It's fit is not last 3 versions. It's more narrow, the arch area is tighter, the toe box is tighter/narrow and elongated. There is less space overall inside the shoeIt's disappointing. I've purchased at least 2 of the last 3 versions of this shoe and worn them each out. I don't mean they failed early - I mean I wore them every day for everything. Hiked , walked, ran, hiked mountains, swampy dog parks, garden, building projects, every season ran snow or shine, mountain biking, factory work on my feet all day, around town - they were my penultimate shoe. I would have worn them until the day I die.The previous ones were the perfect fit for me. Enough space in the toe box, roomy inside but too much, they fit like a glove out of the box and required no real break in ... MoreIt's fit is not last 3 versions. Enough space in the toe box, roomy inside but too much, they fit like a glove out of the box and required no real break in period. This model makes my foot feel like it hangs over the sides of the sole/squished the middle and the toes (making the arch feel a bit high), and there is a strange pointy toe area with extra space. The previous versions were a true work horse of a shoe - made for everything and anything. They could take a beating and hold up. For me, the fit was thr best of any shoe I ever wore.Maybe they want to turn the shoe into some more slimmed down running shoe? I don't know why. They make other shoes to fit that purpose. The lack of space in thr current model doesn't make this a shoe for extended wear or treks as it's rather tight. It fits more like a ladies shoe. Maybe for some people this is what they want (obviously not for me).I've purchased them and I'll wear them. Maybe they will break in/loosen up (at least the fabric portion). But overall I can see it being what past models were - which was glorious.

There are a lot of logging roads in my area, and I am very hard on my shoes. These stoutly built shoes are a perfect balance between cost and comfort, as I wear out my footwear fairly fast, and they last about as long as the more expensive models. I highly recommend them for a excellent training shoe, although they are a bit heavy for competition.PS. Day hikers, rockhounds, boaters, and anybody working out in the weather, and wanting excellent traction and dry feet should seriously consider these shoes. Great job, Saucony.

Truly waterproof! I steeped in some deep water in a ditch and my foot remained completely dry. Bring on Spring hiking. Love the fit also, I have a very high arch and narrow heels and need inserts in my shoes and these fit the bill.

This is a great shoe. I have had at least 5 GTX shoes and they have all provided excellent water protection. I run through a lot of wet grass in the warmer weather. And these are relatively affordable.
I have an old pair of excursions that I still wear. I had a week in the mountains planned. I knew I would be doing some hiking so I purchased this new pair. I have other brands of hiking shoes but not totally happy with them. This was the best decision I have made. These were so comfortable from the moment I first put them on. The fit was perfect. I wear a size 8, medium width which is what I ordered and they were great. Thanks Saucony.
Too narrow in to toe area. I have small skinny feet still too small in around top sides of feet. I wear a 5.5, this makes no sense. Pic is not really accurate . These are Gortec , so why narrow in the toe box area. GTX ride was not like this, Java the right size room.
As a transplant recipient, I’ve been running before transplant and now after my transplant with this style of shoe as a go to device to enable to me to challenge death and then to find a second opportunity at living. Starting in 2013/2014 I began preparing for renal transplant with this shoe attached to me like a twin brother. Although today shoe with more letters and a fancier title might seem to be a bit too much? For me it’s a perfect fit, both on my foot along with enabling me to challenge each and every road, trail, situation that I find myself in. I have put more than 10,000 miles of road running and walking on the style of shoe. It fits like a glove, and pays for every bit of its price when you learn that breathing is the greatest thing that you will ever ... I received my new Tr16 today just before I left for work. I inserted my inner soles and wore them for an 8hr shift. They are a lighter weight than my last pair and the toe box is a little smaller. I buy the womens 9 wide, but my next pair will be a 9.5 wide. They were comfortable though other than my toes being a little cramped. I have a lot of foot pain with other running shoes; not with these.
I have recently received this shoe, and only worn them twice. It is a good fit, but I don't think I can comment on performance yet at this time. I am hoping they will work well on Maine trails this summer.
I just purchased these to walk the dog. We walk daily. It's cold and wet where I live and I like the fact these are waterproof. They are extremely comfortable. I typically wear a 6.5 but sized up to a 7 so I can add a thicker sock for warmth. First time walking in them, it was like they were already broken in. I have a number of issues with my feet but these fit great. I do like the black + grey combo with the blue laces but they do look a bit masculine.
