These shoes are almost perfect I feel!I have been running in saucony guides since the very beginning (guide 2 through the guide 15!). Multiple pairs in each one. Lots of miles. The Tempus has proven to be an exceptional shoe for what I was looking for. I previously wore the ASICS DS-Trainer for nearly two decades. I'm a larger runner at 6'3", about 200 pounds averaging with a PR of 7:03/mile for a 13.1. Historically I preferred a more minimalist feeling. Now that I'm in my 30s, I had decided to switch things up to proactively protect my knees. So I chose the ASICS Novablast 2. Great shoe but problem was it was too cushy for my feet and therefore I suffered a pretty severe ankle injury after my first 26.2. The fact that this shoe has a super foam is a statement and the start of what will hopefully become a new benchmark in the industry. I've used this on my assault runner (curved) treadmill and have logged over 50 miles on the road. So if you need some stability and want a fresh take on what a shoe in this category can offer, I strongly recommend the Tempus as an option. (I did need to to get a 1/2 size up FYI)Bravo Saucony. You've just brought in an 20 year+ loyal ASICS customer.

Since my Triumph P’NR+RUN shoes changed in ways I don’t like, I got the Tempus because they are described to have a good amount of support like my old shoes. They do! They are very comfortable. They are a bit wider at the front of the foot, allowing me sufficient space on either side of my toes. My foot sinks into the shoe, rather than sit atop it. This gives me better support. With my narrower heal, I am pleased to have the shoe hold my heel in position and not pop-up out of the shoe when I walk/run. I don’t find the Tempus very attractive, but they are so comfortable I don’t worry about the look as much. The color is a light turquoise with darker turquoise highlights. I wish the color was a more basic black/white/gray etc..

I was expecting much more from the Tempus given the description and all the reviews. I started off running uphill with them and had the biggest grin on my face thinking "I'm running in a super shoe!". Then as I went slightly downhill my thought turned to "What the heck?". The foam seemed to compress and it just didn't feel good anymore..It's a quality built shoe, mostly, for sure, but for me the foam was not enjoyable. It compressed in a way that did not work with my strides. Plus there was something about the structure of the shoe that did not work with me as well. The traction on damp pavement was not good. It felt like tiny little slips on each footsrike. The first thing I noticed was that the traction was far superior. No slipping at all. Also, the leg turnover was faster, the support better and the cushioning felt to be better engineered in all respects. The cushioning was very firm but soft even downhill.About 10 or so years ago the Saucony Omni saved the day for about a year when my formerly beloved brand discontinued models. So no hard feeling to Saucony. I will try Saucony in the future. In fact I have Saucony walking shoes, the Omni Walker, that are I believe the best in the world currently. Total quality, super stable for comfortable walking as far as you want to go. Look terrific.
I grabbed a pair of Saucony Tempus running shoes at Dick's Sporting Goods online website because I had heard good things about the shoe, and they were on sale at quite a "steal." However, I wish that in my angst to get the shoes at the sale price, I had not neglected to read some of the online reviews about the shoe. Quite a number of those reviews state that the shoes run half a size small, and that has also been my experience. Unfortunately, the shoes are VERY supportive, and partly because the shoes run small, all of that high arch support is located too far back toward the heel of the shoe, creating a very intrusive effect where the arch tendon connects to the heel. It is very likely that for someone with normal arches who buys the Saucony Tempus shoes a half size larger than their normal size, the shoes are just fine.
This is my 4th pair of Tempus. Tried them out when my local running store stopped stocking Mizuno Wave Inspire. They are lighter than the Inspire by a few ounces. They are a stability shoe that I use to run between 40 and 50 miles a week. Very comfortable and lightweight with breathable mesh uppers. Only compliant is heel counter is not too rigid and can fold over when putting shoe on. Requires you to make sure laces are sufficiently loosened before putting shoe on. New version is supposed to be coming out soon so I have been able to get them at $110 versus the normal price of $160 via mail order. Many local running stores do carry this particular shoe on a regular basis.

I have been obsessively trying to find the perfect stability shoe that balances stability and responsiveness while giving stability wearers a fast shoe. And this shoe is as close to that goal as I have ever found. It's light and springy, almost begging you to run fast in them. The fit and lockdown are fantastic (I often have problems as I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel). Also, the laces that came with my Vizipro version are terrible - they're round, stiff, and hard, with very little stretch. When combined with the minimal padding in the tongue I had some lace bite and had to make some adjustments/changes in lacing. While the lockdown is generally good, I do have to use a runners lace to get a firm lockdown. Also, the stability here is mild - if you are a more moderate to severe overpronator, you'll notice it on longer runs. The medial arch is also quite intrusive and can aggravate my plantar fasciitis. I can almost guarantee I'll be hobbled a bit after any run over 5 miles (due to the arch and the mildness of the stability). More lateral stability would be appreciated too.

I moved on from the Triumphs due to needing more stability, but they were my previous favorite shoe. The Tempus’ predecessor, the Hurricane, was a very good shoe but these are a definite improvement. Because of that, I have been wearing supportive shoes for a long time. I bought a pair of Tempus after seeing that it is a shoe that is lighter, and speedier, while still offering support.The shoes feel rigid at first, and it took over 20 miles in them for the bounciness of the pwrrun pb to start shining. Also, because of the pebax foam, the shoe engages different muscles in my body, especially the calves. It may be that the softer foam affects my gait, and it took a while to get used to that. It does take a while to break in and for your body to adjust to it (if you haven't had pebax foam shoes before). Once you do, it's fantastic.
