These are just done right If you expect a lot of cushioning out of this shoe, you’re not gonna get it it’s not meant for that. It’s a fast low drop shoe for shorter distances and light. Well balanced and not a wide toe box nor a narrow one. I love everything Saucony and they just make running shoe that work right. Nobody’s perfect and in the past they’re sizing what a little off. But now they’re true to size. I have four pairs of there shoes right now. Soon to get another for rotation. Wish they’d make the endorphin in a 4 mm drop.

Ive had triumph 17' for the past couple years which are incredibly comfortable so when it came time to get another pair and the all black triumphs were sold out, i decided to switch up within saucony. i read really good reviews for the Kinvara so purchased my first pair. Honesty, upon putting them on i was immediately disappointed. The fit is smaller than the triumphs and the overally shoe is just not as comfortable. I am trying to get use to them but the moment i have the chance to order an all black triumph 17 ill be switching back. My recommendation to future purchasers of this shoe is to order a half size up from your regular size.

For the price point and the style, this model delivers. I’ve ran in the Kinvara 12 to prep for a marathon, and no issues - even on long days. I do have a history of running in high school, including a stint trying to go barefoot, and I will say that these shoes can be a bit demanding on your feet if you’re logging multiple long runs without a more cushioned shoe in the rotation. However, the 5-star review is deserved by this model and the 13 as well. Out of the box it felt like the same shoe. The upper mesh feels a bit more plush, and I preferred the Kinvara 12 tongue. Between the 12 and 13, I’d snag a 12 but find this to be a well-done rendition.

After wearing innumerable other running shoes, I have to say the Kinvara 13 is the first to feel like an absolute extension of my body. It is perfectly aligned w/ my foot strike, whether easy pace to pick-ups, it disappears. I do land mid-foot, and at ~130lbs I don’t really destroy shoes, but I usually feel the heel and the toe-off…. not in the Kinvara 13 (or the 12, for that matter). If it wasn’t for the cushioning - which is ample - it feels like I’m barefoot. I should also add, that over the last few years I’ve dealt w/ plantar fasciitis issues, periformis problems, and perineal strain. Obviously, I’ve been in the wrong shoe - either too much or the wrong last. The Kinvara has resurrected none of those issues. What a relief. The shoe moves w/ me - no superfluous ... MoreAfter wearing innumerable other running shoes, I have to say the Kinvara 13 is the first to feel like an absolute extension of my body. Thanks to Saucony for keeping it in the product line. I heard the Saucony design rep on Doctors of Running talking about the necessity of the Kinvara, and the light came on!
I'm a forefoot runner, and have struggled with higher stack shoes always fighting my natural gait too much. I bought these a few days ago, and the first test I gave them was my first half marathon. They didn't disappoint, they are flexible and comfortable with my usual gait, and if I fatigued a bit I could alter my gait, and my footstrike, without the shoes fighting me. Not one blister, or even hot soles, which usually happens on higher distance with most shoes. If you run on your forefoot. And are thinking of trying a more minimal shoe, give these a try!
The minimalist design of these shoes works for my running perfectly. I went from a heal striker to more mid-foot striker some years ago. Shoes with material felt almost like obstacles. I kept 2 pairs of these in rotation. Average running at about 120 km/month, these shoes held up well. The light weight uppers do degrade faster than other shoes I have owned, but by then I was moving on to new shoes. They are not good on icy conditions.
I’ve worn multiple pairs of the Kinvara 13s. They are by far my favorite running shoe, they just are the perfect fit/balance for a running/training shoe. My drawback is, the glue connected the sole is just weak. So is the fabric mesh on the side of the shoe. If I do any workout on a track, or when it’s wet or after it’s wet. a.) the sole slips around. Or b.) out of the 5 pairs I’ve bought, 3 of them have ripped (in the side mesh portion ) during a workout. All of which the pairs only had about 150 miles of light running on them. Saucony do you have an answer? Thank you for this awesome shoe!
I have been purchasing the Kinvara models since the "11" when I went back to semi-serious running, and this is my 6th purchase in the series. The reason I like the Kinvara models is that they are incredibly light yet offer very good support. They also fit me extremely well, often a problem when I am purchasing running shoes; the standard width is a little wider than most, but not too wide. Running in the Kinvara 13 (like its predecessors) is like running on air, great for an aging runner with hip and knee issues. The 13 is the best so far, with improved feel from the 11 and 12 in terms of fit and comfort. I use my older Kinvaras as casual multi-purpose shoes.
I received my replacement Kinvara 13 running shoes today after retiring my old pair of 420 miles. I was very excited to say the least as my old pair was now causing my feet to ache a bit. Opening the box I noted right away that it looked narrower than my old pair. I proceeded to do a fit and yes, it felt very snug and no room in the toe box. Using a tape measure, i measured across the width and the old pair measured 4-5/8" while the new pair measured 4-3/8". I read a recent review reporting a similar case but that was on a different color and since I had no problem with my pair, I paid no attention. I immediately got on the phone with Saucony and explained my situation. I have been running in these Kinvaras for more than 10 years starting with Kinvara 2. I hope I do not see the same issue with the new replacement. Just disappointed as I was looking to wear these shows on my run tomorrow and also have to come up with another $120 to get another pair before they receive the old pair. No consideration given here for my inconvenience. Looks like there is some breakdown in the quality process!
overall I'm pleased with this purchase. It is a peppy and lightweight daily trainer so far, and I anticipate it will be good for 400s and interval kilometers once my earlier foot injury heals. It feels unobtrusive and light on my feet. The size 10 wide is perfect, which is surprising coming from a Kinvara v11 in size 11 regular width. Overall it feels a lot softer than that shoe, and the mid-foot is less binding (owing to the more flexible upper and opting for the wide fit). Also the lacing feels more secure and less like it is digging into the top of my foot. The only weird thing about running in the Kinvara 13 is it feels like my toes are angled inward/toward each other, it's hard to describe, but the the word 'triangular' or just 'angles' pops into my mind.
The Saucony Kinvara 13 is designed to be ultra-lightweight. The shoe features a contoured footbed that was built for speed and flexibility. The footbed is contoured to the foot, also giving comfort and a secure feel. It’s mesh upper is lightweight and breathable with a traditional lace system to increase security of the shoe.
