I'm torn on these shoes. I've had them for a couple months, and I did keep them, but unsure if I'd recommend them. Definitely cute, like the little bit of a lift in the heel, love the colors (got the white ones with the gold). But the materials seem cheap, I didn't find the shoes particularly comfy, and the sole is extremely rigid instead of flexible, so I don't find them great for long periods of walking (through airports was fine) and certainly not for running. I did have to rip out the insole that came inside (glued down) in order to fit my arch supports in there, which has made a tremendous difference in my comfort level with these, but overall these are 'cute' shoes, not shoes I'd wear for a lot of walking, unfortunately. They might just work better on others' ... MoreI'm torn on these shoes. I've had them for a couple months, and I did keep them, but unsure if I'd recommend them. I have been a loyal Saucony Jazz Original customer for years. I've owned at least 4 pairs of this style and love it for various reasons. But this time the shoe is just different. I already know my size, I just wanted a new pair because my old ones were wearing out. But to my surprise, when it arrived the shoe was a lot smaller and tighter than my old ones. The toe is more narrow too. I probably would have to go a whole size larger than normal! I don't know what's going on with this company, but they don't even have size availability. I checked for months before buying these, waiting for them to become available in my size. Using the 'notify me' feature, I was finally able to get it, but sadly, I had to return them. And on top of that, be aware that they charge taxes ... MoreI have been a loyal Saucony Jazz Original customer for years. I've owned at least 4 pairs of this style and love it for various reasons. It's not obvious until you return something. I probably won't be buying from here again. It's sad because you can't find these shoes in physical stores, at least not easily. They are certainly not available around me.

I’ve been wearing Saucony Jazz since 1996. This new “81” version is TERRIBLE!!! The heal has less support, the toe box is too tight, and the mesh is awful looking. Also the tongue is too thin. WHY DID YOU MAKE THESE CHANGES?! And for twice the price? Major downgrade. Saucony, read the room, loyal customers for years are super disappointed in this crappier versio. Of what was once a uniquely excellent shoe. Now it’s just some “onitsuka tiger” retro piece of junk. Tight and uncomfortable. MAKE THE ORIGINAL.

These are my favorite everyday sneakers because they are so comfortable and supportive. Sadly, they aren’t as available as they used to be. They feel a bit narrower and shorter in length than ones I’ve purchased in the past. I wish you stick to the previous sizing. Please keep the Jazz originals alive in more colors. The ones with the nylon fabric are my go-to shoes.
I just got these and was very disappointed. The color online said red/white. I got these to wear to football/basketball games because team colors are red and yellow. They are not red. They are orange. People kept making comments like, “those are cute but very orange”. There also is no arch support and not the most comfortable if on your feet for very long. Very disappointed as I love my Saucony running shoes. I wish the description matched the actual shoe color.
I've been buying Jazz Originals for many years now. It's frustrating because the style/fit is always changing to some degree. For this version, they seem to have use a leather upper, which creates a tighter fit around the ankle, and makes it quite difficult to remove the shoe / put it on. The fit is also a bit "longer" than usual (much more room around the toe than usual at this size). That said, it's still a great shoe (there's a reason I keep buying them).
They’re no Vegan Low Pro, but they’re darn close! Maybe my favorite Saucony sneakers to date. The detail work like the canvas/suede uppers, the soft leather in the heel and as trim on the tongue really make these. I have had bad luck with Jazz sizing and went up a half size with these and they’re perfect. The fact that they were 30% off made the purchase easy, but they have far exceeded my expectations.
I've been wearing these sneakers for at least 20 years. They have been my go-to sneakers for fit and comfort. I've been watching the quality degrade and the price continue to go up. The last few pairs I've purchased are unwearable. So uncomfortable and the toe part has gotten so much narrower and it crushes my toes. I even sized up 1/2 size and I cannot wear those either. I used to feel like I was walking on a cloud, now the shoe is hard and causes my feet to ache. So sad to see that my favorite sneakers can no longer provide the comfort and quality I relied on for so many years. I wish Saucony would read these reviews and see that I am not alone. Sadly, I must look elsewhere now.
This new “81” version is garbage. Saucony changed the last after 40+ years of this shoe being perfect. It’s narrower and tighter in the toe box. It lost all the qualities that made this an epic, one of a kind retro sneaker. Now it’s just another “onitsuka tiger” fashion shoe. I wore this brand for over 25 years exclusively. Now I’m wearing new balance. Screw you Saucony. At the very least, license the old last to someone who will be faithful to the original and not screw over long time loyal customers.
I have been buying The Jazz for years, and thought that the Jazz 81 would be similar in comfort and fit to past generations of Jazz that I loved. I ended up very disappointed. There is no arch support. The heel feels very firm with minimal padding. The tongue is not padded. The Mesh on the footbed looks glossy and cheap. Overall, a very disappointing buy. This pair is a downgrade from my old pair. Saucony has ruined a good thing, I am contemplating switching brands at this point.
