The Sawyer tap filter is ideal if you are unsure of the reliability of tap water. This can be the case, for example, when traveling over long distances or also for taps in gardens and other outdoor installations. The filter attachment is designed to be flexible, so you can attach it to taps of different sizes. Water passes through a hollow fiber system whose 0.1 micron pores allow water molecules to pass through, but are too small for bacteria, giardia, microplastics and other unwanted germs and suspended solids. When its performance is optimal, the Sawyer Tap filter can filter up to 1,900 litres per day, and will last 10 years or more if properly maintained and stored. A simple backwash mechanism cleans the Sawyer Tap filter and removes debris, which increases both flow rate and filter life. However, care should be taken if the filter has been exposed to very cold temperatures while wet or wet, as frozen water can expand and tear the walls of hollow fibers, making them permeable to germs. Wherever the water quality is doubtful but the plumbing system is still intact, the tap filter will bring you safe, clean drinking water in seconds.

Great filter for travel. Took it round India, and I didn't buy any plastic bottled water.

Very small, lightweight and must have in every survival kit, backpack or camping kit. Ideal for emergency water supply in a hurry. I have two of these filters, in the unlikely event of one fails, I have a spare.

Was everything I needed for the trip. Worked just fine the instructions was easy. The unit is lightweight which is what you want on a long backpacking trip too.
I feel my water is safer now and already tastes better.
Going outdoor camping this weekend and need an outdoor water filter for rivers and streams. Despite what the picture shows this item is a tap filter for a water faucet not for outdoors. Disappointed to have to make another 20 minute trip to return this item. I ordered curbside pickup so I was not aware that this item was not as pictured and ordered. ordered.
Great filter like all the other Sawyer products. My city water has been sucking in sea water so it’s nice to put this on my sink and get clean drinking water. Moosejaw shipped fast and are good to go.
Bought the Sawyer mini water filter kit and used it during two weekends in the Swedish mountains. Two words: Love it! The Sawyer mini is small, easy to use and reliable. I drank from a stream and tested a rain puddle (did not actully try the water from the puddle but it came out crystal clear). This filter works just as advertised and its a great backup when you cant boil water and if you are "on the go" and need clean water!
Because it is easy to use, does what it says , and is very portable.
