Our most versatile sleeping bag is designed for various temperatures. In colder conditions, you can cinch down the technical hood, zip up the draft-tube protected zippers, and rely on the 750+ Ultra-Dry Goose Down to keep you warm. In warmer weather, the Free-Flow Zip system allows you to unzip in different configurations for superior ventilation, and it can even open flat to turn the Ascent sleeping bag into a quilt on the warmest nights. These features make the Ascent a true three-season backcountry bag, one of very few on the market. You can close the snaps at the shoulders, open the footbox zipper, and wear the Ascent at camp—hardcore adventures don't have to be hard all the time.

As soon as you open the bag this feels like a high quality sleeping bag. The material is super soft and doesn’t sound scratchy so it’s not noisy when rolling over. The down lining is very warm so like it says it will be perfect for cold weather camping. The versatility of all of the zippers and openings make this not only a sleeping bag but a comfy blanket or almost coat that could be easily worn sitting by the campfire. I love the fact that it comes with both a compact bag for traveling and a storage bag as that allows for both easy travel and storage.

Great for sleeping, decent for bikepacking

I went from a $30 amazon mat to this. It checks all the boxes: it's comfortable, it's quiet, it stays inflated all through the night, and it's really easy to inflate/deflate. With the stuff sack, inflating only takes me three breaths. I am 5'10 and 170lbs, back and side sleeper. With a size Regular, I have room at the head and foot and have no issue staying on the pad. I've paired this with the Sea to Summit Ascent 25-degree bag and been warm in 35 degree nights no problem. Haven't tested colder. My only complaint is, I honestly thought it was going to be a bit smaller than it is. It's definitely taller and wider than the $30 Sleepingo pad I bought previously, which inflates to the same size. Yes it's warmer, and easier to inflate, and more comfy, but it's bigger ... MoreI went from a $30 amazon mat to this. If you're going for an ultralight, small bikepacking pad, there are probably pads that pack a little smaller for a little more money—but this one checks every other box for me.

With excitement I purchased the Ascent 0*F Down Sleeping Bag in preparation for my upcoming Autumn thru hike of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. I recently took it to Crested Butte, CO, on a field test and have to say that it lived up to all of the hype!Night time temperatures were in the mid to upper 30s. I am a very cold sleeper and the bag held up to its specified temperature range. (Thank goodness!) I used my Reactor extreme thermo lite sleeping bag liner on the coldest night because of the way I like to sleep in order to be comfortable. I am a side and back sleeper who abhors the restrictions of classic, narrow, ultra-lite and lite weight mummy bags. I mostly sleep on my side with my arms folded up in front of me. I used my Reactor extreme thermo lite sleeping bag liner on the coldest night because of the way I like to sleep in order to be comfortable. I am a side and back sleeper who abhors the restrictions of classic, narrow, ultra-lite and lite weight mummy bags. I mostly sleep on my side with my arms folded up in front of me. With a normally sized women's specific mummy bag this is impossible to manage. This bag, with it's relaxed dimension, was wide enough for me to be able to lay comfortably with my bent arms out in front of me while still keeping it fully zipped. WOOHOO!!!I used the liner on the colder nights because I dislike having the hood and opening cinched around me. If I had done that I doubt I would have needed the liner because cold air wouldn't have been coming in the top. On another chilly night I used the liner as a sheet like layer at the top- by the opening, to keep out the draft because again, I didn't want it cinched around me. The generous inner draft tube would prevent cold air coming in if you used this bag in a standard way.I'm 5'4 and medium framed in general, but seem to have wider shoulders than a lot of women. That's partly why I went with this unisex bag instead of the women's specific equivalent, because I like and need to have more room in the shoulders in order to rest comfortably, given the way I like to spread out my arms and legs when lying on my back. There was a good amount of room for me throughout this bag. It was an exceptional thing to be able to spread out and stretch my legs a bit rather than having them feeling bound up in the usually very narrow foot end of the bag. And many lite and ultra-lite women's specific bags are cut shorter than they should be in an effort to shave off some weight. It was refreshing to rest in a more spacious bag knowing that it would still pack up small enough to fit in my 62L pack without hogging too much space and would be light enough not to break my back out on the trail. The ascent can accommodate people a lot taller than me since it's a unisex bag. Personally I like having the extra room at the bottom without adding too much weight to the overall bag. The extra space means I can stuff my clothes for the morning and my down jacket if I'm not wearing it, into the bottom end of the bag. That makes more insulation in the toe box on colder nights and elevation for my feet if I want it. This means I don't have to throw on icy clothing in the chill of the morning. For years I've been uncomfortable and less than satisfied using various, narrow mummy bags. I find them way too restrictive. But I endured it in exchange for the weight savings narrower bags can give you. I have finally gotten to the point where I don't want to do that anymore because good sleep is so important to me. With other bags I would end up unzipping them most of the way, sticking my feet in the zipped end with the open side down, and using them like a quilt. I was always still too cold but more comfortable position-wise. With the Ascent I have the option to unzip it fully and use it as a quilt if I want to. That is so exciting for warmer weather! This bag is going to rock on my thru hike because of its versatility in design. When I start my trip it'll be warm at night so I'll be able to use it as a quilt and let some air in. Then as I progress it's going to get really cold and humid at night. At that time I can zip it up fully, use the liner when needed and/or cinch it snugly around my head if need be.The temperature rating is accurate for a unisex bag. The design, including the baffling construction, double sided half zip for venting, and the quilt option, are excellent for those who value a lot of extra comfort and diversity over shaving off a few ounces. This bag is totally lite enough for its features and temperature rating. The roominess to weight ratio is dreamy...For me and for anyone who wants versatility and more room inside of the bag in order to finally sleep comfortably while camping and out on the trail- especially the long thru hiking trail, the roomier nature of the Ascent 0* as a relaxed mummy bag is SO WORTH the few extra ounces being added to your thru hike load. I would choose this bag over a slightly lighter weight but more restrictive bag any day!

Purchased the Ascent Down Sleeping Bag 0F for our recent camping trip to the Great Sand Dunes National Park were the temps dropped to mid-20F over night. We also got the Fleece Insert for just in case moments but we probably didn't need it for the warmth but for the protection of the bags. This bag... wow, constructed so warm and super comfy. Great design as it packs down so small even though we car camped. The only recommendation I have is to make the "phone pocket" bigger. It would probably fit a flip phone from 2 decades ago... and my ear plugs. Overall well constructed, love the multi zippers... I was initially worried as more zippers might let in more air.. but it was so well built that the bag held the heat in so well. I would survive in even colder weather ... MorePurchased the Ascent Down Sleeping Bag 0F for our recent camping trip to the Great Sand Dunes National Park were the temps dropped to mid-20F over night. Not as warm as expected
18 April 2024

I bought my Act this week and used it in approx 25 def F temps. I had to get up in the middle of the night and put on more layers. I had started with light socks, wool undershirt, and light wool cap. For me it is not as warm as the 15 degree bag advertised. The moon was shining bright and I noticed I could see it from inside the bag. All other aspects of the bag appear to be top quality and well thought out. Bag ID 1687.

Sleeping bag that keeps you warm
22 April 2024

I have never been a big camper because I do not like the cold, but this sleeping bag makes it all worth it! It keeps you so warm and it condenses so you’re not carrying around a big sleeping bag. It was perfect for both me and my fiancй so both genders are able to use it. It was a little bit bigger on me, but it’s still a great idea for camping! If you’re an avid camper, it’s a great investment.

Received this free from Influenster to review and give honest feedback. I am so looking forward to camping now. Not that I wasn't before, but this little baby is going to keep me warm. It fits like no other sleeping bag I have ever owned. So soft and comfortable. Filled with down, has a hoodie and the feet open up if I get too warm. Everything I could have asked for. Thanks to @influenster and @seatosummit for the opportunity to test this quality product.

I’ve used this sleeping during winter and still using in Utah. Lastly, I camped at Zion and I had a great experience for all of my stays. Firstly, the size is super good, I’m 5’5, 140lb and I still have a lot of room. The sleeping bag is really easy to pack and carry and as a plus lightweight! I didn’t have any problem while hiking it too. It incredibly soft and you can use the zipper to open anywhere. When I wake up I usually just wanna keep my feet open, and with this bag, I can do that easily just by using the zipper for the feet! So far, after camping in the wild, nothing happened to it, so it is durable and deserves the money. This is the one

I spend way too much time diligently researching my gear purchases. After many hours (okay, days) looking for a 0 degree for backpacking, I landed on this one. I'm 100% happy with it. The liner is plush and super comfy, it packs down small, and the zippers allow to vent when it's too warm. I don't have trouble with the zippers. I am a restless sleeper and I love being able to sleep in all positions in this bag. Yes, it is 5-8 ounces heavier than the ultralight options, but so worth it. I spend 2 weeks at a time I'm the field for work and this bag makes a huge difference. I've used it at 20-40 degree temps so far. At 40 I was all the way unzipped. At 32 I had the short zipper undone. At 20 I was comfy, and I would be confident bringing this bag to 0.

This sleeping bag is incredible! I’ve never had such a light bag before. I’m so used to those horrible thick flannel sleeping bags, but this bag is filled with down and can squish down to be super small and compact. it is absolutely perfect for backpacking because it is so small. What’s crazy is that it keeps you incredibly warm and you don’t sweat! No thick material, just high-quality down feathers keeping you insulated and warm. Love the mummy shape too as there’s no excess pointless fabric to worry about.
