The sE Electronics Voodoo VR-2 Active Ribbon Microphone marks a new era for ribbon mic technology – until now the only ribbon mic in the world to perform across 20 Hz - 20 kHz was the sE/Rupert Neve collaboration, the RNR1, critically acclaimed as the best Ribbon mic in the world. I purchased this microphone to record my solo double bass compositions; and I was amazed by the authentically pure sound it delivered coming through my Tascam Model 12 and KRK Classic monitor speakers. I have not used it for live performances but I believe it will give same results.

I purchased this microphone to record my solo double bass compositions; and I was amazed by the authentically pure sound it delivered coming through my Tascam Model 12 and KRK Classic monitor speakers. I have not used it for live performances but I believe it will give same results.

Unbelievable mic for the price. Crisp but very smooth high end whilst still retaining the weight and warmth in lower frequencies. Absolutely love it. Prefer this over many other more expensive mics in the locker. Highly recommended

It translates a very detailed sound with great low end without sounding woofy. I've recorded a double bass with excellent results.
