Best clay on the market!

I love Premo! The color range is amazing, and it's workability is wonderful! I haven't yet had a package that was too hard to condition! The pearl colors are my favorite, especially Peacock pearl. The only downside is that all the colors aren't available in craft stores. I'm a girl who doesn't like shipping, so I usually buy in store and I would love if local craft stores had more colors, but I understand that's not Sculpey's fault! Premo is an excellent clay for beginners, as it's easy to work with, yet super strong. I highly highly recommend Sculpey Premo for everyone!

Easier to use with Arthritic hands.

I find the Sculpey Premo much easier to use with my arthritic hands. The clay is softer so it's easier to manipulate into the shapes/designs I want to make my earrings. I started using Sculpey clay products on my 3-D sculpted tumblers, Super Sculpey & Original. Super Sculpey is great for that, but also harder on my hands to use. They would get sore faster, making tumblers then when I make earrings. I love that I can sculpt with Premo and put a texture on it with various methods. Great clay products all around as far as I am concerned.

This was my first time using any type of oven baked clay and i found it much firmer than I expected. However,I purchased the clay “pasta machine” and used it to condition the clay which made things much better. I made a grip for my work tablet. The hinge had broke off the tablets case leaving sharp edges. I formed the clay, baked and used gorilla glue to attach the clay grip to the plastic. It works really well. I would definitely make some design changes and work slower next time. The clay apparently doesn’t dry out but I have only ( rarely) used traditional clay so I rushed it. I can’t say it’s beautiful but it works well as a grip and a stand. I’m looking forward to making more with this clay.

Good clay for the most part

Good clay for the most partI have been buying Sculpey Premo polymer clay from Michaels for several years now. I not only make small critter sculptures for sale, but I also teach at the local senior center, libraries and art gallery. All-in-all Premo is a good clay. It "normally" conditions up well and is fairly durable if baked correctly. I am however, very disappointed that Sculpey has done away with so many vibrant colors in favor of washed out, pale colors. I would also like Sculpey to work on the flexibility of the Premo line in comparison to some of its competitors.

Great clay, but super humorously disappointing.
24 March 2023

So excited to try this one! But i was so disappointed when i finally got home and opened the package. Haha kinda comical really. And seemed so obvious to me after I was starting to cut off a chunk. I dont know if i want to say why, i dont want to spoil it for the Sculpey company or whatever. But i will say, this is one hunk of clay that is better left on its own, or super mixed in with another color or maybe as a very thin top or bottom layer on the final project (if making canes and such) cutting trough it is a pain and will ruin your canes if your not using an extremely sharp blade. But its is nice on its own for a moon shape or teardrop or with some alcohol inks even. Now the comical but disappointing part, ill have to leave out but once you purchase the Opal ... MoreSo excited to try this one! Not impressed
21 December 2023

I bought 3 different colors. This was the best of the 3, but still terrible. I’ve used scullery before and I have never had an issue like today. My 8 year old son (who is the size of a 12 year old) and I both could not make this clay soft. We went to the website to get some tips and we used the baby oil option it gave. We were then able to flatten it but still not very well and definitely could not shape it. Terrible experience. Had to throw away.

Repairing a fish's martini glass
12 February 2024

I use a LOT of Sculpy, so usually it's the eight-pound super economy sized box of utilitarian red/brown. But recently, I discovered that one of my favorite Christmas ornaments, Marlin Monroe (picture a blond-bombshell wearing a red glitter mermaid tail) had broken her martini glass. Can't have THAT.I bought a square of Premo Sculpy Accents in translucent and fashioned a replacement. Awesome sauce! You can't tell it apart from the original martini glass.I am quite pleased with myself.
