I am 77 years old and have been using these sponges since they came on the market. And they were the best. However, the last packet I purchased was nothing like I've been used to - I thought I bought knock-off by accident, but I seen the name is as it should be.I'm so disappointed - How could you turn a great product into something from the dollar store. The sponge is stiff and wears out fast.

I'm echoing other reviews: I've used these sponges for years and years and they were so reliable. But now the scrubbing layer comes off after its first use. I thought it was a fluke the first time it happened, but the second sponge did the same thing. I recently visited my mom and saw that she had the same sponges. I tested one out and the same thing happened. I'm so disappointed! I used to buy this sponge without a second thought - I simply trusted the quality. I'm sorry I can't say that anymore.

We alse use NOVEC, specialty tapes Green and Purple pads and give 3M quite a lot of money during these thirty years because we trusted 3M to deliver very high quality products. However, we have had some problems that must be brought to your attention because, if not rectified, we will no longer purchase any more 3M products at any price. Beginning when your new CEO took office in June 2018, we have experienced a severe degradation in the 3M line of products especially with the 3M Blue Non-Scratch Sponges. Have used your brand for decades. It was the best (5 stars) on the market. However, this new design with the "wavy" edges and with one side now incorporated to be something like a scourer is, for me, a total flop. The wavy sides are a little annoying to work with and don't meld well with the sponge drying dish I use. The scourer part does not wipe well on smooth surfaces, which represent the majority of surfaces one has to deal with when washing, nor does it scour as well as a standalone scouring pad. I will be looking for something more conventional next time I need to buy some. I hope you bring back the old ones. They were well made and very durable. Some old sage once said, "if it ain't broke don't fix it".
I have been buying this sponges for years and since the pandemic I noticed the quality continuing going down hill. In this last package I just bought the sponge part started to disintegrate with in 3 days of use with pieces of sponge flaking off, having to catch the pieces before they go down the drain. In addition to the scrub piece is separating from the sponge. Not the 3M Product that I'm used to. Looks like I'll have to switch to another brand.

Lately these ScotchBrite sponges last only 2-3 days before they begin to fall apart & separate! (See Pix. The glue is visible and appears to be intentionally water soluble). Obviously 3M changed the glue adhesive to a cheaper one. (Old adhesive was a light yellow, new adhesive is a deep mustard yellow... please see pix). I believe its all an effort to increase sales by their Marketing Team by cheapening the glue thus reducing its usable life by half... and you can completely forget about running them through a dishwasher cycle or two, that caused them to completely come apart. I have been purchasing this product for many years and have always been happy until now. The sponges are thinner and they are falling apart. As soon as I started to use the sponge, I could tell it was thinner. Just the feel of it was not right. I am also finding tiny pieces of the sponge in the sink. They are not holding up like they used to. I plan to find another sponge to use if this is the new 3M standard.
I can’t believe I’m wrong a sponge review but I love these sponges and….They changed their sponges! I just purchased my usual giant pack of scotch brites from Costco only to find out that, after years and years, I don’t know like 15 years of using only these sponges- they’ve changed them. Quality control issue maybe. They are thinner and the green side is very stiff- too much glue- so you can’t bend them easily to wash whatever. Please bring back the old version- I can’t use these.
Purchased a six pack of these sponges over the weekend. The blue scrubbing layer peeled off after scrubbing one fork. Had to throw the sponge away because there was exposed glue and frankly the sponge looked disastrous. Tried another sponge from the same pack last night and the same thing happened. Top layer started peeling off and by the time I was finished with the small load of dishes, the layer was completely off. Very disappointing, this shouldn't happen. I did take photos and email the company.
I used to love these sponges but recently noticed the quality has gone down. It’s quite noticeable. I typically use these for my kitchen and bathroom. I would rotate from the kitchen counter to the bathroom weekly. I always buy the large pack. I just so happened to still have one of the old ones before they changed recently and the new ones are so THIN. You can literally see the difference in the photos. The one on the left is the old one and the right is the new one. I’m looking for alternatives because these are barely lasting a week now. Change them back!
