I bought this bag of potting mix only to find when using it today that it was just a bag of sticks and bark with a dash of soil. If I wanted to buy a bag of bark and sticks, I would have bought a bag of bark and sticks. To me this is not potting mix. I had to add a bag of mushroom compost to make up for the lack of soil. The (blue bag) garden mix is better if you are looking for potting mix.
Premium soil better for the plants, lots of nutrients to help your plants grow and flourish.
I cannot believe the growth in the seedlings since they were planted .
Bunnings and Seasol were so helpful after I found Curl grub larvae in this potting mix. They couldn't do enough to get my Tomatoes seedlings back to growing well. I soaked the potting mix with Eco Neem and that has slowed the grubs down, some died, but at least the seedlings took off growing again, so I am treating all my potting mix now with eco neem.
Terrible. full of wood chips, some over 1 inch long. not a good choice.
I would give this potting mix a zero minus minus if I could. I had heaps of Tomato seedings which I decided this year to grow in pots as I don't have a big garden. Last week, I bought 12 bags of Seasol Advanced and filled my pots up and transplanted my Tomato seedlings which were growing well. I know about Transplant shock but all of the seedlings began to grow ok until about a day ago the odd tomato plant withered and died. They were in a sunny position, watered lightly once a day. Then a second one in another pot did the same. So I pulled it up to see what was going on. There were heaps of tiny maggot like larvae wriggling around the roots. Then I pulled out a handful of soil only to find exactly the same maggots. A bit of research later showed that they were Curl ... MoreI would give this potting mix a zero minus minus if I could. I'll never buy it again.
This premium mixed has very little barks in it compared to other cheaper potting mix. If you need a good cheap potting mix this is the one to get!
