A great sleeping bag liner

I bought this sleeping bag liner to protect my down sleeping bag from sweat, and it did the job well in my recent camping trip in early summer. It is comfortable to sleep in (it's made of silk), even with shirt off. It is very breathable. During warmer nights, I unzipped my sleeping bag and still slept well in the liner. It should also help in cold weather thought the temperature during my trip was not low enough for me to test it. The pillow slip is nice to have. It can accommodate the large camping pillow I bought (this pillow is too big to fit in the built-in pillow slip of the sleeping bag), and I could put a T-shirt under the pillow inside the pillow slip to make it even more comfortable to sleep on.

First, the things I like:* The silk is nice (I like natural materials).* I like that it keeps my sleeping bag cleaner when camping (I don’t really like washing my sleeping bag that much as it is down).* The colour is nice. :-)Things that are challenging:* I find that it gets tangled around my partner and I when we’re sleeping. It can be difficult to ’straighten out’, even in the morning after we’re out of the sleeping bag.* The bag that the liner comes in is VERY small (as in, so small that it is virtually impossible to get it back in after you’ve removed it).* It’s expensive (though that is the cost of natural materials like silk).* It is on the ’short’ side (nice and wide, though). I don’t notice too much, but it isn’t quite as long as my sleeping ... MoreFirst, the things I like:* The silk is nice (I like natural materials).* I like that it keeps my sleeping bag cleaner when camping (I don’t really like washing my sleeping bag that much as it is down).* The colour is nice. :-)Things that are challenging:* I find that it gets tangled around my partner and I when we’re sleeping. Good quality sleep sack

I bought this so I don’t have to worry about the sheets at hotels. Even at decent, mid-level hotels, I still find bedding to often be pilled or stained or otherwise unappealing. I won’t be able to try this out for a few weeks, but I have high hopes. The silk is good quality and appears strong. The stretchy side panels look like they’ll have enough give that I won’t feel hemmed in. I would have preferred a zipper or other opening however. Lastly, I like the pillow cover, although it’s not quite intuitive how it works. The small pouch it came in is way too small to ever put the sack back into. I’ve moved it into another small pouch I had.

Great liner except for stuff sack
30 December 2022

This quite a comfortable liner to sleep in thanks to the stretch panels. The silk fabric is good against the skin. The only drawback is the size, shape and construction of the stuff sack. The sack is a boxy shape with a double ended zip on two sides. It is quite difficult to stuff the liner into the bag and even more difficult to close the zip. Silk doesn't really compress much at all, so the stuff sack should have been bigger. I don't know why they put two zippers on the zip instead of one. And I don't know why they made the stuff sack a boxy rectangular shape instead of a cylinder. Also I don't know why they chose a zip instead of a cinch cord with a cord lock, which is 10x easier. I usually just stuff the liner into the bottom of my backpack without its stuff ... MoreThis quite a comfortable liner to sleep in thanks to the stretch panels. Keeps my sleeping bag clean
20 October 2022

I chose this liner because it packs small and is light enough for backpacking. I occasionally guide trips through very muddy slot canyons and wanted a barrier between by muddy body and my expensive down sleeping bag. This does the trick. I probably won't use a liner for most other trips in which I am not wet and muddy. The fabric is soft and feels nicer on my skin than slippery sleeping bag fabric. And it's easier to get in and out of than I expected. I stand up and step into the liner as if I was steeping into a pair of pants. Then I hop into the sleeping bag. I did have a little trouble keeping the mummy top covering my head, it wants to scoot down by my shoulders. That's fine, it just means it's not protecting the sleeping bag from my greasy hair. Love my liners
2 April 2023

This is my newest addition to my liners. I have had three for several years and use them often when travelling. None have worn out, I just like to have multiples around for visitors or in case of loss. They are a great wrap on airplanes, great for sleeping in or under in airports and at destinations and excellent liners for sleeping bags. I purchased this one for an upcoming trip to Laos.I only with the storage bags were still made like a little stuff sack. They were much easier to store the liner, just shove it in - the zipper storage, while it looks nice, is more difficult to get the liner in and behaving while zipping up.

Premium silk travel liner- great lightweight pair to a good quilt and amazing stand-alone option for hot weather
26 August 2021

I love the premium silk travel liner- I got one to protect my down quilt on cooler trips and as a stand-alone for warmer weather. I don’t like sleeping with nothing over me, and the liner is perfect by itself for that.I took it on a 4-day hiking trip where I hammock camped and even when the temperature dropped by 20 degrees F at night (80-60 and down to 50 one night) I stayed perfectly warm and comfortable with this liner and a lightweight snugpak. I got the travel version to take on road trips/hotel stays or other “just-in-case” moments to put my pillow into as well. Fabric is soft and smooth, elastic on side helps and isn’t weird like I thought it might be, does the job great!Of note, I also got the regular travel liner (dark blue one) for my son for Boyscouts ... MoreI love the premium silk travel liner- I got one to protect my down quilt on cooler trips and as a stand-alone for warmer weather. He absolutely LOVES his liner! He also went on the hike where I tested mine and got to test his out and he stayed warm with that, a sleeping pad and a small travel blanket that folds up into about an 8” square pillow. In fact, he liked it so much he insisted on sleeping in it in his bed too for about a week! Great products!

Sea to Summit blend sleepingbag liner
10 November 2022

The Sea to Summit sleeping bag liner is typical of all their gear I have experienced to date, well designed, well made, and high performance. I prefer the blend- liner as I am hard on my stuff, and find the blend to hold together better, when the going gets tough. While not as silky smooth as..... well, silk, it is pretty close, still retaining the " cool on hot nights, warm on cold" of the silk. It is not as warm, on really cold nights as thick flannel or cotton, it'll do the job ( I've slept in it, in -15C temps, in my old Sawtooth sleeping bag) ,yet goes down to, and weighs nothing, it has literally been my constant companion for years, if I have my pack, my liner is with me too. My missus prefers the pure-silk one, she looks after her things, does not use them ... MoreThe Sea to Summit sleeping bag liner is typical of all their gear I have experienced to date, well designed, well made, and high performance. Excellent website, selection, check-out, and service, what more could you ask for ? How about ongoing sales, promotions, and free shipping on $49 bucks, or more, wow, a Canadian company that can ! Thanks to everyone there.

Won't Leave Home Without It...
8 December 2022

For 26 years, forty+ days each summer tent camping and guiding wilderness rafting/fly fishing expeditions here in Alaska; the Sea To Summit silk sleeping bag liner is my go to for reasons that have already been mentioned by scores of people in their reviews. I've just replaced my most recent Silk Traveller after 5+ years, and 200+ nights, of faithful service. The liner has probably been machine washed and dried 30 or so times.. I prefer a rectangular sleeping bag because I don't like to be confined; the Travel liner (or the mummy version) is the ultimate: ease of entry, keeping sleeping bag and pillow clean, temperature control, and...comfort. Imagine sleeping in silk sheets...in the wilderness. It's good.

Worth it
22 October 2022

So glad I bought this (navy, regular length) liner. It is great when your sleeping bag is a little too warm for the environs and you need just something light to cover you. It's equally great for times when your sleeping bag isn't enough and you need something extra warm but breathable. It's also great when you need to protect your sleeping bag because there were no showers available and you aren't as clean as you'd like to be. So much easier cleaning and drying this than a whole bag. Also, it feels glamp-orous to slip into a silken cocoon at the end of a hard day on the trail.I would totally recommend.
