This is the only product that works for my scalp issues. I feel like it doesn't dry anything out and doesn't ruin my hair either. I've tried SOOOO many dandruff products and this is the best one out of them all! I've had dandruff all my life and this is my holy grail. I've even had to go as far as putting a prescribed topical ointment for my dandruff and even that didn't help me. It's honestly crazy how some things can have the same ingredients as another but one work better. Maybe theirs just has a better concentration of the specific active ingredient or something idk but this is a yes.

I am so impressed with this product! I was suffering from really bad dry scalp. I would wash my hair with Head and Shoulders but wouldn’t get any relief. I’d still have flakes after washing my hair. This has been a game changer for me. I’m not sure why I had such a bad dandruff problem but it was debilitating. I didn’t want to do my hair, didn’t want to go anywhere - afraid that my dandruff would show. It was large flakes too, very noticeable. My first wash with Selsun Blue completely remedied the situation. I haven’t had dandruff since using this product. I highly recommend this brand to anyone who is suffering from extreme dandruff.

I had such high hopes for this brand. I suffered from seborrheic dermatitis ever since I was little. So not only did I have the dandruff and the dry, itchy scalp, I also have chunks of dead skin coming off my head. It sounds gross and it was, so I was REALLY hoping this would get rid of it all. It did help with the itchiness and the dandruff, but not the seborrheic dermatitis. I still had the chucks and I still had some dandruff. But it did improve my situation, just very slightly. Sadly, it did not work for me and I will not be purchasing it again.

So my suggestion is, follow the directions haha.. but seriously, Selsun Blue Moisturizing shampoo works for fungal acne. If you are desperate I would give it a try. Those hair follicles on your face need healing sometimes, and this helps. Shaving it off won't do justice either, FYI...

I use Selsun Blue Maximum Strength Medicated Shampoo to treat the Tinea versicolor flare-ups that I experience during summer months. It contains Selenium Sulfide that helps relieve my symptoms and clears my skin of the small white patches. The scent is a tad medicinally strong. The lather is rich, feels tingly and stays blue throughout washing. I highly recommend Selsun Shampoo for treating fungal (yeast) skin condition and will purchase again. Please note: I have only used Selsun Shampoo to treat this skin condition. I do not experience dandruff and never washed my hair with this shampoo.

LOVE First, well, yea, my scalp can get kind of dry and if I ignored it, someone might say I had dandruff 😉 This is the only shampoo I’ve found that actually works AND doesn’t smell like the Heisenberg high school rolling chemistry lab! But, there’s a “holy grail” product bonus, I also use it on my face. Don’t lather, just leave it as gel to sit for 3-5 minutes, my skin is as exfoliated and glowing as it would be if I hadn’t skipped a day or two of my full beauty routine. Please be careful though, my skin may be less sensitive than yours so please take my recommendation as a “this works really well for me, you should consider and decide for yourself if it’s right for you try” instead of “everyone is doing it and I promise nothing bad will ever happen if you do it too”

Selenium Sulfide was recommended by my dermatologist for the dandruff and itchiness, and it works great. I found my hair dry if I use this shampoo too often so I found a solution. I make my hair wet, mix some shampoo with water in a bottle, put on the sclap and use the heeta scalp massager to massage every small area for 3-4min, then wash it. I apply the shampoo-water solution, massage with my fingers (not bail part) then wash it for the 2nd time. The hair is clean longer, less dry and I have less hair loss as well.

I would not buy again.

Selsun Blue anti-dandruff shampoo is effective in dealing with dandruff, but it has a strong and unpleasant smell. In addition, it can remove the hair color, which is a disadvantage. Three stars for its effectiveness but some drawbacks to consider. For me, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. I would not buy again.

Selsun Blue does more than kill dandruff

I caught a fungus at the gym and I had red blotches growing on my back and my stomach. My doctor told me to use Selsun blue to kill it and after one application it was about 60% gone. After two applications I was fungus free. Your doctor probably won't tell you this because he wants to sell an expensive pharmaceutical medicine.
