A less expensive and less bulky alternative to traditional dry bags. You can squash these into spots ordinary heavy dry bags won't go. Fits into little corners of a sea kayak or light enough to take backpacking or adventure traveling. Suitable to keep contents dry in any wet situation where the bag is not submerged. PRODUCT DETAILS Lightweight 70D nylon with fully taped seams 10,000mm waterhead, lightweight durable nylon Polyurethane coating with white pigment for greater interior visibility Hypalon roll top closure D-ring attachment point at buckle Round base on all sizes Use backpacking, cycle touring, paddling, general boating Proper Use Any roll-top dry sack must be closed properly to ensure water can't get in. Begin by folding the Hypalon strip down first and be sure to have at least three rolls before closing the buckle. Avoid contact with sharp objects or subjecting the sack to high abrasion, as this could compromise the waterproof fabric. Like all manufacturers of roll-top, fabric dry sacks, Sea to Summit recommends that sensitive electronic devices be 'double bagged' (i.e. putting electronics inside one dry sack then placing this inside a second dry sack). For maximum protection, the use of a waterproof hard case should be considered. Not intended for situations where dry sack will be submerged under water.

As a backpacking guide, a lightweight dry bag is an essential piece of gear that you can rely on to keep your equipment dry and protected from the elements. Here's my review of the lightweight dry bag that I use on my trips:The lightweight dry bag that I use is a 8L model, which is the perfect size for carrying a sleeping bag, extra clothes, and other gear that I want to keep dry. It's made from high-quality materials that are both waterproof and abrasion-resistant, so I don't have to worry about it getting damaged during my trips. As a backpacking guide, I need to keep my pack as light as possible, so every ounce counts. This dry bag is made from lightweight materials that don't add any unnecessary weight to my pack. It's also very compressible, which makes it easy to pack in tight spaces. The roll-top closure is easy to use and creates a tight seal that keeps water out. It's also designed to be air-tight, which helps to reduce the bulk of the bag when I'm packing it. The bag also features a D-ring that I can use to clip it onto my pack, which is a nice added convenience.Overall, I highly recommend this lightweight dry bag to anyone who is looking for a reliable and durable way to keep their gear dry during outdoor adventures. It's the perfect size for backpacking, and its lightweight design and compressibility make it easy to pack and carry with you. The quality construction and attention to detail make it a reliable choice that you can count on for years to come.

The fabric is just the right strength and thickness for the job. The clasp is crisp. The color is vibrant. I haven't really put mine to the test in all the elements yet, but I know from experience with years of dry sacks that this will do admirably when properly used and secured.

I really appreciate the tab opposite the drawstring closure because it makes it very convenient to open the sack. It also doubles as a hang spot for carabiner. The material is durable and the selection of sizes, especially for small sacks, helps me stay organized. I'm a repeat customer for these sacks. They are much better then the house brand from REI. The only thing the competition does do better is have a much better selection of sacks on the large end. That is one oversight I hope S&S will address.

This bag is perfect for backpacking and hiking. This bag kept down clothing perfectly dry on a week long trek where it rained nonstop. The tab on the bottom of the bag is really helpful for hanging the bag off of my backpack. I highly recommend this bag.
My friends and I used this as a catchall bear bag on our last backpacking trip. It held basically all of our mess kits, toiletries, and cooking hardware. We didn’t get to test out the ability for it to keep things dry, since it didn’t rain the whole week but it’s a brand I trust so I’m not worried about it. Would definitely buy more!
Great product. Lightweight for sure, but able to hold some heavy gear. Took this on a kayak-camping trip and it, as you would hope, stood up to a lot of splashing and kept all of our tents, sleeping bags, and everything else nice and dry. Definitely recommend, but if chance of submersion or bags falling into the water go with the more heavy duty ones.
The Big River Dry Bags are perfect for my canoe and kayak trips. SUP's too. They are tough, water tight, durable and the tie down grommets make for a dry secure load. I bought several sizes and like them so much, bought more to give as gifts. Everyone loves them.I also bought several different size Lightweight Dry Sacks, and am just as happy with them. I do a lot of 2- 7 day overnight backpacking trips in Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont. The bags are used constantly.
These are really a fantastic product. Lightweight, durability proportionate to the weight and field serviceable buckles. I have an assortment of sizes and colors, and have used them for bicycle touring, motorcycle touring, overlanding, kayaking, hiking, cross country skiing and and travel when I have concerns about my gear being exposed to rain or similar moisture.
Great mid-weight dry bag! It is heavier than the gossamer-light ultra-lights... but is substantially more durable. It is nowhere near as durable as a bag intended to be thrown into a whitewater raft (DON'T try use this in that capacity... one stray branch and you'll have a major hole)... but it is so much smaller and more packable. I love this as a liner-bag for my pack (I put my sleeping bag and clothes in, then squash to expel air before sealing) or as a food bag (it's durable enough to be hoisted into a tree with a full load of food... which I wouldn't trust an ultra-light bag for.)
I was shocked to read on this item's label that it should not be submerged. I thought the whole point of these things was that if you topple over in a canoe with all your stuff, they keep your stuff dry. Apparently not. Additionally, as you'll see in the photo of the instructions, you're expected to use two of these (very pricy) dry sacks for "sensitive electronic equipment." I solely purchased this thing for my camera and phone. If the product itself doesn't do the job you promise it will, then it's defective, or your claims are deceptive, you can't expect your customers to purchase two of your products to get them to work properly. Would you expect to have to wear two pairs of waterproof boots on top of eachother in order for them to be waterproof? With that said, ... MoreI was shocked to read on this item's label that it should not be submerged. Would you expect to have to wear two pairs of waterproof boots on top of eachother in order for them to be waterproof? With that said, I bought an additional Ziplock-style dry bag at the sports-goods store that said it was "Scuba-certified" to utilize inside of this Sea To Summit bag just in case, and my phone/camera did just fine through waterfall-hikes, canoe trips, rough water on the speedboat, snorkeling, mangrove-swamp trekking, etc. I never dropped the bag in the water, but I did leave it on the bottom of the canoe at one point, which did have an inch or two of water in it, and everything stayed dry. The sealing mechanism, where you simply roll the top down, seems bizarrely simple, and I cannot fathom how that makes it waterproof, but, there really weren't any better options at the sporting goods store, they all seem to use this same mechanism.
