This bread has a really lovely subtle sourdough flavor that I really enjoy. However, it is unreasonably small. I mean that slices are about the size of my palm. I had to pack two sandwiches for an average day just to get the equivalent of normal bread sizing, which burns through the pack very quickly. It's a shame, because it might otherwise be my preferred taste!

I won’t beat around the bush, it isn’t like ‘normal bread’, but in my opinion it definitely isn’t bad either!! - I like it! I feel like schars priority is the taste, and I like it’s taste. I’ve tried a few gluten free breads and this is the best I’ve tried. Its pretty dense, I’d say more dense than ‘normal bread’. I found it’s very dry as bread, but on the plus side it doesn’t really crumble as I’ve heard other gluten free bread does. And nevertheless, I still eat it as bread despite its dryness as that doesn’t bother me too much now I’m more use to it - having said this many might think it’s better as toast - I do think it’s particularly good as toast. And if you add ‘toppings’ to it like peanut butter, I personally think it’s lovely, and it tastes less like ‘GF’ ... MoreI won’t beat around the bush, it isn’t like ‘normal bread’, but in my opinion it definitely isn’t bad either!! - I like it! All in all, I think it’s a great GF bread and one I’ve been eating on and off through my IBS flare ups for a long while. I’d definitely recommend!

Ocado needs to change its storage handling because the bread packaging arrives very cold and covered in water. Either that or the producer is producing bread that moulds on opening. Either way, a whole loaf goes in the bin by the following morning making it a complete waste of money.
Schar make the best gluten free bread hands down! It tastes like the real thing and doesn't give me tummy ache like most of the others seem to do. The only thing I would say is that they should make the slices bigger! I'd love a full sized loaf.
Ive tried so many GF breads that pale into I significance against this. I found this by chance when served it at a restaurant and they gave me the information. Two slices every morning toasted with sliced banana squashed on top whilst still hot. Just delightful. The only problem is stopping at two! So the chances are Ill repeat it for lunch! Ah well! Im old and can please myself!
I have given 5 stars as it tastes so good. When you first open the pack, you can use the bread as a side as it’s soft then I freeze the rest. It makes great toast. The texture is more sourdough maybe. The butter soaks in and it’s indulgent. That’s why I don’t mind the slices being small. Another winner by Schar.
The bread itself is very tasty, however the slices are very small. Toast wise I need 3-4 slices to feel satisfied and Im not the biggest of eaters. I also find it tends to brown unevenly in the toaster. The edges burn but the middle stays very light.
Known for its gluten-free recipe, why then do Schar insist on adding in soya protein - another common allergen? Their recipe needs a re-think if they are to widen their sales, but sadly not to me as it stands.
Yes the slices are smaller than normal bread but I don't care or think its a big deal. Its still 300 grams of bread in a pack and it freezes well too. This taste like and feels like normal bread. I'm very happy with it. And yes it's more expensive than regular bread but 2.50 is hardly worth crying over. I'm happy with it. You get what you pay for.
