The Scarpa Instinct VSR is the soft and supple climbing shoe of the Instinct family tree, with a technical and sensitive design made for hard sport climbing and bouldering. The Scarpa Instinct VSR shares a similar design to its sister shoe, the Scarpa Instinct VS, but it features a velcro closure for a more precise fit as well as a slightly thicker rubber for better durability. With a focus on friction over edging, the Instinct VSR is better suited to overhanging and steep routes, glassy and polished rock, and smearing on slabs. The Instinct family is known for its high levels of sensitivity, and the VSR is no different. The signature Bi-Tension rand, which drives power through the toes without causing discomfort, and the high-friction toe patch, for maximum grip during toe-hooks, that make the Instinct family so renowned still feature on the Instinct VRS, but it's its softer nature and XS Grip 2 rubber that makes it the golden child for technical sport routes and hard boulder problems. Also ideal for lighter climbers. The Instinct VSR features a microsuede upper which will break-in, but will not stretch. This will maintain the shoe's performance over its entire lifespan. Size accordingly.

I've had this shoe for about two months now and I can say it has been top notch, awesome toe grip and heel hooks, pretty comfy now too. I even use it outdoors which hasn't been too bad!I got 3 sizes down (7.5 from 10.5) which was initially extremely painful but sooooo worth it. All around really good shoe and now they've molded a bit to my feet they fit perfectly, no problem getting them on/off.Wouldn't recommend for a totally new climber since they're pretty painful as I say but I'm not exactly pro, so I'd say well worth the long term investment. Definitely makes you want to get better quickly.Very happy!

Despite the usual pain of bouldering shoes, these shoes stand out among the rest that I have tried. Great craftsmanship.

Absolutely love them. Some discomfort for the first two sessions wearing them but that passed quickly. I didn’t really size down and am glad I didn’t. Excellent for standing on tiny things and soft enough to smear. Seem equally good for lead and bouldering.

Great fit, exactly to size. Fairly wide suitable for square-shaped feet. Only took 2 climbs to wear them in. Best shoes I’ve had, fairly aggressive and good rubber on top for good toe hooks! Recommended
I'm really happy with the Instinct VS-R. I've been using them for a couple of weeks now and they have performed exactly as I'd wanted both outside and indoors. On real rock is where they come into their own for me: all the great features of the Instinct VS but with that greater sensitivity and softer rubber for tiny footholds and smearing. Sizing-wise, I took the same size as my Instinct VS and my Vapour V and they are spot-on. For me, a ''grail'' shoe!
Perfect grip for indoor bouldering thanks to Virbram XS Grip2 soleVery easy hooking thanks to rubber patch on the upside above the tosePointy tip for small steps
Excellent customer service, really quick turnaround in email responses and speedy shoe returns process. Absolutely loved the shopping experience with climbing anchor. Keep crushing it guys!
Best all around boot in my opinion. If the orange VS fit you well, these will be a perfect slightly softer and stickier option for when those qualities are most required. Also best toe patch in the market making climbing roof problems infinitely better.
Great service from rock run as ever :)))Item: Really cool innovative shoe, super light with a weird sock-like fit! Climbing buddies were very jealous ;) However, after some light usage, I have noticed one of the heels has started to bag out and loosing that great fit. I am a little worried I won't be able to trust the heel as much. Will continue to use as for steep ground this things a beast!
I bought these to see how they fared outdoors. But my god are they good on volumes. I recently did a comp where there was multiple instances I thought I was about to slip off a volume and I just stuck! It felt like cheating.Outdoors, they take some getting used to in terms of foot strength and protection. With the minimal amount of rubber, or anything, your foot feels everything. Which is both great for sensitivity with heels, toe hooks and smearing, but can be quite painful if you bang your foot around with poor technique to fight up boulders.10/10 so far. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Supple, sensitive, downturned. Excellent shoe to have in the quiver.
