Seiko Prospex Turtle Divers Black Dial Watch SRPE93K
This watch's silhouette, side view and watch caseback resemble a turtle with its curved comfortable shell, earning this model's nickname from Seiko fans as a 'turtle'. To divers, sea turtles are symbols of good fortune. This is the diver’s watch that, just like the sea turtle, is loved by many diving enthusiasts. A 44mm stainless steel case boasts a ceramic bezel and anti-reflective sapphire crystal to protect the black dial. A distinct and straight-forward display features shaped markers, day & date windows at the 3-o-clock position and Lumibrite upon the hands and indexes for easy readability in all light conditions. Powered by Caliber 4R36 automatic with manual winding capacity movement. A black silicone strap finishes this men's Prospex model. Since launching Japan’s first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko’s innovative watchmaking has changed global dive watch standards. This watch is water resistant up to 200 metres.

This watch was great but the customer service leaves something to be desired. I got the watch and after 6 months of use noticed that it was noisy when the auto wind was spinning. I took it in for warranty and neither Wallace Bishop or Seiko is willing to honour it saying the watch was damaged. If the watch was damaged as they say it was when on my arm and in a spot that is not accessible when worn. This is showing the watch is not made to a reasonable quality standard and that Wallace Bishop/Seiko are not worth dealing with. Recommend you look elsewhere for a similar watch that will actually last.

This Seiko is incredibly similar to the one other Seiko diver I have - but the classic look can't be beaten. I have a non-turtle chronograph, that otherwise is almost identical. It's time-keeping and performance is top-nothc...flawless. The few days I have owned this SRPE93 it's promising the same. Time hasn't changed in any noticeable way, it sits super comfortably on the wrist, the weight of it is nice, the size is big but not giant. Love it.

I really like everything about this watch, the look, the size and the quality of the watch. It’s a automatic watch which is different from a quartz watch, this watch winds by your arm movements. The watch is waterproof to 200 meters which is more than enough for swimming in a pool or snorkeling. The strap that comes with the watch is nice but the watch can also be fitted with a stainless steel bracelet or a nato strap, so the watch can fit most occasions. I have mine on a nato strap, see photo. Great watch!

I have had this watch for about a couple of weeks, more or less, and am very satisfied with it. The watch has a very smooth case, no sharp edges, and keeps very good time, to within a few seconds per day. It stays wound, through normal movement throughout the day and does not run down, overnight. The watch face is very easy to read, day or night, dark or light. I originally wanted a metal band, which seems to be available on other, similar models, but was not offered as an option; however, the silicone is nonetheless very comfortable and is adjustable to fit well. I had an an earlier version of this watch, many years ago, when I was in the service, and gifted it to a friend. I have missed that watch ever since, and am very glad to have this new one. I own a number of Planet Oceans and Seamasters and I have had Submariners, but there is something about this watch that is just special. My father was always a Seiko fan having bought numerous ones while he was stationed in Vietnam, and I understand why. There's a simplicity and cohesiveness that just works, and the band could not be more comfortable. I only wish there was an option to have it with a Kanji day/date wheel. And a turtle w/o a cyclops eye is proper. The cyclops just takes up way to much room.
The only issue is the bezel insert. Its misaligned by just a little, but this is common for Seiko watches in this price range. Easy fix. Every other aspect is spot on, easily my favorite dive watch so far. The crown effortlessly screws down, unlike an Orient mako II I had to return with a painful to use screw down crown. The size is spot on for my 7.25 wrist, the cushion case is incredibly comfortable. The bezel action is effortless. Im not a fan of the chunky strap it comes on, but with an Olive nato strap it feels perfect to me. The design is so unique and bold, not classy but utilitarian, very much a tool watch with a military diver vibe. This really fits the bill, I hope to add many scratches and dings over the years to top it off.
Chose my Seiko Turtle after a lot of research for my first mechanical watch and First Class seemed to offer the best value for month from what seemed to be a reputable and trust worthy authorised dealer rather than one of the many alternative web-stores. I couldn’t be happier with my choice of both. The despite many reviews advising of the large size of this watch, it sits beautifully on my relatively small wrist and actually feels more comfortable than some of my other smaller watches, so do not let that put you off. My black SRPE93K1 arrived as one of the most recent builds- with the additional Luke adjacent to the day/date window which the older models do not have, so I know it is fresh stock.Very pleased, will probably not be my last Seiko and would certainly ... MoreChose my Seiko Turtle after a lot of research for my first mechanical watch and First Class seemed to offer the best value for month from what seemed to be a reputable and trust worthy authorised dealer rather than one of the many alternative web-stores. This latest generation of automatic Seiko diver's watches continues its rock-solid legacy of rugged performance and excellent build quality. Similar in many ways to the previous generation of this line (SKX007J1), this latest revision features optional hand-winding and the seconds hand hacks, where in the previous generation in was automatic -only. Also present with this latest revision is the cushion-style case, which sits very comfortably. An added and welcome feature that is new to this revision is drilled lugs, making it much easier to change out straps and bracelets. The quality is far above what one would expect at this modest price point, and this reviewer was so delighted with the watch I purchased 3 in different colors. The day wheel is presented in English and a selection of other languages; your seller can tell you which to expect. The only concern noted is that there have been reports of alignment issues with the chapter ring, face, and bezel on some isolated cases; it is recommended that the seller be asked about this before purchase. In an exciting development, there is a cottage industry that has sprung up to customize automatic Seiko diver's watches; this model serves as an absolutely excellent base for this endeavor with custom bezels and crystals, hands, faces, etc. Whether you opt for customization or adhere to the majesty and honest simplicity of the stock configuration, this watch is an excellent purchase that will serve you well. Just an absolute bargain at this price.
Great iconic Seiko Turtle and insane price on sale at Boscov's. Mine is keeping fantastic time at about +8 secs a day. If you know Seiko, you know that while they are well regarded in the watch world, QC is sometimes lacking. Thought I got lucky this time, bezel and chapter ring are lined up perfectly, but it wasn't until a few wears in that I noticed the lume on the "4" marker has a noticeable imperfection. Not a deal breaker for the price I paid, but one of the reasons I tend to shy away from Seiko's higher priced options. If this watch would have been $1k+ it would have went back. All in all though, for what I purchased it for this was an steal and really is a super watch.
My second Seiko Turtle, the first being the Pepsi PADI version. This new one keeps great time right now, nicely accurate. The silicone band softens with a few days of wearing it. I wish the holes on the band were a little closer together - my wrist size is between holes, but that's a "me" problem, not a "them" problem. The bezel turns much more easily than my other Turtle with a few years on it. Looks just like I hoped it would, and as anticipated - classic, absolutely pure classic dive watch. I wanted a Willard, but for the price I'll stick with my normal black Turtle for now. I'm tempted to swap out the silicone for another steel bracelet like my first Turtle, but it's not essential. This band is quite sturdy yet nice. I already put a scratch into the Hardlex, but ... MoreMy second Seiko Turtle, the first being the Pepsi PADI version. Someday I might mod them for a sapphire crystal, but the Hardlex is fine for now.
