Savoia Americano Rosso is a refined Italian aperitif produced in a historic artisan distillery in Turin. This aperitif combines the bitter notes typical of Milanese aperitifs with the sweetness of Southern Italian fortified wines. Inspired by the historic "Milan Bitter" of the late 1800s, Savoia is made with exceptional, predominantly Italian ingredients, including artemisia, bitter orange and gentian, along with a complex selection of more than 20 hand-selected botanicals. The base of the wine is a blend of Trebbiano (Ugni Blanc) and Marsala Fine DOC, aged for 14 months in oak barrels. The production of Savoia Americano Rosso follows traditional methods and uses high quality ingredients. The base wine, a blend of Trebbiano and Marsala Fine DOC, is aged in oak barrels for 14 months, giving the final product a unique aromatic and gustatory complexity. Hand-selected botanicals add additional layers of flavor, making this aperitif a sophisticated choice for any occasion. On the nose, Savoia Americano Rosso offers a complex combination of bitter orange, bergamot and citrus, enriched with notes of angelica, rhubarb and cassia wood. On the palate, the taste is balanced and gentle, with an aromatic spiciness that comes from the use of white cardamom, cinnamon and ginger. The structure is harmonious and well balanced, with a sweetness that goes perfectly with the bittering notes of the botanicals. This aperitif is ideal to enjoy pure, with ice or as a base for refined cocktails.

Sipping it over ice is an aromatic delight, with herbal and bitter notes complemented by a subtle sweetness. When mixed in a Boulevardier, it shines, offering a harmonious balance of bitter and sweet flavors. However, in a Negroni, be cautious, as the bitter finish can be a bit overwhelming compared to using separate bottles of sweet vermouth and Campari. Personally, I found the finish to be a tad too bitter on the tongue. Overall, this Italian gem promises a bittersweet journey worth experiencing. So grab a bottle, get creative, and enjoy the ride! Cheers!

I bought this out of curiosity, really. I tried it in a classic negroni and was very pleased. It's less bitter than Campari, and made an excellent cocktail.

Orange on the nose, then some vanilla cuts through with a gentle sweetness followed by a complex bouquet & palate of spices - the cardamom in particular, for me - finishing with a bracing bitterness. A total delight.

I loved the fact that I could either mix it in cocktail or sip it by its own over ice.Love it love it love it!
Makes one of the best Negroni ever, with bittersweet aftertaste.
Unique flavors and experience. Similar to Campari or other Italian bitters. Plenty of nuanced flavors to activate multiple parts of your palate. Still looking for the best way to mix this.
