I chose this so called Premium Garden Soil but found that rather than premium soil, each bag had a high proportion of coarse wood chips.This is not fairly described on the bag and is disappointing coming from Scotts, a company with a high reputation.The Hortico equivalent product was superior to this Scotts Osmocote product.

I find this Garden Soil Premium Planting Mix excellent for all my planting pots. It retains moisture and with the Osmocote feeds my plants and bulbs. It is also good for surrounding new seedlings when being planted in my garden. I highly recommend this product.

The soil may be good. I trust those reviewers who gave high ratings. The problem I countered is more than once is that the soil was full of moulds. One bag was widely torn when delivered. But even others with no appearance of torn bag were full of moulds. Either poor packing on the part of the manufacturer or the seller, or careless handling by the courier might be responsible for the problem.As always, Bunnings customer service was quick and helpful to respond when I complained. But I'd rather have no problems with the products I purchase, and no extra after-sale services needed.

Have compared this one with Richgro All Purpose Potting Mix and the Brunnings All Season Potting Mix. My recomendation would be Osmocote > Richgro > Brunings. The OSmocote has not only the best quality soil, but also much less bark mulch into it. It is a pure high quality SOIL.
I have struggled to use this because it just wasn’t what I needed. I thought I was getting a planting mix (that could also accommodate seedlings). It is instead semi-composted bits of bark and twigs. Traces of plastic too. Not happy. The cucumber seedlings mostly survived but not much else.
When preparing to pot bare root roses l, I like to go for a 50/50 mix of this garden / potting mix soil and one specifically for roses. Not only is it easier on the pocket, but also I find the roses don’t get too much of a shock when I transplant them into the ground at a later stage.
I’ve purchased about 6 bags this year. I use it when I need to enhance the top soil on top of my most clay garden, or for planting veggie seedlings into pots. The texture is even, no lumps of rock etc. I’ve purchased a cheaper brand before and was disappointed, so I’ll stick with Osmocote Garden Soil now.
You may have dirt at your place, but you are kidding yourself if you call it garden soil without some of this thrown about. My garden has grown in leaps and bounds because of this garden soil, who knew. Take some home with pride and watch your garden grow.
It’s the best soil I ever bought. Remains the water so plants don’t dry out to quick. Love it. Also the cheaper product is having issues wit a lot of little flies.
I have purchased this Soil for over 12 months.I have repaired my front and back lawns duringlast years drought and I would highly recommendit. My lawns look very healthy again. Today I repotted some of my Native Plants using this soil and I purchased 6 bags, as I’ve always sieved it before putting into the pots, I was really disappointed to find a really big stones throughout it, but very alarmed to find “ broken Glass” throughout it. I am going to let our local Bunnings know as it could be a one of - but I was very pleased I had gardening gloves on today.
