Secret Aardvark Habanero Hot Sauce

Franks need a new slogan because I put THIS on everything. Don’t be offput by the habanero. It’s not THAT spicy. It’s really beautiful and honesty pretty complex but in the best way. It adds a kiss of heat. I LOVE it. It’s truly my favorite hot sauce. I just saw a half gallon option when selecting this and I’m going to find out how to order it because I love it that much!

8/10 Versatile and very flavorful

This was the first hot sauce that I was sure I HAD to save a spot for in my first Heatonist order. The taste can be defined as "classic", but don't think just because there is tomatoes, it tastes like hot ketchup. This sauce has sharp notes from the Habaneros and a very fruity and rich aroma of tomatoes, balanced out very nicely. Heat level really is a medium 5/10, although it always depends on how much you add.Out of all my sauces, this was the first bottle, that I've finished. This adds a ton of flavor to my dishes, whether on pizza or burger, or mixed in with pesto or bechamel sauce. Hot Wing Karaoke??

I bought this sauce because I live in Portland but I love Hot Ones so I wanted to buy from Heatonist. I got talked into doing a Hot Wing Karaoke Challenge but I don’t do well with spice so I felt like this was the perfect choice. I only cried a little bit when I ate the wing, but it was a good hurt. And then I crushed ‘Say It Ain’t So’ by Weezer. Thanks Sean Evans!!

Overrated but inexpensive

I bought this sauce because it's super hyped on reddit. Honestly I'm not that impressed. It's a fine basic habanero sauce; I don't get any notes of carrot, onion or roasted anything. The flavor and heat is acceptable, I guess I just don't really get why everyone loves it so much. The bottle cap is also pretty annoying, you have to kind of shake it and not much comes out at a time. The price point is solid at least relative to the other sauces on here (which are more unique; you could probably find a basic habanero sauce like this one at the grocery store for a few bucks cheaper, to be honest). I'll finish my bottle for sure, but I won't be reordering this one.

PacNW standard

Standby sauce to have in the fridge. My favorite topping for hard boiled eggs, breakfast burritos and rice bowls. Sauce is in the thicker side and not smooth. It’s got a little sweetness, a little vinegar, a little heat and a whole lot of flavor. This is one of my all time favorites!

Perfect Everything-Sauce!

- Very white wine vinegar-forward sauce which lends it fruity notes, working well with the sweetness and smokiness of fire roasted tomatoes. Habanero peppers bring it to a mild-medium heat. Perfect “everything” sauce in my opinion, will keep a bottle stocked at all times.

Secret Aardvark Habanero

Spicy ketchup

More or less. It has a distinct ketchup taste beneath the peppers. Suitable for anything you'd use ketchup on, but adds some new flavors and a kick. I bought this and the green sauce from a local shelf and both are solid...But I don't think I will buy Secret Aardvark again. Why?I *absolutely hate* the bottle. It should not be a chore to put hot sauce on food but it is. The opening is too narrow for a sauce that's relatively chunky and the bottle itself is made of a hard plastic that doesn't give to squeezing so you can't even force the sauce through.

The Everysauce

I first encountered this miracle while living in it’s home town where it held grail like status, now, I’m a disciple too. I’ll put this in everything, scrambled eggs, pulled jackfruit, chilli, curries, and yes I’ve even split a few Oreos and dabbed aardvark in the middle… try it.. it works. ❤✌

Try it on Everything

Secret Aardvark is a fantastic, well balanced habanero sauce. It's got a nice kick, is a little smokey, and really hits those notes that you'd expect from a Tex-Mex style sauce. It's versatile enough to throw on an array of foods; I highly recommend trying it on everything.
