Scan Guage 2 worked as stated, straight out of the box. Cleared some trouble codes that 2 other machines couldn't then proceeded to provide some super useful guages to assist me in engine preservation in future. A great tool for my 2009 MN Triton. I created a mount so the unit sits at the top inside the windscreen and can be easily read at anytime while driving and isn't a forward vision hazard. The more I use the scanguage the better it gets and the more I learn to get out of it. Cheers.

Great plug and play unit easy to set up.

I just upgraded my older ScanGuage, and I'm very happy with it and the company. For my Honda Insight Generation 1 (2000 to 2006), it helps me stay in "lean burn" mode by displaying the throttle position sensor. That allows over 80mpg trips and around 70mpg averages. Geeking out more: a TPS value below 18 for about a second triggers lean burn, then slow acceleration (but keeping the TPS below 32) keeps it in lean burn. The mixture is enriched for 8 seconds every couple minutes to keep the exhaust pipe from building up ash deposits. I've not played with all the cool new features yet, but it is a great manual that clearly explains how to use every feature.

Scan Gauge 11

"If you tow, the gauge is a must particularly if the vehicle is automatic. The difference in auto oil temperature when in DRIVE as opposed to S for Sports or Select is huge- from 80 to 140 Celcius within 500m in drive mode compared to S mode where it drops back to 80 within minutes as the torque convertor which is generating heat determining whether to change up or down a gear is now locked. Monitoring the load on the engine using the LOD parameter on the Gauge and driving to keep it at 50 to 75% increases fuel consumption markedly. \nIn a Landcruiser 200 Diesel whilst towing a 2.2t full size caravan up to 100kph, forget 5th and 6th gear completely if you want low oil and coolant temperatures, revs within the torque band and increased fuel consumption. With 15 gauges and the ability to read and reset fault codes plus a trip system that is easy to read and understand makes scangauge almost necessary on any late model vehicle. \n (ease of switching between modes) - large easy to read screen with prompts makes it very easy to jump between modes.\n (will it save you fuel) correct answer is no it wont - but the improvement in your driving style will - its early days - but the results so far show a pleasing improvement. \n\n Round up - it is simply to install, its not a confusing hard to workout bit of crap you open and never use. it does exactly what they say in a easy to follow manner. \nit repeats what your ECU is reading which means it accurate. Not all ECU's provide the full amount of info the gauge can read, we tested it on a 2010 Hiace, 2006 Corolla & 2010 Commodore and all displayed the info needed. \n\nBest feature - custom adjustable speedo - the ability to daisy chain head units - trip system \n\nWorst feature - NONE - apart form when you have one, you want more. \n\nWould i buy a second unit - Hell yes. \n\n5 big stars for the unit and for Fuel Economy Solutions"

Scangauge 2 is really worth it especially when tow

"I am very happy with the Scangauge2 GAUGES page where I monitor the Intake air temperature(after the turbo and intercooler), Radiator water temperature, Auto transmission temperature and Kph which really gives you important information on the condition of the motor particularly when towing a 2.5 ton van with my Mitsubishi Diesel Pajero VRX DiD.\nThe X-Gauge facility is great to enable you to add additional gauges.\nThe Trip function is also very usefull (once you have set it up after running two tanks of fuel through the car). It lets you see such data as Fuel used , Fuel left in tank, Distance remaining until tank is empty, Time remaining until tank is empty, Trip distance, Trip elapsed time, Trip average speed, Trip cost and many more. This is set up by using a GPS to find the true speed you are doing.\nIt is also very adaptable to allow you to set up 'F or 'C, Gallons or Liters, Kl or Miles in all reports.\nThe gauge allows a two step brightness and infinite colour changes to suit your taste."

Scangauge II - very happy :-)
12 September 2018

"Speedy delivery (actually arrived earlier than estimated), so very happy with that :-). Had nearly 3 weeks now to get through the 'playing around' stage'. First, installation was a breeze once I worked out where to mount it (I just used the supplied velcro strips and mounted it on steering column, just behind the wheel - clear view and doesn't block out the dash gauges. After following the initial setup process, it was up and running.Have had a look through most of the settings, and added a few X-gauges, some with success, a couple not so much - possibly a limitation of what the car (BT-50) makes available. So, overall very happy - it fires up when the engine starts running, and shuts down when I stop. And all the data is at my fingertips. Tells me what I wanted to know!
22 June 2017

I had an older Scangage years ago. Very aesthetically archaic compared to the new ones. I needed to know my transmission temperature because of burned fluid so early in it's life. I learned that I needed to get it out of the radiator coolant situation as it was getting way hotter than the recommended 165 degrees. Mine was getting to as high as 233 degrees when high ambient temps and I wasn't towing anything. From here I purchased an external cooler and all has been well. If I can just find the code to tell me the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit instead if Centigrade....but I will take Centigrade for sure. I monitor radiator coolant, transmission temperature, ambient temperature, and mpg. Really nice being able to monitor these parameters.

Worth it's weight in gold.

I've saved a tonne of money by not having to buy individual analog gauges. I wanted trans temp, water temp, MAP pressure and voltage in particular, this would cost in access of $1000 including all sensors and brackets, Scan gauge cost just over $200 and it's plug and play straight into OBDII port. Scan gauge has many, many customizable gauges that the analog world could only dream of. Smart compact, easy to read, fully customizable and affordable. A real no brainer, just get it.
