Seiko 5 Automatic Black Dial Mens Watch

This was my first purchase Creation WatchesI would definitely use them again. I bought the Seiko Automatic Sports watch as a (cheap) replacement whilst my Panerai was away for a service. It is a great quality watchvery good value for money. Three months later I am still waiting for Panerai to return my watch but I think I will keep wearing the Seiko as my everyday watch, as it is so comfortable to wearhas a great display. The service Creation was good, although communication was a little confusing at times - it took about a weekthree emails to confirm my order. I read lots of reviews about the delivery optionsdecided to use their Airmail service, which was slow (3 weeks) but it meant there was no duty to pay when I received the watch. A waterproof, mechanical field watch with day date and color options at a great price!

I have a "standard" Seiko 5 with a cream face that I really enjoy, but I live be the beach and at 5 bar it's not really suitable to wear in the water. I found this SNZG09 and it ticks all the boxes, looks really good and is a fraction of the price of anything comparable (I had been looking at the Hamilton field watch with the earth brown face, but that's four times the price of this one). Boxes: mechanical, 10 bar, day date. I really like the green face! As with my Seiko 5 I did buy some easy change watch bands (I really like Barton Watch Bands) in silicone, nylon and sailcloth that give me a nice set of options for different occasions. All of these look preferable to the Seiko band. Face is clear, lumens bright, no problems going in and out of the water. SEIKO 5 GREEN DIAL AUTOMATIC MEN'S WATCH SNZG09J1

Bought this model SNZG09j1 few days ago. Watchdirect is a very good organisation in my view having experienced a very quick delivery the following day l placed an order with them. Good package with everything in order, box, Seiko manual, and their written warranty for one year. The watch is top quality for its selling price. It is one of these few models made in Japan, not just the movement. The box of course is made in China. The watch feels right on the wrists and rewind well after wearing it all day. So far it is very accurate. The wristband can be easily replaced with a leather one if one is incline to have the original replaced. Simply the best automatic you can purchase. Seiko quality, simplicity and functionality

This is the third SNZG11K1 that I have purchased, the first two being direct from suppliers in Japan when I lived there. I bought the first watch for my father and was so impressed with the quality, simplicity and visibility in the dark that I bought one for myself. They have both worked flawlessly for 4 years. My son now wears the watch that he inherited from my father. I never take my watch off my wrist. I run, paddle, play squash, swim and shower with the watch on my wrist and it has never failed me. Only trouble is the strap broke whist playing SUP-ball and it disappeared into the mirky river before I realised what had happened. Hence the purchase of a third version. I love the watch.

It would be more reliable and you wouldn't have to worry about it. OR you could get this watch. It's a mechanical 73S6C movement that you need to be involved with. It does not run unless you interact with it and move it. It needs you for it to keep functioning. (manual transmissions are ALWAYS more fun) Ironic hipsters won't like it because Seiko is a big brand, not found on Kickstarter. Snobs will say it's unrefined because it'snot European and costs less than four-figures. But this watch is a great value from a great company that has been doing this for a long time, to the point of perfection. This watch is not the top of the line in the 5-series. There are others in its own family that outperform it, some have chronographs, or different bezels, etc. But this one does all the basic functions of a watch that you need. If you like the "vroom-vroom" from under a hood, you'll like the "tickticktickticktick" from on your wrist. This is a great for someone to "get into watches" with. Maybe you'll trade it in for a fancier example down the line, maybe not. But this watch has enough character with it's mechanical movement, and versatility that you'll always remember it as your "first".

When I being a bit rough wearing this watch, the spring bar popped out. The whole thing fell off my wrist from a height of about four feet. The crystal shattered terribly and the movement stopped working. It would be cheaper just to buy another one from eBay than to have it repaired. This has a 7s36 movement so I'm not sure whether authorized Seiko dealers will be pleased with your bringing this in for service. The dial is way too big, it looks horrendous for a basic field watch. The nylon band is itchy. Because the 7s36 movement has no hand-winding, to restart it you have to move it around, which causes permanent damage. I actually did wear this in the shower and to wash my hands. It dried up without any problem. My guess is that the band has a protective water-resistant coating that deteriorates after a while, and that is when it becomes fuzzy and holds water longer than it should. This is probably the least-exciting watch that Seiko sells.
