Exceptional durability

These outstanding boots lasted just over 4 years of very heavy use before finally falling apart. I subjected them to the harshest conditions throughout the Australian bush, rainforest and desert during this period and they were submerged frequently. Excellent waterproofing meant the insides seldom got wet. I'm sure if I'd taken better care of them they would have lasted even longer. They've vastly outperformed every other boot I've owned. They took a little while to wear in and are on the slightly narrow side for my foot so I've chosen the Delta model as my upgrade. I can only hope they're as durable and comfortable as the Terras were. Fantastic boots

Fantastic boots, super comfortable, never had a blister. I wear these on my daily 5-10km dog walks in the forest, and the occasional hike. Outer soles aren't the grippiest on slippery roots and rocks, but I'd rather have a harder, more durable compound over a tacky, soft compound that doesn't last long. They don't 'need' breaking in, but they'll definitely become more comfy as the leather loosens and moulds to your feet - just keep up with the leather conditioning. I wear a US 11, and went for the EU 46 in these.

First time hiker: 20km hike done easily because of these boots!

Did my first ever hike in these boots and I couldn't say a bad thing about them. I initially planned to do 10km, but I ended up doing the entire 20km hike because my feet and body weren't hurting. It's been two days since finishing and my body is still not sore. It has to be these boots because in any other shoe I cannot walk over 7-9km without getting pain in my feet. 100000% recommend these. I'm excited to take them to NZ in 3 days for my hiking trip.

Good boot w/ a fundamental flaw

Alright i've put a year and a few hundred miles into this boot so I figure it's time I leave a review. Regardless of the event, the boot always felt comfortable (expect for on wet rocks, which I'll get to later). It strikes a good balance between a light dayhiker and a more serious boot, leaving me comfortable throwing a 30# pack on and doing a few dozen miles without second thinking it (obviously it's not a heavy backpacking boot, and if you're looking to trek serious weight or need a ton of support you should look elsewhere). It's proven to be durable too, and I've had no issues with the water getting in. All around i've enjoyed the boot and would easily recommend it for dayhikes to weekend backpacking except for the following...Gaps:There's no way around it, this boot's grip on wet rocks is just scary. I'm a generally athletic and surefooted 20 something year old, and i've never had my feet come out from under me like they have in these boots on off-grade wet (or even sometimes dry) rocks. More than once i've watched my GF shoot across something in her Danners (which should be cheaper boots by all account) only to watch me slip out and have to crawl across. The last time it happened I almost smacked my head on a rock, and had hang for a while to catch my composure. Maybe this sounds dramatic to some, but a tumble in the backcountry can turn serious quick and I'd want to feel comfortable trusting my boots. For this reason, I unfortunately can't recommend these boots to anyone

Had high hopes
1 December 2022

I'm so gutted! I had purchased these based on positive reviews from friends and what I read on the internet, I had worn them for a couple of hours per week walking the dog in long wet grass and they passed the waterproof test and they were comfortable I wore thick woolen socks . I recently walked the kepler track and had terrible problems with the boots causing irritation to my Achilles and the tendon on my right ankle . I ended up walking the rest of the track in Socks and my hut sandals. The track isn't technical so it was fine . I thought the boots would be fine after the first day after "breaking them in " 😒 but no, the areas flared up as soon as i walked 50 meters.so they aren't for me. Boo 😪

Ordering my second pair
20 August 2023

I am a long time scout leader and have had several different types and styles of books over the years. This is the first time that I will be ordering a second pair of the same boot. These boots have severed me very well for weekend camping trips and light backpacking adventures. I have also used these around the house and at work for days that I need a boot. The reason for the second pair is that the soles are starting to separate from the bottom, other then that, they are beat up, but fine. They are the most comfortable boot that I have ever owned and I look forward to getting my second pair soon.

Scarpa Terra Gore-Tex Mens Walking Boot
24 January 2023

I broke my ankle when out walking a few years ago (requiring a helicopter rescue and a Christmas Day operation) and walking wearing boots without discomfort has been difficult - so I have tended to stick to walking shoes, even in the mountains. But it was time to get a pair of boots again. These boots are very comfortable, but provide sufficient support and protection for a day out in most environments. Obviously, they are not suitable for challenging winter conditions in the high mountains, but for most less difficult walking they have performed well. They have kept my feet dry in wet conditions and seem to breath well - but I have not used them in hot weather yet.

Scarpa Terra Gore-Tex Mens Walking Boot
15 November 2023

I bought my first pair of Scarpa Terra GTX boots about a year ago. I've walked regularly in them, in testing conditions, including a number of Lake District summits, and wet winter walks in Cornwall. When cleaned and polished, they look just like new. They have been unfailingly comfortable and waterproof. My second pair, just like the first, were comfortable straight out of the box. I anticipate years of enjoyable walking in them.

Scarpa unisex boots. Comfortable from the start but don't buy if working around smooth, wet rocks.
4 February 2024

The boots fitted well and were very comfortable from the first time I wore them. I purchased them for biological field work in northern NSW rainforests including work along streams. The boots were comfortable and provided good support and traction in the bush. However, there is one potentially dangerous flaw: they provide absolutely no traction on smooth, wet rocks. This is qdisappointing given their cost and the fact that they perform well in all other situations.

Stylish, waterproof, comfortable boots.
5 September 2024

These are extremely comfortable boots that are stylish enough to wear to work and going out after a day of hiking. I've just completed a 5 day trek in the Andes and I was the only person without blisters or foot/ankle pain. These are truly waterproof and breathable. My feet did not sweat. A little bit tight on my pinky toes but i have narrow heel/ankles and appreciated the snug fit. Note, the leather does change colour as they get wet and dusty but still look good with a quick brush and wipe down.
