This clay does not air dry so your little artist can work it over and over until it's right for them. It bakes up easily (10 minutes at 250) and creates the cutest little things. My granddaughter is having a blast playing with it.

Although I use Premo in my own work (which is preferable for millefiore canes or more detailed work), Sculpey Bake Shop is perfect for kids and I buy it regularly. It's easy to condition the clay and mix colors. Only drawback is that it can get really "sticky" in hot weather so make sure to store it properly.As for the other reviews, there should be no problems with baking as long as you follow the instructions. Keep in mind that different ovens can give different results - just be sure your oven temperature is accurate and your clay is not too close to the heating element or it will burn. My daughter wanted to get started with polymer clay. 12 colors (although the amounts are a bit small) was enough for her to try making a number of things. Each project was small (dollhouse accessories), so the baking times / temp were spot on. The items did feel a little soft out of the oven, but were much harder after cooling. Using a 50% off coupon made this an excellent value.
I bought this as a starter kit for polymer clay projects. I think overall it's ok. The amount you get for each color is around half of what you would get if you just purchased the colors separate. Also the baking times do not work for me. I have now baked a bowl at 275 for 45 minutes and it still has a little give to it. I wanted to make ornaments for Christmas and that's what I did. Still learning how to use clay with the bake times and gloss...
This will be the third time I’ve purchased this product. When I was a kid (and still today) I loved making clay figures, but always bought sculpey 2 or 3. It is often really hard and I have to knead it a lot to work with it. I have my own kids now and my son has started enjoying using my clay. We got him some Bake Shop clay for Christmas as it’s supposed to be softer (he’s 4). He loves it! I have even switched to buying this type of clay since it is so much easier to work with. Baking has not presented any issues for me. Follow the instructions for time and temp. I hope they keep making this clay!
I love this for teaching elementary school children. But, the yellow is a little harder to work with than it used to be. Great product!
