I decided to take the EP4 on a 38-mile run on 04/27/2024 (strava.com/athletes/59684519). I’m a 26 year fan of Saucony. I’ve been running in these shoes since 1998, when I got my first pair of ProGrid Flex which were amazing. And I am a fan of the Endorphin series, especially the Pros which I switched to after Hurricanes were discontinued. There were some fit issues with the 2 and 3, very narrow and punchy on the pinky toes, which have been improved in the 4– although I still size up a half size to make room for my toes. The 4 also improved the quality of the upper, which is now stronger and tougher, where my big toe would break through the top after a few months hard use in the Pro 3. However I can’t give the Pro 4 all 5 stars because something is off with the fit around the ankle/top of the instep. The sole and carbon plate continue to provide cushy spring with every step, which my Middle Aged bones, joints and tendons appreciate very much! And for anyone else having the same issues with the fit at the top of the instep/ankle: if you use the extra set of lacing holes as well, it will help a little. It leaves your laces silly short, but your feet will lock in the heel better!

Excellent shoes, reinforced forefoot of the shoe Discourages, heel striking, the Speed roll Technology does wonders for The natural pronation of my feet. The slightly stretchy shoelaces encourage a tight fit that really feels cinches down on my feet and they don’t come untied. The tongue that folds over the knot of the shoelaces ensures that the tongue and the top of the shoe doesn’t work down during my run. These shoes are wonderful. I have already put 27 miles on them. The first 5K I ran was a new personal best by three minutes. I have used these shoes for gravel trail running, and treadmill running. Running in these as my race shoes compared to every day running shoes The run is effortless. Fitts true to size worth every penny. 10 out of 10 recommend

I purchased this color way of the Endorphin Pro 4 because I had a defect with my black/orange color way. Let me first give Saucony props because their “defect policy” was hassle free. All I had to do was show a picture of my defect of the show & provide a receipt. From there they provided me gift card to whereas I was able to purchase this neon volt color way.Now to the performance. I’ve been choosing to run in Saucony since 2022. Whether it’s a marathon/half marathon/10k or training they are my preferable shoe choice. I shoot more so for speed so the weight of the shoe is very beneficial to me. I’m also what runners would classify as a “toe striker” and the transference of force is practically unnoticeable when running in the Endorphins (speed or Pro). In the past I have used the original pro's, pro 3 and now pro 4. The original pros were a good shoe but very firm. Don't know about the 2's. Absolutely loved the pro 3's....had that balance of squish and pop. You could take it out for some easy runs and then for speedwork..... it felt so comfortable but fast as well. The 4's are good a good shoe. I like the slipper type fit and they are fast. They remind me a lot of the original pros in the fact that they are very firm. I would never use these for a marathon because they lack the cushioning that you need in the second half of the race. I don't plan on using these for a race but if I did, I would use them up to half marathon distance. If you like a firm shoe and like to feel the ground....this shoe is for you. But the tongue is attached, so when the laces are tight, it folds over itself. It's not uncomfortable, but it does require a bit of manual adjustment every time I put on the shoes. The stretchy upper and laces also require tightening a bit more than you would thing, but the fit is great once you get it dialed in.Performance-wise, the EP4 have the best stability and comfort of the many super shoes I've tried. I am so excited that I tried this shoe. I'm normally an "Endorphin Speed" girl, but I liked the previous model more than the newest model. I was hesitant to try the new Pros because I didn't love the Pro 3's.The tongue drove me nuts. It got sucked back into the shoe less than a minute after I put the shoe on...even before I started running. It made them very uncomfortable. They completely fixed this issue in the Pro 4. It is absolutely my new favorite running shoe. I love it so much that, even though it's more expensive, I'll probably use it for my everyday training runs (in addition to speed and race days). It's super springy & surprisingly comfortable. I didn't think about my feet at all during my 5 mile run yesterday.
The ride is great, but my second run in these resulted in a painful bruise atop my foot that required me to stop running for several days just as I was prepping for a race. In fairness, I had used an orthotic that may not have worked well in combination with this shoe. The shoes are good but they feel different than the P3 version.Personally, the shoe is a little narrow in the front, I would have liked them to use the same typeof Elite more open in the part of the fingers.The sensation at the 3:30 mpk pace is good but there is still something missing in energy return.The number was a little big on me, 11.5 compared to the previous one, but with some thick socks it was solved.I think it is a good shoe but it is not at the level of an asics sky+ or sky+ paris.I use them for training all week with an average of 100k, they feel good on training days of 30k or more.but I would have liked itReduce weight.More energy return.More stability in the front of the foot.

I figured it's just wear and tear but then more and more started coming off so that caused not to wear them as much. After wearing them about 20 times there is a small hole in the toe area and this shouldn't be. I'm a runner and I have brooks and hokas that I've owned much longer that barely show wear but these $225 shoes that I've owned a quarter of the time of my other shoes are already tearing. This is poor quality. These are fantastic running shoes, in fact my favorite running shoes and I understand they're super shoes but they should hold up better than this.
