Seachem Prime Concentrated Conditioner, 4 Litre

This is a life saver for my fishes. About a month ago I bought this Seachem Prime for my fish tank and so far I love it. I use this on every water change or when I add water to the tank which is not too often. It breaks down the bad stuff in the water that gets taken with the pump( how cool is that). This is a clear liquid with some charcoal color dust in it and it has no scent. This bottle has a flip top cover which makes it easy to open a pour also, it’s affordable.

Good product, flawed bottle

This product is so great at treating chlorine. One time I forgot it before adding fresh water to my tank, and thanks to how fast it works there was no harm done. As soon as I added and did a quick stir in the tank everything was chlorine free!My one complaint is that the cardboard seal on the cap breaks apart rather quickly, and once it is gone the scent leaks out no matter how tightly I close the lid. I wish they would use something just a little more durable to keep it tight!

If you are searching through the different brands on this website and reading reviews on which brand is the BEST water conditioner, let me do you a favor and stop you right now. Congratulations! You have found it! Ask anyone who is semi serious about this hobby and you'll know Seachem products are the best. Get this. I wouldn't dare use any other brand. I've even bought Prime for work colleagues who were using inferior brands (ie ALL of them) and they are converted too. Add it to your cart with confidence.

Product lies

I have been using this product for years. My fish have been sickly the whole time. I keep my aquarium clean and vaccumed faithfully. My fish started getting what looked like anmonia burns and my alert was detecting ammonia. I dosed tank with prim immediately. Burns kept coming. I frantically changed water everyday dosing with prime. Burns got worse after 50 percent water changes. Burns kept coming. Then i tested my tap water. 7.4 ph. Added prime and 15 minutes later prime had raised my ph to 8.4. They lie about it not raising ph. They lie about it detoxifying ammonia. They have fooled all of us. They are making us hurt our own fish and water. It was such a high ph jump it was burning my poor fish. I stopped using this product. Immediately my poor fish started healing. They looked bloody. My fish is big and white. I could see clearly the burns. It is this product. Causing all the repeated ich all the fungus because it is clearly the problem that is making the fish immune system sick. I will never use this product again. I advise everyone to run your own tests. Call your water departments find out what is put into your water. The reason the ammonia alerts still read ammonia after dosing is because its still there. Its not a false positive. Thats why ammonia shoots higher after a water change. Its this product making ammonia more toxic at higher ph. It all stopped after i stopped using it. My fish are happy again. My bacteria stablized. It was messing up my nitrafying bacteria and making them sick too. I realized the whole time i had all this problems its been this product doing all of it. This is not where i bought its fault. Is the seachem company lying to all of us about what the product can do. Detoxification of ammonia is a lie and so is that it does not raising ph. Its not fair to be lied too when we love our fish and want the best for them.

Here's the deal, you really do need this for a planted tank. You need this for an unplanned tank, fresh and salt. The Stability by Seachem should always be ready. Of course you use this premium conditioner for water changes. But when your look at your tank(s( you will know. Test the water 💧 immediately a few days after fish. Because of the heavier feeding required they then expel much more and that will spike everything, ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrates it in to the water column. Wouldnt be without it. But it could do with more instructions written in larger print - virtually impossible to read without magnifying glass. It gives no data on efficacy, or the possibility of inducing false positives for the most toxic nitrogen compounds, so one is left doing massive water changes that might not even be required. No info either on how it might affect cycling.
