Awesome shoes till they weren't

I loved the look, the feel and the comfort of these shoes. Problem with them was they literally started falling apart after the sixth time wearing them. And I'm not running them
rugged. All I ever did in these shoes was walk around casually. The treads on the bottom started wearing off and the blue foam sole started flaking away paint almost
immediately. Truly I was heartbroken because I loved these shoes. I got so many compliments on how cool they looked. If only they would've lasted. I was too far out on my
purchase to return them so I just donated them away. I wish I could get the exact same ones but durable enough to last a few years.

What is up with this shoe? I love the Endorphin Speed 3, I have apprx 750 miles on them. When it was time to refresh them, I chose this race branded version of the ES3. I am
not sure how two models of 'the same shoe' can be so vastly different. The overall feel is very off. The tongue material is different, the laces are different, and the shoe (to me
personally) does not respond the same. I've put over 100 miles on this shoe and have started to develop left knee pain and weakness, which has correlated to a shin splint
(which I have not experienced in 20 years). I recently went back to my ES3 with several hundred miles of wear and they are out preforming this new version Lon... Show more

These are the best of the Speed series so far. I'm wide-footed and over-pronate but managed to make the first Speeds work for me (sizing up 1/2 size and strengthening my
lower leg muscles). I went through 4-5 pairs, including running 2 marathons and a handful of halfs. Speed 2 didn't work for me - shape is too narrow and sole kept moving
during run. These Speed 3's are another level. They are probably wide enough for me to not have to size up. They are much much more stable than the previous models. I
didn't even like running on rough pavement with those, while I have run some easy trails with the 3s. I was going to try the Tempus's but I don't know that I really ... Show more

It does seem they made some tradeoffs: noticeably heavier, a little clunkier feeling, a little less energy/bounciness, but the gains in comfort, support, and the softer more absorptive ground feel are worth it for me. I'll note that they *feel* a little slower than previous models, but after nearly 100 miles, it seems my pace in these is pretty comparable to previous models (which is typically 15-30sec/mile faster than most of my other shoes).Anyway, I think they're great, hope they stick with the changes in future models.... Bouncy Benefits
10 April 2023
I love these shoes! I have been a dedicated Saucony shoe buyer for about 6 years now. I've had multiple versions of the Triumph and currently have the Tempus. I was getting near 400km on the Tempus and preparing for a 30km race (Around the Bay) and decided to get a new pair for the last long training run and race day. After reading several positive reviews, I landed on the Endorphin Speed 3, and glad I did. Very similar in the overall shape and fit to the Tempus, but having the full PWRRUN PB made a huge difference in keeping my legs from getting tired after cranking up the kms. They are definitely more "bouncy" than other models I have worn, which made things feel less stable at first. However, I did not feel any loss of control and they are definitely ... MoreI love these shoes! I have been a dedicated Saucony shoe buyer for about 6 years now. They are definitely more "bouncy" than other models I have worn, which made things feel less stable at first. However, I did not feel any loss of control and they are definitely comfortable, even if there is less padding in certain parts compared to other models.I noticed the benefits of the bounce (and the plate) on the hills, both up and down. Going up I felt a bit more forward-energy and going down, a friendly cushion bounce to catch the weight.Despite what I read in other reviews, I did not experience any tongue slippage, the laces were flat and pretty durable. They were comfortable out of the box and are great for me for short and long runs.My only pick would be the fact that there is less outsole tread than other models, making me think they may wear faster (I've run 900km in some Sauconys) or may not be as grippy in slick weather. But after 80km, there has not been too much wear (you can still feel the fine original "bumps" in the sole in most spots). Have not run in rain, but on wet ground with no issues. Definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to pick up their pace in long or short runs in comfort!... Show more

Downgrade from the Speed 2
26 February 2024
I really wanted to love the 3's but, to me, they are a pretty significant downgrade from the Speed 2's. I loved everything about the 2's (own 3 pairs), especially the 'pop' they delivered. The magic just isn't there for me in the 3's. Don't get me wrong, its still a good shoe but I found it to be a fairly big step down from the Speed 2's. I'm not sure why but after running in the 3's, my left big toe feels like I have turf toe. The toebox of the 3's is extremely roomy. I have wide feet and its almost a bit too much for even me. On top of that, there is more give to the upper material. I loved the snugger fit of the 2's. To me, the speedroll was more aggressive (which I loved) in the 2's and the 3's feel kind of 'flat'. I also find it just a bit harder to pick up the pace in the 3's due to the slightly softer midsole. Personally, I don't find the 3's to be as versatile as the 2's are for me. Yes, the 3's can still get the job done but I find them to be more like any of the daily trainers out there. The 2's are the holy grail for me as they felt pretty much effortless at any pace or for any type of workout. I really hope the 4's bring back the same magic that the 2's had because I dont think I will be purchasing the 3's again.... Show more

Excellent running shoes
25 December 2023
This is my second pair. They are bouncy, light, and fun to run in. Great for speed workouts and long runs, but comfortable enough for easy recovery runs too. My son runs in the regular width and they accommodate his wide feet well, while I wear the 2E, and I’m grateful to Saucony for finally making them in wide. I like the fact that they’re a little wider and more stable than versions 1 and 2. Some people say version 3 is not as fast as the first two versions, but that’s not my experience. I also find this version to be more durable than previous versions — my first pair of version 3 remained a joy to run in for around 500 miles, despite my running a lot of those miles on gravel. In versions 1 and 2, the rear heel foam became a bit lopsided after around 300 miles, ... MoreThis is my second pair. They are bouncy, light, and fun to run in. Fun fast and lightweight
6 November 2023
Just started up running again after about 6 or so years. I’ve been a runner for recreation never competitively. I be been running in cross trainers not realizing I needed running shoes. I ve been running long distances 15-18 miles training for a marathon. Putting about 50 miles a week in. I bout these along with 5 other pairs including Nike zoom Nike pegusis, brooks ghost 20 Thea are all cushiony shoes and are great shoes. I do like the saucony speed 3 the best for everything interval training, long runs, and races (3 so far 1/2 marathon 5k and 5 mile). I find my self lacing up the saucony speed 3 the most. They are the most fun to run in. Really enjoy them. In fact I gotta go because I’m lacing them up now and running out the door!... Show more

Still the best Super Trainer
10 August 2023
As usual, I did a lot of research before parting with my hard earned cash and the Endorphin Speed 3 kept coming out as top choice to plug the gap I had for a faster paced daily trainer. As I already have the Endorphin Pro 3 for racing and been impressed with that, I was pretty confident that I'd like this shoe. The first run was an easy 5 mile club run, a hilly mix of light trails and road on very tired legs after a big training block.First impression was how comfortable they were, no issues getting a good fit and they coped effortlessly with both the damp trails and the road. Inevitably for a club run, the pace picked up over the last couple of miles and, whilst they don't offer the carbon plate propulsion of the Pro 3s, the shoes were definitely giving me a ... MoreAs usual, I did a lot of research before parting with my hard earned cash and the Endorphin Speed 3 kept coming out as top choice to plug the gap I had for a faster paced daily trainer. Writing this a day later, my legs are in good shape due to the excellent cushioning despite weighing only 240g in my size UK9.5. Given the amount of exposed midsole and limited rubber, I was also impressed with how well they coped with the trails and there is no damage whatsoever. In summary, if you're looking for a daily trainer that you can use for pretty much anything from an easy run to faster paced work and maybe even races, the Speed 3 is definitely worth a look. having ,been released some time ago, there are also some good deals as well - why pay more!... Upgrade from Nike Pegasus
5 December 2023
I've been running on a Nike Pegasus 37/38/39 for about 3 years (5k's to half marathons), and wanted to try something new. I'm super happy with the Endorphin Speed 3's - so far they are a legitimate upgrade. I've used them on a couple of 5k's and a 9-miler mixing paved roads, dirt roads, and a trail. All of them were very comfortable. The sole absorbs rocks really well off road and has a solid bounce on streets. I hit a new PR in my last 5k. If reputation holds true, I expect to put 400+ miles on these. My color scheme (Echo Visiblue) is sick and really pops in person.Break-in: I did get blisters on my heels after my first 5k in these because I wore low socks. The Endorphins rub a higher spot on the heel than the Pegasus did, but they healed and now I'm adjusted. ... MoreI've been running on a Nike Pegasus 37/38/39 for about 3 years (5k's to half marathons), and wanted to try something new. Very good overall neutral running shoes
18 January 2023
Overall I'm enjoying training in these shoes. They have the right amount of support for me and yet feel quite light on my feet. I've only put about 100 miles on them so far, so I can't comment on their durability, but so far they've shown almost no visible wear, which is a great sign. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is the redesign from the Endorphin Speed 2, which was wearing for about a year before I got these, that removed the tongue slot that lets you run the laces through and keeps the tongue from slipping. I can't fathom why Saucony chose to remove that. Despite the more integrated tongue, the tongue on these shoes is very prone to sliding down, which I found uncomfortable. This was a change that it seems like Saucony designers either didn't think through carefully enough or didn't test thoroughly enough. There's really no good reason for this reduction in comfort on long runs. One other small issue is the laces themselves. Saucony, please never, every use stiff, round laces on running shoes! Such laces belong on hiking boots, not running shoes. They don't stay tied, no matter how tight I make the knot. Running shoe laces should be soft and flat to provide the best ability to stay tied during a long run.... Show more
