolution on this planet. He presents the latest paleological and anthropological findings which conflict with our current everyday assumptions about human evolution and human behavior. Further, Harari looks into the future of the human species and predicts what the next steps in human evolution are likely to be. All around 'Sapiens' is a good read which will change your current viewpoint of human progress and expand your consciousness.

If only everyone could read this book, they would understand the world in which we all live.If only everyone could read this book, they would understand the people with whom they share the world. If only everyone read this book, they would see the precious life that surrounds them.If only everyone read this book, we would dispel myth, dogma, and fictions that divide us.If only everyone read this book, we might have a cohesive story for humanity around which to build a future for all.Alas, it is but a dream, but at least I am a better person for having read Sapiens. In one word, it is enlightening.
Sapiens is one of the best written and concisely accurate books I have ever written. The author pulls no punches and backs up his facts with well researched and reliable references. There have been some negative reviews of this book and I can see why once I've read it. If you approach this book with a prejudiced view of mankind's development based on religious or non-scientific held assumptions, then the facts as presented will most definitely dent your preconceptions. The author has no other agenda other than simply presenting the facts of mankind's growth and development. He is neither for or against any set of beliefs or political philosophies, but he is not afraid to let the facts as discovered and presented speak for themselves. I am almost 65 years old and have been an avid reader all of my life. I have never come across a book that is as honestly straightforward with it presentation and description of its subject material. Be warned that this book is not for the timid or easily offended, but if you want to learn more about how we all have developed as species and society, then it is well worth your time. The rewards gained will far exceed the efforts you put in to digest this data. Besides, the author is often caught throwing a humorous curve ball at you that make reading this book much more enjoyable.
Sapiens is an eye-opening, must read book for any critical thinker.Be sure to also pick up Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow, you'll want to know more from this author.Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow* Two amazing books to share with anyone you love or care about.

Sapiens : A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari
Human history has been shaped by three major revolutions: the Cognitive Revolution (70,000 years ago), the Agricultural Revolution (10,000 years ago), and the Scientific Revolution (500 years ago). These revolutions have empowered humans to do something no other form of life has done, which is to create and connect around ideas that do not physically exist (think religion, capitalism, and politics). These shared “myths” have enabled humans to take over the globe and have put humankind on the verge of overcoming the forces of natural selection.
