I guess I'll be the first to leave a review on this! I went to my local walmart to see if they had this one in stock and to my surprise it was on sale for $79 instead of the online price for $149. I immediately picked this one up instead of any external drive because i was worried about lag issues with any external drive for the ps5. It was very simple to install thanks to youtube videos and only required a screwdriver. As far as space, this does the job just fine. I'm able to download all the games that I play and more. I have about 7 games currently installed. which includes modern warfare. And I still have 1100 gb of free space. 500gb on my ps5 and about 600 on my seagate drive. So I can download at least another 10 games if I wanted to. Now let's get to online ... MoreI guess I'll be the first to leave a review on this! I've logged at least 40 hours of online gameplay and have had no issues with connection, lag, button lag input. It's simply flawless. I highly recommend watching a step by step tutorial on how to install any internal drive to the ps5. Otherwise, you might damage your drive and system. But take it from someone thats not tech savy at all. this was very simple, even a 10 year old could do it. as simple as sliding the drive in. and screwing the lid closed. All-in-all, buy with confidence, and enjoy your 1tb of free space. I hope this reviews helps anyone thinking of buying. Cheers!

This drive was super easy to install. The NVMe was instantly being detected in its M.2 slot and was easy to get formatted and start working. Now my PC is able to store 2TB (or roughly) worth of games! Great purchase. Did not have to worry about the drive not being detected in bios. Seagate Game Drives are trustworthy. As for heat, nothing too high thanks to the included heatsink. And downloading games and loading from it have been relatively fast. Had it for almost a month and no complaints with it.

Great SSD, packaged well in padded static proof shield. Has a nice sleek but efficient heat sync on it and runs just as fast as the internal storage on my ps5. I am able to transfer and load the last of us part 1 onto it and play it with no issues and practically no load time on startup. This is actually rated at a faster speed than themore expensive WD black SSD and runs almost 10 degrees Fahrenheit cooler when ran side by side in comparison.

With the shortages in finding the highly priced FireCuda 530 with heatsink which I've used in the past, I decided to go this option since its the same size as the FireCuda 530 and has similar specs per seagate website. This is accepted by the PS5 without issues (unlike the Samsung 580 Pro 2TB that I bought first) and was rejected by the system forcing an immediate shutdown with no option to format the drive. This drive was accepted immediately with a noted read speed of 6295 MB/s and with a warning that if issues with games to move to the internal console storage. (Never saw this with the FireCuda 530 I did on another PS5 but may be the difference). (Never saw this with the FireCuda 530 I did on another PS5 but may be the difference). However its accepted, expanded my PS5 storage space and at a cheaper price then the FireCuda 530 when not on sale or being scalped... I feel this is a great option and works right away and made it simple without having to worry about finding someone to update the firmware like in the Samsung reviews. I would highly recommend, I lessened 1 star due to the warning but could be related possibly to new stipulations as this is a new OCT 2022 PS5 direct from Sony and with the latest software. The last one I did with a 530 was over a year ago... So 530's may also see the warning now too since the Samsung 980 was immediately discarded as unusable. So if your in the market for a PS5 internal storage update I would recommend this one to folks unless you can find or pay for the 530 sibling of this drive.
I recently noticed that my PS5 drive was filling up and that I needed to fill the empty SSD slot for additional space (especially with MW2 coming out). After much research I decided on the Seagate Firecuda 530, but noticed it hadn't been in stock for several days. I then saw this drive being offered for about the same price, with the same specs, so I decided to get it.Installation was simple and quick. PS5 recognized the drive and formatted it without any issues. Read speed was reported at around 6500 mbps.So far, I have no complaints!
Upgrading from a 2TB Firecuda 530 to this 4TB seagate nvme with heatsink. It is advertised that this drive is a bit slower than the firecuda 530. With the firecuda 530 in my PS5 i was getting 6550 read speeds, with this 4TB i was only getting about 6000... its ok as long as its above the minimum 5500 that is required by the console. Its the same price as the firecuda 530 with heatsink but that item has been sold out for awhile now.Overall its a good drive, no slow downs YET but will do a follow up review if any issues. This would of been a 5 star review if the speed was a bit faster
It took longer to pop the cover off PS5 than the actual installation. PS5 instantly recognized once it was turned on and formatted quickly. Very fast speed as advertised. It advertised 2TB and that was exactly what I had available to work with. This is an item all PS5 owners will eventually need. 4 of 5 only because it’s pricey, availability is limited, and they know we’ll all need one at some point therefore no incentive to lower price.
I was waiting to update my SSD until I could find a 2TB for around the $250 mark. Being extra cautious for the future, I only wanted an SSD with extensive longevity. Do your research and you will find that this drive is the best! Fyi, this is the rebranded Firecuda specifically for ps5. Same drive, just a blue strip instead of the red/orange. 6500 mbps speeds, lightning fast loading all games. Very satisfied!
Summarized in the title. First of all if you're looking to put it in the PS5, google how to add a M.2 SSD to the PS5 and look at the video on Sony's site. Getting the cover off is easy if you watch it and installing this thing requires removing and screwing back in two screws. The heat sink is thick. Read speeds above 6500 mbps. Not sure on the writing but only took minutes for hundreds of gigs of games. Not much else to say. It's working well so far.
I am not savy when it comes to technology and I definitely did not wanna be messing with my shiny PS5. However, having to delete games and apps due to updates or storage capacity was getting quite annoying. I decided to give this ssd card a go and boy an I amazed. Installation was so easy that even a nutless Monkey can do it. now I have plenty of space for more games and apps without having to worry!!
