Similarly, these boots felt good at home. I first tested them on a short overnight backpack trip (about 10kms each way) and noted-to-self that the boot soles were a bit hard. Then, I took them on another longer backpacking trip, and the soles of my feet ached in ways I'd never experienced. I had another trip planned right away, so in preparation I bought two pairs of cushy insoles to try to mitigate the aching. This helped, but by the end of 5 days I was concerned I was doing some kind of nerve damage, my feet ached so badly. A shame, as they are nice light boots and I had no issues with blisters. I may have to save them for steep day-hikes and find something else for backpacking.

I have several Scarpa boots. I use these ones for longer walks and more rough terrain/rocky trails. No rubbing or blisters. Very comfortableand supportive.

I bought these boots 5 years ago and they're still holding up to working in the woods. I've gone through a lot of hiking boots constantly taking them off the beaten path, through rivers and rocky terrane. NO BLISTERS! Light weight boots, well insulated, but not too hot in the summer (being that they're sealed). There was no "breaking them in", they fit perfect from day one and still going strong five years later. They've only just started getting torn up a bit, whereas most hiking boots are lucky to last two seasons with me. Highly recommended boots from someone who lives in hiking boots half the year!

Nice and snug, very supportive for narrow and boney feet. These boots opened the doors to other Scarpa boots and running shoes. Very warm and dry in Canadian winter up to -20c. The .5 increment in size allows good fit.
Bought these right before spending a month and a half doing all kinds of hikes in the Yukon. They were recommended to me because they are less stiff than traditional hiking boots, so they would work well for shorter day hikes as well as long multi-day hikes. Didn't break them in and had no problems with blisters. They kept my feet reasonably dry walking through snow, and heavy rain. They protected my feet from rocks and roots and everything else. I found them to be great for shorter hikes, but upwards of around 8-10 km hikes my feet would be quite sore..like cramping almost, and would remain sore and stiff the next couple days. Same thing when I did a short 2-nighter in Strathcona. I know it's the boots because I have done many multi-day hikes with many kms and have ... MoreBought these right before spending a month and a half doing all kinds of hikes in the Yukon. Same thing when I did a short 2-nighter in Strathcona. I know it's the boots because I have done many multi-day hikes with many kms and have been fine back when I was wearing just running shoes. It's really too bad because I loved them other than this fact..but I know I could not do the WCT in them because my feet would be too sore.
My Scarpa Kailash Trek GTX are a PERFECT fit. My feet are narrow and reviews I had researched were not wrong. They look better in person than displayed on websites. They feel great and I know I will get years of comfortable, stable hiking and general everyday wear from the Kailash Trek. Made in Italy, great craftsmanship and materials. I am elated that I was able to purchase while my size was still available.
I am really enjoying these boots! They are light which is nice for trekking and they are pretty comfy too. I like that they are waterproof and haven't had any issues with them feeling wet. I would recommend buying a half size up to accommodate for swelling as you walk.
I bought these for my rookie season tree planting. They are very comfortable off the bat and did not need breaking in. Good ankle support and waterproofness! Towards the end of the season, some of the seams began to open, the laces snapped and the tongue of the boot tore/frayed. As the boot is softer, with intense wear it does start to lose it's shape. However, the plus side of a softer boot is that it's flexible and light. Overall they handled well under a lot of rough use! I will be buying them again once my first pair demand retirement.
Excellent if you’re going to wear them very often. If you don’t- the glue in the soles can come apart. Ive had other pairs I have worn for years and they are excellent. But when I didn’t wear a brand new pair for 6 months after one wear - they fell apart.
I love love love Scarpa's Kailash Trek boots. I'm now on my third pair, having hiked rugged mountain trails up and down the Pacific North West, and most recently logging over 5000km on The Great Trail from BC to Ontario.Things I love about them:- Wide toe box -- I have massive bunions and need a wide toe. These boots fit the bill.- Solid, minimally flexible sole. Less flex in the sole = less wear and tear on the toe joints, which means less pain for folks with bunions, arthritis, etc.- Waterproofing holds up- Good breathability- No blisters! The inner material is durable but smooth, so the boots fit like a glove from the first wear and there isn't any blister-producing rubbing. Even when the sole rubber finally gave out after 1000s of kms of use, there ... MoreI love love love Scarpa's Kailash Trek boots.
