This was my first SIS purchase and it will be my last. I bought this product to use during long ride to keep me fueled. With only one flavour available on the website: strawberry and lime it was the only option. It's so sweet it is unpleasant to use and doesn't quench your thirst. What's more it's so sticky that your bottles and hands get covered in it. I ended up throwing it away and buying a bottle of water from a shop on the route. I'd advise avoiding it unless you have the taste buds of Willy Wonka or a six year old kid.

I’ve been using SiS for many years and finally gave this drink mix a go. I was hesitant that a single serving could dissolve in my typical Purist bike bottle but it did, and tasted great. 320 calories and 80g carb/bottle it’s efficient! I drank two, diluting with pure water in my hydration pack during a 6.5 hour mountain bike race along with eating beta fuel gels and I felt great. Definitely will be using these for big days moving forward!

BETA fuel is my go to energy drink mix if going out on a long training ride or in a multi stage cycling event. It tastes great, sits comfortably on the stomach. The sachets fit well in a jersey pocket so you can do a refill if required. 80g carbs is great in the high mountains. As someone who sweats a lot the other minerals are also important to stop cramps and they are also in the mix. Would highly recommend

I’m frankly shocked by how bad this dissolves. I used it during a 50M brutal race over the weekend and it was terrible (tried all flavors) I ended up with a ball of goo at the bottom of water bottle. If you have a shaker ball maybe that’s help. But I didn’t so I had a slime ball. Now if you can fish that out, it’s actually a tasty if not a little gross treat. Will not work with any nozzles or straws. This formula needs work. Taste is ok, function is ok but form is a mess.
This is probably the best deal out there on SIS beta fuel. You get a little bit of everything! With that being said, I love this stuff. I was a strictly Maurten loyal for years when It came down to hard and long training sessions. SIS beta fuel has since become my new favorite the 1:0.8 ratio works best for me. The flavors are actually tasty (compared to maurten) and go down smooth. Highly recommend 👌
I often make my own mix of maltodextrin and gatorade in a 2:1 ratio for training. I do so because it's cheaper and you end with w/ a 1.5-2:1 ratio of glucose & fructose. But I also keep beta fuel on hand for convenience and just to change things up once in a while. I also use it for road races, because it's convenient to travel with a few packets. It has worked well but you need to add your own sodium. I just buy electrolyte caps and dump them in my bottle, which is fine because I can dial exactly how much I want. But just don't use it alone and think it's a complete solution to endurance needs.Taste-wise, it is pretty sweet. Probably 2x as sweet as my home-made mix, so it might not be for everybody. I don't mind, though I'd totally be on board with reducing the ... MoreI often make my own mix of maltodextrin and gatorade in a 2:1 ratio for training. Love using this on my long runs (2+hours) on the trails. I feel like it hits me different than other products like tailwind for instance.even with taking gels and liquid nutrition, I still feel a little bonky during long runs. This has helped in that regard. Love the taste. I haven’t used it for an ultra yet, so can’t see how it works late into races. The packets are a little large (again compared to tailwind) but they can fit easily in a running vest. The packets pour easily into soft flasks. It could mix better, my issue so far was that it clumps at the bottom of my soft flask. Not too big of a deal. I will be training with this during the summer.
Since no one else can explain even their website. The Beta Fuel powder needs to be mixed in about 250ml water and shaken efficiently before introducing into most bottles. Mixes great, but i like to use a shaker bottle metal ball for best results.I use one 600ml bottle for Beta Fuel and one 600ml bottle for Beta Sodium tabs. Personally the Beta Fuel pouch is a tad too sweet so i take a gulp and fill it back up with water. If youre like me and normally are bad at fueling i promise you this was a game changer for me. The Beta Fuel kept me alert, happy and focused on my ride. A literal night and day difference then when not using it. I was very SCARED replacing the water bottle that didnt have something in it with this sweet carb mix i would hate, but man was i ... MoreSince no one else can explain even their website. The Beta Fuel powder needs to be mixed in about 250ml water and shaken efficiently before introducing into most bottles. I was very SCARED replacing the water bottle that didnt have something in it with this sweet carb mix i would hate, but man was i wrong!Nootropics gel is a lot of caffeine in one go, for me, before a ride. 200mg. I think this works best during a race. The gel is sticky ergo its an all or nothing unless youre keeping the extra in luggage.Beta Gels - tasty now come with 6 in the pack and tasty. Even the lemon. Not mad at them at all. Mid ride snack normally my go too after 40 miles on a 60-80 miler.
I absolutely hate this stuff. After seeing so many recommendations for beta fuel and the ration of carbs I bought some. First of all, this stuff does not mix well. If you are used to mixing this shortly before a ride putting it in the bike and going then think again. You’ll have to pre mix for at least 30 min. It simply does not mix with cold or warm water. Second of all and the worst part is the taste. It tastes horribly artificial. Tastes nothing like strawberry or lime. It’s bad enough that I don’t even want to drink this stuff. No matter how scientifically proven ratio of carbs it has, if I don’t like drinking it then I’m not getting carbs. Good thing I tried before using it in a race. I’m staying away from expensive beta fuel forever.
I used SIS for the 1st time during a 3 hour bike ride. SIS took the place of Gels that I normally use. My energy levels stayed consistent throughout the ride. SIS did not coat my tongue and was easy to swallow. I'm looking forward to using SIS again and throughout the winter and spring.I do wonder how SIS will taste when riding in the heat this summer. Hotter temperatures sometimes changes how thing taste and feel while drinking....
