The Instinct Lace from Scarpa provides excellent feel and precision on steep rock. The aggressive toe down articulation of this shoe means that keeping your feet on holds that are small or far away from you horizontally is that much easier. The laces on this boot provide an excellent fit that keeps your foot from rotating in the shoe.

Wow, this shoe is so bad, I almost wonder if I got a dud or unfinished pair? I wear the vs version and the vsr all the time, and wanted the lace to pull the mid foot down tighter and fit them a bit better for longer climbs. Holy cow, this is a garbage shoe. The mid foot to toe is awesome, very sensitive and a perfect fit. The back of the shoe, mid foot all the way around the heel. Is like a wet paper bag that sort of flops around, completely unconnected to the lacing system, with zero tension along the sole connecting the two halves. It feel like a mule, or a slide, and is utterly useless for rock climbing. I tries three days in them and spent every day stopping to shove my heel back into the shoe at rests. Waste of money. I sincerely hope I got a pair that is ... MoreWow, this shoe is so bad, I almost wonder if I got a dud or unfinished pair? The whole Instinct line is phenomenal and this is my go-to shoe for any sport climb that requires putting all my weight on tiny foot holds. ! I have a high volume foot, medium-width toe box, and narrow heel. With the Instinct VS, VSR, & S(R), I've been wearing 43.5 and went up to 44 on the W Instinct. The other instinct models were slightly too tight at 43.5 and had too much space in a 44, but the W Instinct fits perfectly! Other brand size comparisons: Evolv Shaman- 10.5, La Sportiva Solution Comp- 42.5, Tenaya Ra- 10

These shoes are actually the Women's Instinct Lace-up and not the VS's pictured. The fit is about the same as the VS, but with more ability to adjust for comfort or performance. The heel is a little different, but the performance was great on a trip to Joshua Tree. I placed my heel on a small protrusion and the it didn't budge as moved I moved my hands to some small crimps. I wouldn't recommend these for smearing out of the box, but for aggressive overhanging climbs and small foot chips, it's a champ. My shoe sizes:Scarpa Instincts (VS, VSR, SR, and Women's VS) 39.5Madrock Remora size 6.5Unparallel Vim/Regulus 7.5
| Closing System | Laces |
| Climbing Shoe Use | Crag, Multipitch |

Great step up from my previous scarpa shoes. Good for narrow feet. I’m a size 7 but went for a 9 and they fit perfectly!
