I like the lock quite a lot. The only reason I did not leave a 5-star review is that the backlight does not come on until after you touch the first number...which means that in the dark I cannot see the first number. More often than not, I have to reenter the code after the backlight illuminates the keypad. I have a different manufacturer lock (also digital) on my office. All I have to do is touch the keypad and the light comes on...and then I can enter the combination...which makes this much more functional in the dark. I was so impressed with this Lock and I spoke with her about it, and she said she was extremely happy, and had never had any issues with it, when I got home, I looked for the same lock and unfortunately I could not find it so I settled for the Schlage Encode. The first one I bought lasted approximately nine months and then it locked up on me so I called Schlage and they sent another lock out. The second one lasted probably six months and it also died. Again, I called Schlage and they sent out a new lock, the third lock died. I’m guessing within 14 months and I called slag. Needless to say I’m pretty skeptical about this new lock but when the weather warms up I will be installing it in my door.My husband who was a carpenter swore by Schlage stating that they were the best locks on the market so I was quite happy when I stayed at the Airbnb and she had a Schlage Lock and said she had never had any problems with it. On the other hand, have had nothing but problems with three Schlage locks. I’m very skeptical about moving forward, but I’m going to give it a try.

I bought this for a home that I occasionally rent out. I have an owners closet with some personal items that I was frequently forgetting to bring the key with me. I don’t like to store a key on site for security reasons and this was a great option. Installation was super easy. Programming was super easy. It looks great and it works great now I just have to remember a four digit code. Wish me luck.

Really nice looking & feels solid. Have problems losing wifi connectivity despite strong signal. Bad- Only way to get #'s to light up on keypad is to touch a number, however if it's not the first # in ur code u have to hit another button to start over, which then the #s go dark again... no proximity auto unlock with the app is a bummer - have to physically open app to lock/unlock the door via ur phone. For the price, should definitely have a proximity auto unlock function in my opinion. May be a deal breaker, but going to try it for a while as definitely still better than using a key.
I bought one to try out and once I played with it a bit. They're super easy to install and operate. Just remember to restore factory reset if you have trouble connecting the Wi-Fi. One either minor complaint the access keys for ce people to download the app and it makes for a confusing process for everyone involved. You cannot just share the code if you use the keys. The person has to activate it on the other side and there's an automated code generated. It's much preferable to create access codes yourself. I planned to sync with guesty app for our Airbnb down the road for more automated process. Batteries seem to be the last thing. Well. Very important to all your strike plates are where they need to be So the lock mechanism glides effortlessly.
HOA exterior door paint job was perfect timing for me to replace my old deadbolt lock on my front door. I believe this is one of the best - I've if the best because this is the first keyless lock I've tried and it is absolutely perfect for my needs. Great features - one if them is I can set the door to automatically lock within choice settings. I can also just press the lock icon on door when I leave and done. I'm able to set combination entry numbers for my family and friends and pretty easy to change. I highly recommend getting this one and it has a manual key in case automatic or wifi connection fails. I hope I will not have to reset everything if wifi fails...
This is third purchase and may buy more. Great for Airbnb and finally now our own door. Can't overstate the convenience of keyless!*Note: we did have to re-chisel the deadbolt hole inour doorjamb which was funky to begin with. So be aware installation may require a bit of carpentrydepending on your door set up. The deadbolt deviceitself is very easy to set up following theinstructions.Like many things the price is double from pre-pandy.
I bought this a couple months ago because I needed a lock to the door leading into garage. It was very easy to install and set up.It maintains a connection to the WiFi and I haven’t had any issues controlling it remotely. It has a setting where you can have it automatically lock after a certain time interval so you never have to worry if it’s locked or not.It’s easy to add passcodes.Of all the Schlage smart locks I’ve owned, this was the easiest to install and had no issues after installation.The price is the only thing I wish was a little different.
We installed the Camelot Schlage with the digital entry code last week. Wow, what an upgrade. For the past 4 years we have had a competitors digital entry door knob but it always felt loose and would often have to “reconnect” to the battery system forcing us to put the code in multiple times while holding groceries etc. My teenagers literally broke the internal components when one on each side tried to open the door at the same time. Now enter the Schlage! Sturdy and beautiful! The buttons are the perfect amount of firm and cushioned. The lighted display is easy to read at night.
