What a surprise these were. Most Scarpa shoes don't fit my heel well but this one sure did. I typically wear women's shoes b/c I have a narrow foot and my early warning here is that the men's version is a little roomy. But overall, the heel and toe box fit my narrow foot well. It's the mid foot that's a bit loose. Nonetheless, I can climb very well in these shoes have almost no problems. They're very comfortable and inspired a lot of confidence in my climbing immediately. This is a great shoe. Do not overlook this one. It can likely do most anything but if you downsize a lot for bouldering or hard sport you won't wan to to use them for traditional or crack climbing. Since they fit me a little bit, I will likely use them for everything. Way to go Scarpa: this one is ... MoreWhat a surprise these were. I personally have a pair of these and they are excellent climbing shoes! The grip and support are fantastic and they are very tough at the toes so allowing you to get the tips of your toes onto the smallest flake! Slight downside is that they are not too comfortable for long periods of time. Would definitely still recommend for more advanced climbers/bouldering

Fantastic shoe

I haven’t had these long, so durability is still yet to be tested but everyone I know with them has had them for a year+. I love the laces, super easy to personalize the fit. Shoes broke in after just 2 sessions. I wear a 41 street shoe and bought the 40.5 and they fit perfect. The edging is next level and I love actually being able to toe hook. The build quality of scarpa is unmatched, I will be hard pressed to but anyone else’s shoes.

Happy, so far.

I've been bouldering in it for a month now, indoors. Haven't had the chance to take it outside yet. First impression is very good. The shoe is comfortable, the lacing system helps to dial in fit. Initially there were a couple of hot spots on the three outside toes but it was quick to adapt to my foot and felt good after 3 sessions.I like the materials used on the upper, the shoe feels durable overall and with good footwork the rubber should last a long time. A perk for me is being able to loosen the laces and pull the tongue out to let the shoes breathe, it seems to me they dry out much faster than other climbing shoes I've owned. For sizing I went with a 43, which is a comfortable fit for me. Toes slightly curled but not super aggressive. The shoe breaks in ... MoreI've been bouldering in it for a month now, indoors. Haven't had the chance to take it outside yet. Toes slightly curled but not super aggressive. The shoe breaks in slightly, so don't expect too much give. I'm happy with the heel, feels good.I tried a 42.5 first, but there was too much pressure on the outer toes, to the point where I couldn't drive the force down into the sole, and the toes were just getting crunched. That was the tradeoff for me, slightly roomier big toe area and a bit more give in the heel for a good overall fit.For comparison I'm US10 street size, on the tail end of 43 and previously had the Solution in a 41.5. The Solution was a more aggressive fit, but also had more room for the outer toes (didn't have the hot spot issue there, but perhaps my feet have changed in the last year).Overall happy, looking forward to taking them outside. Could see myself buying a more aggressive bouldering shoe with softer rubber in the future to partner this one (a comfort/sport shoe).

I wear size 8.5-9 street shoe/ sportiva tx3/ 42 Miura vcs(baggy but comfy).Okay so due to sizing availability I bought the Instinct VS in 41.5 and Instinct lace in 41 and the sportiva Solution in 41. My favorite shoe
30 September 2022

This shoe is fantastic on edges and still smears well. I use it primarily on granite and occasionally in the gym. I have a hard time finding a solid fit on the heel for most shoes and the instinct family fits great. It is one of the comfiest shoes I own and will be buying them again and again. I like lace closures and this shoe has a great closure system. I don't have enough good things to say about this shoe. Sizing wise I wear 40.5 in la sportiva and 41.5-42 in scarpa, this is a snugger fitting shoe and I opt for the 42. My street shoe is a 42.5-43. hope that helps with sizing.

SENDERZ!
23 June 2021

I climb about 3x a week in the gym and about every other weekend outdoors. I bought these and a pair of Katana Lace climbing shoes at the same time, love them both! Very minimal wear on these shoes after about 3 weeks of solid climbing, so I'm excited about their durability. I mainly use the Instincts for bouldering and they have such good control and I feel like I have great sensitivity compared to other shoes. I highly recommend these shoes if you're looking for high-quality shoes for a great price! The sizing was a bit weird... I have these in a 44.5 EU and I wear a 44 EU in La Sportiva. I definitely wouldn't go any smaller on these shoes, they fit perfectly and have stretched just a tiny bit since I've gotten them. I only know that because my right foot is ... MoreI climb about 3x a week in the gym and about every other weekend outdoors. Sticky bouldering shoe for narrow heels
15 September 2020

I must've tried on 20 pairs before finding these! I realized I need the LACE rather than velcro since my heels are quite narrow, and will slip out with any other type of shoe. (I found La Sportivas to have the largest heel cup by far. I've had 3 other Scarpas and they are the best fit for me).I upgraded from the Scarpa Boostic and these were definitely a more aggressive fit, yet they never felt uncomfortable even on the first try. Immediately they felt sturdier and stickier. They are slightly less flexible in the middle which gave me the stability I needed on chips and edges. My toe hooks improved a thousand percent with the rubber toe box. And the clincher - they don't slip out on even sharp heel hooks (which I do a lot) like most other shoes I've tried. perfect shoe
28 November 2020

this has become my favorite shoe I've ever owned;1. I'm a 43.5-44 street shoe and got these 42.5 and after 6 months of abuse these things have barely stretched and are still aggressive, supportive, and sensitive. <- rare to see all three in a shoe.2. toe box is more accommodating (which I prefer over the pointed style of most Sportiva) 3. heel is super sensitive (which is another factor about Scarpa that I like over Sportiva)4. there is no dead space in the shoe even after break in - still a satisfying puff of air being pushed out of the shoe when slipping on5. plus, for a lace-up shoe you still have toe rubber for hooks and jamming - all while being minimalistic and lightweight- truly a remarkable piece of climbing gear
