I was looking for a quality range hood that had a better airflow without the noise that comes from higher fan speeds. Schweigen has the benefit of the externally mounted fan, but having larger diameter ducting, a bigger surface area and getting the basic design right has made all the difference.I would hose your new unit in a cabinet as the traditional hoods attract dust. I have never used any rangehood before my kitchen renovation. I am so glad that I picked Schweigen for my new kitchen. It is super silent, powerful suction and easy function. Cleaning is a breeze. No more lingering kitchen ador from cooking! I would definitely recommend Schweigen.

Now I can cook AND hear what's going on around me, even hold a conversation!It also works great and looks great. But did I mention the lack of irritating noise???!!!!

I bought this rangehood 11 months ago during my major renovation. I installed it myself which was quite easy with well explained instructions. Due to my house configuration the only way I could install the ducting was vertically through my ceiling space and travelled 6mtrs in length. To be honest I was very worried that at that distance the rangehood motor won't be powerful enough to vent the air outside. But it does it with easy no more cooking smell travelling through the house. The internal rangehood is very quite as the motor is installed externally.Overall I'm very very satisfied with this product and cannot fault it.
We bought our rangehood a few years ago. We love it - it's silent and works wonders - in fact it's so silent sometimes I forget and leave it on. We have recommended it a number of people. However, we recently had an issue. I was so nervous that I would end up in a consumer battle. I am absolutely delighted that the team dealt with the issue efficiently and promptly. Love Schweigen even more now.
We bought this a year ago to go in our new kitchen. It is unbelievable, you never know it is on. We have had friends go outside to where it comes out & they still can't hear it. We are so happy with it & it works so well. We shake our head on how quiet it is even standing under it & cooking. Would highly recommend this product.
Having purchased this Schweigen Rangehood in our previous home, there was no doubt in our minds that we would have the same Rangehood installed in our new home. Not only does it look good but it is its quiet efficiency that pleases us most. We have already recommended it to a family member.
We just love the super quietness of this beautiful product and it's so easy to use the well-placed control buttons for operating the unit. Removing the filters to place in the dishwasher for cleaning is as simple as click and drop. Thank you Schweigen.
I bought the UM1170-9SP 5 years ago and have enjoyed it considerably. The powerful isodrive 1600 motor can run at its highest speed to remove unwanted cooking smells and smoke with very minimal noise inside the house. The filter elements are small enough to fit in the dishwasher.I enjoy cooking steak in a grill pan at high temperatures with butter which results in a lot of smoke. This rangehood is able to remove it all effortlessly and the kitchen and living areas stay clean.I have changed the bulbs for IKEA Tradfri dimmable smart LED bulbs and it is an essential part of our kitchen/living ambience.
It gives a unified seamless look as it is mounted underneath the cabinet. Yet it is so powerful that I only need to use the lowest speed setting, not to mention that the distance between my cooktop and rangehood is 800mm: 200mm more than standard. External motor contributes to a relatively quiet operation - much quieter then my old conventional rangehood.
