First time I have purchased a portable Hdd of this size. I have been pleased with it's performanceand how quiet it is. Have used it to store emulator files and arcade builds with some large filesizes. All good so far. Reasonably quick and quiet and that's all I was looking for.

I am happy with the performance of the Seagate 4TB USB drive so far; it runs quiet, is reasonably fast, doesn't get too hot under heavy use, and fits nicely behind the laptop.The price was right too.It complements and replaces a 6 year old LaCie 5TB USB drive that is still going, but was getting a bit noisy, indicating that the bearings bight be on their way out.

The 2TB portable that I used as my XBox One X external HDD failed. So looked around for a replacement and found this 4TB portable at PBTech for a good price (not on sale but it did go a bit cheaper when it went on sale a couple of weeks later). The product has good external reviews so decided to buy it. It's working well so far; runs silent and cool and takes very little space on my desk. PBTech as always was fast with processing the order and pickup was easy and quick! :)
Worked OK until it didn't. Unable to access drive post unlocking. Went through troubleshooting and everything is fine until password (correctly) entered. Drive in disk management is marked as online but returns parameter error. Lost 2 years of work as the only solution Seagate has is to reformat drive. Found out colleague has exact same problem. Buy only if you don't care about your data.
I purchased this hard drive to store all of my family files. With minimal use, it suddenly (18 months later) has ceased working. Won't power on at all even with another power supply to test it. I now have to source options to have the unit disassembled in an attempt to access the files. Waste of money. Will not buy Seagate again.
