Purchased in purple, which appears online as a warm, medium shade purple. In person appears to be a much darker, cooler shade. Using it to make some from from a game so the colour being the same was important, a bit disappointed it won't be accurate anymore. Product itself is fine, shiny appearance and a bit difficult to work with as tiny strands get caught/split easily, but that aligns with the price.

I bought it last year to make Luna New Year ornaments. They have very vibrant colour with a sheen on it and easy to work with. Yes the yarn is a bit thin but end results looks fantastic especially for festive ornaments

I buy this stallion yarn as its the cheapest. I agree with the other reviews. It is very fine, I would normally use a 4mm but I now use a 2.5mm with this yarn. However, I have given Stallion a 3 star rating as I have adapted to using it. I like the feeling of this yarn as a blanket. I also find there is a lot less peel with this product. I would recommend this but I would advise you get what you pay for.

I bought this yarn thinking this was the colour. When it arrived it was definitely not this colour. Looks like the pic is from a discontinued colour and someone is too lazy to put a new pic up. I had to take it to my local spotlight and and get my money back. The thing is i am still out of pocket for the delivery fee.It did arrive very quickly though
Abit thin to be 8ply but I make toys with it do ply doesn't matter. BUT.... I need the lime green. Part way through making a toy and can't source the lime green anywhere. Are we ever going to get the full colour range again?
I bought this a week or so ago to start my Christmas presents - it's advertised as 8ply for use with 4mm needles. I used both a 3 and a 3.5 hook and it's absolutely too thin even for these! It isn't 8ply/DK - maybe the supplier has changed since the 5 star reviews? I'm not sure but I am hoping I will be able to return the unused balls and find something a little better! This is a review of the product and NOT of Spotlight stores - who are always excellent and I have no doubt will be happy to help with my return.
This yarn felt soft and was relatively easy to work with. However, it has a loose twist which was easily split with a crochet hook and, although it hasn’t pilled yet, it was starting to ‘fur’ while I was working with it. Despite the Semco brand name, I’m wondering how long the finished jumper will wear before it has to be consigned to home/garden wear only.
I am a beginner at crochet so I purchased 10 of these in different colours so I could practice. I used a 4mm and the yarn was so thin and kept splitting and slipping off my hook. I thought I would use a 3.5mm and the same thing happened, so I tried a 3mm, and the same thing happened again. It would split, fall off the hook, and get caught on the hook. I thought it was because I am a beginner so I thought it was just me and needed practice. However when I was a spotlight I also purchased 8 ply value ball yarns 4 for $10 in one of those packs and as soon as I used the value ball yarns I realised it's not me, the semco yarns are just terrible! I don't think they are even 8 ply even though the packets say they are? I don't think they are even 8 ply even though the packets say they are? When I used the value ball yarns with a 4mm they glided so easily and didnt get stuck or fray, and they are also 8 ply but they are fuller and thicker. If you want my advice, buy the value ball packets $10 for 4 colours. Quality is really good. The semco yarns are so bad that they only way I can use them now is if I make something with two colours doubling up the yarn and using two yarn colours side by side, just to add thickness.
I love shopping at spotlight. The online experience is relaxing, the website is easy to use and all products give a good description and are high quality and you can take your time to choose. Love it, Thankyou spotlight.
A really nice acrylic yarn for children's jumper - Stallion is sof t and comes up beautifully when knitted on my LK150.The colours are really nice, I have recently navy, grey, red, black and white, and all have a great depth of colour.
