Seiko Series 5 Automatic Black Dial Men's Watch SNXS79J1

A very very well made watch. 5 stars to case and dial design. But the bracelet quality could have been much better. Casio gives a top quality stainless steel bracelet with their £40 watches.

A watch to always watch

I have been keeping close eye on this watch for a year now, watching videos about it, reading reviews from other people who bought and use currently. After one year, the sales were strong still increasing and prices remaining steady. That told me people are happy with it. I purchased this watch and from the very first time I wore it, I was happy with its quality, and style. Its a watch that I watch all the time now. I keep the setting on the barometer and it scrolls through the atmospheric pressures 24 hours a day. The set up is pretty easy, and you actually use weather, and regional maps, and geomagnetic calculators, for your specific area to program the watch so its accurate to your region. Beautiful watch

The watch is of excellent quality. Its grey sunburst dial is uniquely beautiful. Pair it with a dark brown leather strap and you have a beast that keeps time beautifully. The lume on this is absolute killer. One thing people don't mention are the silver edges to the lume, which also border the day and date complication--a beautiful and well thought out detail. The automatic, smooth ticking is a great feature and cooler than quartz watches' second by second tick. Sellers have jacked up the price since it was discontinued by Seiko, which is unfortunate but a natural result of this watch being so popular. Another downside is its unnecessarily high wrist presence, which could have been accounted for by its original, sub $100 price. Good lesson learned

This is a good watch to get away from battery powered watches. It seems to keep good time as long as it is wound. I learned that there are some Seiko models, like this one, that do NOT have a manual wind option. Only motion can wind it, requiring a watch winder if you don't wear it all day. I should have researched a little more.

Light weight and comfortBle

I was surprised at how light it was. The band is really soft and comfortable. Very well designed and made. The hasp and bad loops all position in flawlessly. My only complaint is the price. This is a great watch but I don't know that it's worth what I've paid. I even got the one I have for almost 50% off from retail. I've never really been into watches so maybe it's that I don't have a very good frame of reference but $175 for an electronic watch like this seems steep after the fact. I think the quality and durability may prove me wrong in the long run. I'm still happy with my purchase as it is a very well made product.

Great service and confidence in the website/product. Arrived well packaged and protected from the rigours of a delivery. Instructions in many languages and links via QR code. The see through rear cover makes for an interesting and unique style. My Son was very happy with the watch, cost £20 via Timpsons to remove spare links.

Seiko's Oyster Perpetual

It is a small watch but it has the perfect size if you are looking for an elegant sport watch. The day date function is super useful and the lume is quite amazing considering its not a tool watch. The only negative things would be the bracelet, most Seiko watches require patience when you are fixing them but with a Youtube guide, the right tools and some patience you can fix it in 15 minutes or less. All and all, great watch, it will give you the elegant look of an Oyster Perpetual at a reasonable price.

Wonderful watch that won't break the bank

This watch is truly a great piece for a reasonable price. The dial of the SNXS79 is really the reason for buying the watch. You get a dark grey sunburst dial that looks amazing when light hits it. Although it does not have hacking or hand winding, those 2 functions aren't a deal breaker in my opinion but, I understand for someone else it could be. Also, I understand that at this price there will be some cutting cost measures and the bracelet is where that is. It's not terrible but it's nothing to write home about. Overall, this watch has some cons but I believe that the pros outweigh them. It's a great budget watch option and a great piece to get into mechanical watches. Honestly, I would recommend this watch.
