I've been a long time user of titanium sporks. But the spork prongs often left food in the dish and the titanium grated the cockpit in an irritating way. I decided to switch to the Delta Long Spoon and have not been disappointed. The titanium and the plastic essentially weigh the same. It's dishwasher safe, doesn't grate the side of my cook pot, and cleans easier on trail than the titanium sporks. It's also dishwasher safe for when you get back home. Also, fun colors! The only negatives... potentially more prone to breaking than titanium. However, I don't doubt the Delta's durability. It's really strong. The biggest thing you'd want to be careful of is to not melt it on your stove. Ultimately, I'm glad I finally switched to this spoon.

I like this lightweight long handled spoon because it keeps your knuckles clean when eating out of the meal bags.... This one is sturdy with no metallic taste. The color makes it very easy to differentiate if I'm carrying both mine and my girlfriend's spoons. And the hoop on the end allows for me to hang it when it's not on a trip. All in all, it's a first rate essential item in my pack.

Yep, it's lighter than your long handle titanium spoons. Pretty tough too, haven't managed to damage one yet.Gotta keep it out of the fire...high heat can mess it up. Fantastic for normal usage!

This is my favorite for freeze dry food. On longer trips I will remove all but a couple of the freeze dried meals from their original packaging and put them in small baggies. I rinse and reuse 2 of the original freeze dried meal packaging, so I don't want a spork tearing up the inside of the meal bags. Then a few of us share one pot for boiling water only. I can fit many more meals in a bear canister this way. I also like that it is plastic and won't scratch my pot or be cold in my hands when cold weather camping.
This listing is a bit misleading. I thought it was a big cooking spoon so I can make camp meals and the longer handle would be great for cooking at a distance from the fire. Nope! It’s a regular spoon, just a bit longer. Not by much though. It’s a bit flimsy due to the lightweight feature. Definitely not worth $5. You can get more sturdier spoons that come in a set with a knife and fork for the same price.
I used this on a paddling trip to mix ingredients rather than as an eating utensil. Worked really well and cleaned better than a wooden spoon. One star off for being flimsier than a wooden spoon although still was plenty solid for bread dough and oatmeal cookies! And it looks cool.
Let's face it, this is a just a spoon. Nothing too technical about that. The sturdy long handle is a bonus and much appreciated while eating Peak Refuel or other freeze dried food while on my recent bear hunt. Stiff enough that it won't break and durable too. I do recommend this spoon based on price, function and frankly because the size of the spoon itself is more like a man's size, rather than the dainty little elementary school spork/spoon size of most every other backcountry eating tool. I mean hey, when you're tired and hungry in the mountains there's nothing that is a meal time buzz kill like eating with a little kiddy tea party set sized spoon or spork. But honestly at the end of the day, it's still a spoon and of the many I've used in the mountains this long ... MoreLet's face it, this is a just a spoon. Nothing too technical about that. Perfect long handled spoon that is very light and seems strong. Did consider a Titanium one but as I often eat out of a metal cook pot I can’t stand the sound of metal on metal so this spoon is a perfect alternative.
It’s a lightweight long handle spoon. Does what it was bought for. Only negative is that it feels slightly flimsy if compared to metal spoons. Bought this instead of titanium because the plastic won’t damage any coatings on my cookware.
After having a few non-metal long spoons, this is the first one I have found that can take the abuse of the trail. Super strong and able to survive large spoonfuls of thick oatmeal, couscous, soup, stew, whatever! If you have had utensils break on you in the past, buy this instead! It gets all the way down where you need it, wile keeping your hands away from hot steam and food particulate. The only thing it might not get through is frozen ice cream, but even metal can struggle there.
