Seiko 5 Automatic Black Dial Stainless Steel Men's Watch SNKL45J1

Great reliable timepiece. At 37mm it's not a big watch but for an average wrist it's perfect. Also keeps great time and once you give it a shake, you're good to go. I've junked the bracelet as it pulled out my arm hairs but it looks much better on a brown leather strap in my opinion. Very Pleased, Thanks!

A great first watch!

Watch comes sealed in plastic nicely presented in the original Seiko box. The watch itself is flawless, with a beautiful clear back so you can see the movement at work. A nice touch that wasn't completely clear from the pictures is the ends of the hour markers glow just like the hour and minute hands. The style of links on the bracelet (folded links) are super easy to resize yourself, saving you some money and time not having to go to a jeweler to get it sized. The clasp has 3 small adjustment spots so, alongside adding/removing links, you can make tiny adjustments to the size to get a perfect fit. It might be a bit smaller than you would expect, 38mm is noticably smaller than some other watches, but it looks great on my (relatively small) wrist. Be careful about this product

It keeps appalling time. Loses 5 minutes every two days. I would never buy an automatic watch again . I wish I could get my money back. Unfortunately, I left my feedback too soon. I wouldn't have been so complimentary about this watch.

Cant beat Seiko 5 value!

This is my 7th Seiko watch so maybe Im a tad biased...but you just cant beat Seiko 5 value. For the same (possibly less) price for a quartz fashion watch, you get a reliable, environmentally responsible timepiece that should last you for years before its first service. The size is closer to vintage compared to larger sizing nowadays, but I have a slim wrist, so it suits me fine. Understated class at a fraction of what others charge and great quality! Put a nice leather strap on it and most folk would mistake it for something costing way more!

Excellent value!!!

This watch is amazing for under $200 much more so at a sub $100 price. The watch is beautifully finished and looks like a Grand Seiko on. The bracelet is stamped but it is attractive and very comfortable. It does not pull hair like some stamped bracelets do. The see-through back is another nice feature. Over the last week it has been within a minute. I highly recommend Seiko 5s and in particular this model for both novice and experienced watch collectors.

Good Watch, Good Value

Great little watch, with good legibility and an easy fit. With so many Seiko 5 models to choose from, I'm very pleased with my selection. And it keeps good time, too.

Good looking watch that turns heads.

Nice durable watch that works well under any condition. Don't have to worry about winding it since it's an automatic. I have another one just like it that lasted me about 40 years but has recently failed due to normal wear.

Good value, but can't wear

The watch, as with all Seiko products is stylish and well engineered. To date, it does exactly what it is designed for, accurately tells the time. Unfortunately I can-not wear it because the band is too small. This product comes from Singapore and I think the band size may be designed for smaller Asian wrists. Also, this model is not sold in Australia so I have a problem getting extra links to suit. Having said this, overall I am very happy with this product and would rate it 5 star, if I could wear it.

Stunning watch on an okay bracelet.

The dial is a glossy black that shines nicely in sun. The case is fully polished and matches the applied hour markers. Its accurate for a mechanical watch (just google the 7s26 movement). This watch belongs on a leather strap. I also change mine for a canvas strap to dress it down a bit.

Unbelievable Quality at the Price!

I have a modest collection of watches, including 2 other Seiko 5 models, one of which is 14 years old. So, the Seiko 5 is well known to me. These are fantastic watches and unbelievable at this price. Why people buy some 'fashion' watches costing 3 or 4 times the price of a Seiko 5 is beyond me! I guess some individuals follow the herd and are more concerned about brand names. Personally, I believe in the saying Fashions come and go, but style is permanent! This particular watch looks very handsome and understated with its 37 mm polished case and finely brushed lug tops. The black sunburst dial is really subtle and looks great when it catches the light a particular way. It has a legible dial, with nicely applied batons and highly polished hands. The red seconds hand adds a sporty twist to the classic look. Theres the well proven, bulletproof 7S26C automatic movement, and a hardlex crystal, which whilst isn't as tough as sapphire crystal is much more scratch resistant than standard mineral crystal. The style of this particular Seiko is very much that of a business watch, and whilst it still looks fine with jeans and a polo shirt, its not really my idea of an outdoor oractivity watch, although its more than tough enough to handle almost anything you can throw at it! What's not to like? Well, not much! If you're not used to automatic mechanical watches, then you need to accept that they'll gain or lose a few seconds a day; even luxury automatics costing thousands do that... Night visibility isnt great, theres some limited lume applied to the hands, and small dots of lume at the foot of each silver baton. However, if you do want a really good watch in the dark, then Seiko do plenty! For starters take a look at the Seiko SNXS75K or SNXS77K. Also, whilst the bracelet on this watch is fine at the price, it's not fantastic. It was always my intention to buy a leather strap. Do this and the watch moves to an entirely higher level, even if you only spend as little as 15.00 to 25.00. Personally, I bought a black Hirsch Forest strap, and now the watch looks like something that would have cost over 300.00 in a high-street jewellers. If youre looking for a classy and reliable timepiece for the office, or going-out, then you can't really go wrong with this watch!
