Fly through the trails with the Saucony Peregrine 12. This tried and true trail shoe has everything that you love from previous versions of the Peregrine but in a lighter, more comfortable and more protective package. In our Peregrine 12 review, testers noted that ldquoIt still feels like the Peregrine that I have known and loved for the past several years, but itrsquos noticeably lighter, more nimble and grippier.rdquo Saucony added a new bendable rock plate that gives you protection and a smooth ride on rocky trails. It also allows the shoe to drain when you are running through streams, rivers or puddles. They redesigned the PWRTRAC outsole to give you better traction and allow you to dig in and take off with speed. Feel comfortable during long or short trail runs with Sauconyrsquos soft, springy PWRRUN cushioning. They even added more comfort with a new sockliner made with PWRRUN+ cushioning. The upper has been stripped down to give you a more comfortable feel. But there is now a tighter weave that keeps dirt and debris out, while still being breathable. Plus, they retooled the laces, using fabric eyelets for a tighter, more locked-down fit. Strategic overlays on the upper to protect against sticks and stones and a toe guard keeps you from stubbing your toe on roots. Take on the trails with confidence in the Saucony Peregrine 12.

I bought my first pair of these when they first came out in February '22. I love these shoes. They have an excellent lockdown with plenty of room for the forefoot. The traction is amazing and the cushioning is light and responsive. They also look great which is always a plus. However, within 150 miles, the upper completely separated from the medial side overlays. With 4 inch gashes on the inside, it was nearly impossible to run in them. I had seen a few reviews stating the same problem, so I assumed it was a defect batch. I got another pair but was disappointed to see the upper coming undone in the same spot within 200 miles. I have only heard a few complaints of this problem, so I'm not sure if this is only a problem with a specific color-way (the vizier gold) or ... MoreI bought my first pair of these when they first came out in February '22. Nevertheless, it is really disappointing to not even get to 300 miles in a pair of shoes. It is also a sustainability issue if shoes have to be replaced so often. I really hope future iterations fix this problem, because this is a great shoe otherwise.

I found these online from the manufacturer directly as the style I was replacing wasn't on the Saucony website or available in any of the sites. The CS Rep helped me locate something that had support, cushion, tread. He found the Peregrine -- we ordered a 9.5, 1/2 size bigger to support an insert I have to wear. I was worried the shoes would be too small but they are just right. I have slender narrow feet, not much bunion so the snugness is appreciated. I broke them in traveling through the airports. Buying a second pair, one for walking, one for everyday, these are all I will wear now, I am middle age and have arthritis so no more heels for me. Btw, the insert I added is a high arch, low heel by Power steps -- I picked up at the Physical Therapist office. Directly from Saucony to avoid knock offs, received a 20% coupon. Color: acqua. Only wish they were made in USA, I was looking for a shoe made in the USA not China.

Unfortunately I was disappointed. Twice. Had /still have a much earlier version of the Peregrine and it was one of the comfiest shoes I’d ever worn. Ordered the new model - Peregrine 12 - in my normal Saucony size - 7.5M - but it was extremely narrow. I returned it and just received the 7.5W - STILL very narrow throughout and no space in the toebox either. These shoes will also have to go back. I had heard that Saucony significantly changed its classic shoes - apparently not for the best. The service is great, but it’s comfortable, quality shoes I want. Now I must find a new brand to wear for my trail running.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to shoes but these felt decent from the first try-on.They're super (SUPER) grippy, which would be excellent for loose trails, rock climbs, or winter running. I would avoid using them on the road, though. While comfortable and having decent arch support, I would not recommend these if you're looking for stability. It might be because they run a tad bit too narrow for my foot, but I found them too "soft"-fitting for stability that I like.Pros: - Good arch support- Decently comfortable- True to size- Super grip- "stay-put" lacesCons:- Not a ton of stability

I've always run in Peregrines since I've been trail running and have owned the 7s, 10s and now the 12. I have the Campfire colorway and I love the ridiculous shade of orange these are (trail shoes SHOULD have amazing colors) These shoes fit my foot like a glove, provide excellent traction and with the rock plate have solid protection for rough terrain. They also drain incredibly well. All that being said, would it hurt Saucony to not make the heel cup so dang stiff or to add some cushion inside it? Ever since the 10s the heels on this style have been rigid to a fault. Without the flexibility on uphill climbs as I push up and the shoe pulls down a touch in the back, it puts pressure against the back of my heel resulting in blisters and bruising. Without the flexibility on uphill climbs as I push up and the shoe pulls down a touch in the back, it puts pressure against the back of my heel resulting in blisters and bruising. My feet are a little on the narrow side which is why I prefer the Peregrines. It seems for the 12s they stripped the shoe too much in favor of less weight. If they're going to make the heel cup/back rigid they need to provide a buffer around that area. The 7s were a great example of just enough cushion in the heel without being a hinderance (also the material inside the shoe could do with some durability upgrades).I would only recommend Peregrines for technical trails and nothing over the 50ks distance as the padding isn't sufficient for much over 30+. The 12s will require a bit of a break in period as usual, but it's rough so far. Here's hoping Saucony gives the heel area a little more comfort with the next version (and a slightly bigger toebox).
I've been an avid Peregrine user since the Peregrine 8. The 12s have finally ruined that. This model deviates greatly from previous models. The upper is so flimsy that my foot feels completely unstable. I've only used them for the 30 miles, and the foam is already showing signs of wear. Pressure lines that appear in the previous models well after 100 miles. My boyfriend has only used his pair for 2 weeks, and the shoes are already junk. The tread is already peeling off. I feel like Saucony sacrificed so much of the older models for a lighter model which has ruined the integrity of the shoes. My boyfriend's second, unused pair is being returned, and he just ordered Altra's instead. My pair will be my last Peregrine that I order, and I will probably go back to La ... MoreI've been an avid Peregrine user since the Peregrine 8. The 12s have finally ruined that. Saucony really missed the mark with these shoes, especially for those of us running on rocky, rooty terrain.
I have trail run in nothing but peregrine series shoes for many years. The peregrine 12 is not a trail shoe in any category. These offer little lateral support, minimal toe protection and are just flat out flimsy. The upper mesh is thin and the heel sits oddly high and rubbed into my achilles. The footbed itself is thin and the lugs can be felt while standing in them. I run technical terrain with alot of lateral movement and a ton of elevation change. I would never chance an injury in this version. You took away quality features to lighten a trail shoe. Bottom line...trail runners carry water and mud and added weight all the time while running. The loss of a few tenths of an ounce will never outweigh stability and support.
I thought maybe I could buy these instead of Altras but I was so wrong. I love Altras but they wear out way too fast. I had some decent Sauconys several years ago, so I just figured in a world full of 3-5mm drop shoes, these might just work. They are very narrow, stiff and uncomfortable. I wore them for five minutes in my house and hated every second of it. These were returned and replaced with Altra Rivera 2s which have the slim foot but are still much more comfy than the Peregrine. I prefer the original Altra foot build, but I found a good deal. So sad. I really thought the Saucony's were pretty.
I bought this shoe for walking/running and the shoe lasted 2 weeks while walking the trail which was about 200 miles. The shoe tore on the inner side within a few days of wearing them and continued to tear near a design flaw. Since my foot was almost coming out of them I needed to buy another pair of shoes quickly and the first store I went to had the exact model so I gave it a second try hoping the first pair was just a lemon. The second pair lasted about 1 week which was about 150 miles and same issue happened where it tore on the inner side of the shoe due to a design flaw. I contacted Saucony but they were unable to help me since I lost the receipt of the shoes. I’ve loved their peregrine 11 and those shoes lasted 600-700 miles of walking. Please update the shoe to fix this design flaw. Photos are from 2 different pair of shoes and the tread was still high functioning and would have lasted longer if the side didn’t tear so easily. For the cost of the shoe I’d hope they would last longer than 1 week of wear.
