I have been using this product for some time. I use it for all my pots but if you are going to use it for bulbs forget it. If you don't wet the potting mix atlest once a week it dries out like powder and repels the water.

I have been buying this product for a few seasons now, it's been great for the plants. This summer I've had a really bad strike rate with it. Starting with opening it was full of fungus( never before it had this)Well before the rains. The plants have been stripped on closer inspection little black grubs with a white stripe along their back have done the damage. The plants won't grow the roots are all gone pulling out dying plants. Not happy Jane.Though it was me, talking to mate in Gympie the same thing.

Purchased two bags Nov 2023, and found this product to be really good. The current price of $22.02 means it is just under 0.34 cents per liter. No plastic, large bark or insects found in any of the two bags. And the good thing is that it is manufactured right here in Qld. When watering, noticed that the water drained well fairly quickly and did not pool. Ideal for plants that require good drainage.

The soil is quite clean with not much barks, etc. however, I found that they carry a lot of little insects, not sure if it is normal? Other than that, I am quite happy with it.
Have purchased a few bags of the 65lt - I was wondering where all the little black insects were coming from in my house after my plants had been potted. You can see the little insects sitting all around the top of the plants on the soil. Have now sprayed several times using a Yates pyrethrum insect killer spray but the gnats are persisting - they are flying everywhere around the house now and when they do die I’ve got piles of them on all the floors. Won’t buy this brand again.
This is an absolutely reliable mix, in which the plants are thriving.It's superior to many of the seedling mixes I've tried, and so has become my default option.This is the mix I'd use if I wanted to establish a high-reliability & productive garden bed.
Been using this product for years now & it hasn't let me down in any way. The tip is the 65L which is only twice the price of the 25l - so its economical for the larger jobs.
I have bought this product before and sold it.And I no it's the best. because I used to work in a nursery and we would sell and buy searles products
I have been using this product for years but the last 2 bags I have had I noticed little insects in the bag when I opened it and I used it but now they are eating the roots of my plants killing them so what has changed in your mix that it has them insects in it and how do I get rid of them
I always use Searles potting mi. My plants just love it. x
