This is a replacement for my previous Schlage Camelot electronic deadbolt. I am rather disappointed that the previous lock bricked itself after five years or so with no obvious cause. I would just alarm continuously as soon as you attached the batteries. As far as the replacement lock, I am greatly disappointed with Schlage and/or Home Depot. The selection of finishes available at my local store was much smaller than previously and they were charging different amounts for different finishes. Welcome to market pricing.

Love this Schlage lock! It connects to my SmartThings hub, and I get alerts whenever it is locked and unlocked. And now my daughter has no excuse if she forgets her keys (frightening how frequently that happens). The install was about as expected - if you are familiar with installing locksets, it isn't a challenge. Setup was straightforward and the instructions were accurate. Very high security rating. The only minor gotcha is that it only comes with one key. Granted, the key is a backup, but nice to have a couple copies, just in case.

I received this "smart" lock and installed it. I wish you good luck setting up for smart home use. There are several Schlage apps, but there needs to be an indication on the paperwork on which app to use for this particular lock. After going through the signup process on three different schlage home apps, I'm uninstalling and sending them back. A $300 lock shouldn't be so much work.

Z-Wave lock/unlock works great, keycodes work well, key itself works great although I almost never use it. Powered locking mechanism is very loud though and the keypad stopped responding once in the past month, I had to take the batteries out and put them back in to reset it. On Z-Wave, it appears to broadcast a sensor for door opened or closed which always says open regardless of the lock state (although the lock state itself, locked or unlocked, is always correct, but I wish the door open/closed state was correct too so I could know if the door is actually closed before locking it remotely!). I'm very happy with this and extra happy that the vendor could rekey it to my existing key. I bought this "SMART" deadbolt to upgrade an old manual Weiser lock set in our suite's entrance. Right out of the box I noticed the quality was excellent. The instructions were clear and it was easy to install. I use a Hubitat Hub to connect and control the lock and it is so easy to change and update my settings via my pc or my iPhone. I will say that when you send a command to the lock it is a little noisy but it works every time and that is what I need. this is a great smart lock and I am happy with my purchase.
This lock is installed in a protected area and is not used on a daily basis - in fact, rarely used. It worked fine for first 2 years...then it started eating batteries. I was replacing batteries every few weeks even though lock had only been used 1 or 2 times. Called today - sorry, warranty is only 3 years, too bad. 3 year warranty on electronics on a $200+ item???!! Piece of garbage did not last 4years!!It will be replaced but NOT WITH ANOTHER SCHLAGE!!
I have invested at least 5 hours of my time getting this digital lock to work. They said finally the NEW lock that never worked was defective. They sent a new one.Schlage DID NOT offer to pay a lock person to install it AGAIN!! I took 90 minutes of my time to do this with their tech on the phone. And, the original tech gave me bad info--said all I had to do was switch out the inside mech. NOT. the whole lock!! The real digital benefit does not work unless you have a digital alarm system--FYI. All it does is unlock if you are physically at it. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING ANY SMART SCHLAGE LOCKS.
I bought this lock about 2 years ago. After about 18 months it started burning through batteries about every 2 weeks. When I called (and waited on hold for 30 minutes) Schlage they said it was the "power chip" that was bad in all these locks. They quickly sent me a new lock...which I had to install the complete mechanism. The new lock started to act up immediately...sometimes it worked and sometimes it was dead for a couple of minutes but recovered. Now it has completely stopped working. I put in new batteries and it is still dead. I'm glad I had a key hidden outside the house so I could get in.I'm tired of replacing the lock, so I will have to buy a new lock, but it will not be a Schlage (or anything made by Allegion).
This is our SECOND same lock ! We moved into our NEW HOME / NEW BUILD had the same lock for 1 year one day the lock just stopped working - changed the batteries and it worked for maybe 2 months after. Jan 14th I repurchased the SAME LOCK - why, because the door is cut for that lock so easy right . 3 months and 20 days later the lock stopped working AGAIN! I called HOME DEPOT and of course they cant help cause I'm 20 day past the 90 day return policy, waiting to see if SCHLAGE can help REPLACE!
My Schlage Model BE468ZP Keyless Entry Lock is completely unreliable. The problem was brought to Schlage's attention and they sent me a new one that has exactly the same problem. I am continuing to experience instances where my Schlage keyless lockwill not respond to my entry code. It acts completely dead. Thebatteries are brand new Duracell alkalines and are verified good. Once the lockis operated manually with a key, it responds normally until the nextfailure.
