Sennheiser CX True Wireless Earbuds - Black (508973)

The product "works", but for the price I was expecting a lot more. The sound quality is quite miserable, not really good for listening to anything with nuance. The microphone is effectively useless. Maybe in a completely silent room you could manage a low-quality call, but any interference (even just a regular street or a gentle breeze) will ruin your call. Basically a main feature does not work at all, which is quite sad considering there are plenty of wireless options that manage to have an effective microphone. Also, and this is subjective, but I found them quite uncomfortable. I got used to it, but still my ears are sore after using them for 20 minutes. The sound was good, to begin with but it is difficult to pair the earbuds to anything after the initial connection. Have lost the ability to pair with my phone several times and have paired a few times only to get no sound coming out. When pairing it is difficult to get both earbuds to pair at the same time, and since the earbuds are difficult to get into pairing mode (the instructions do not work) I am often left with only one usable earbud. This problem is so bad that I am considering throwing away the earbuds after only owning them for a few weeks.Often I find myself with only one earbud working at a time and need to reset pairings. Good sound quality, but lacking in other areas.

I’ve had many ear buds and headphones at various price points and these are certainly one of if not the best in terms of sound quality. However that is about the only thing it does well. While quality is important it’s performance in other areas makes this not so good especially at the price.Two major drawbacks:1. Battery life is no where near the 9 hours as stated. Ironically you can download an app to customise whether the headset gives voice prompts or tone prompts or turn them off completely but it does not enable you to customise the loudness of these. If you leave the voice on you will get the polite English lady (after your 4 to 5 hours) yelling in your ear “low power!” or if set on tone only an ear shattering triple ping.Other than that the app allows you to customise the sound equalisation at various frequencies as well as customise the command mapping (eg. What the headset does if you double tap the left ear bud, etc. ). Personally I don’t really care about that stuff but some might and it’s pretty intuitive on the app, not too finicky.Overall not great, and considering the price point, exceedingly mediocre.

Great sound, good battery life

Purchased these about a month ago while they were on sale and I am sure glad that I did. The sound these IEM'S produce is excellent for the price. Nice deep, rich bass, clean and clear mids with enough sparkle in the highs to keep everything well balanced. I am no audiophile by any means, but I do have ears that enjoy good quality sound and these produce just that. They are not noise cancelling, but to be honest they do isolate from the external noise very well when I go for a walk, so much so that I really don't need noise cancelling. The companion app is very well laid out and easy to understand and the equalizer has enough to adjust the sound to my preference without being over complicated. They connect to my Pixel 7 with absolutely no issues and I get roughly 7-1/2 to 8 hours playback from the IEM's on a single charge using the APTX codec with absolutely no disconnects. I have absolutely no discomfort while wearing these IEM's for at least 4 hours at a time and have never had one come loose in my ears while working or going for a walk. I am enjoying these so much that now I am looking at the Sennheiser Momentum 3 IEM's, because if these are this good the Momentum 3 should be amazing. All in all these are really good quality IEM's and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for really good quality sound at a reasonable price.

Sennheiser has been a top reliable audio company for a long time and I have plenty of their products and will continue to use them.I just upgraded from the CX 400BT because I like new technology and a few other reasons.- These have a 2 hour longer batter life span which for me is key because I travel a lot and use my headphones for music and calls.- They actually have a water splash rating of IPX4 versus no protection.- Now I haven’t tested this and do not intend to but there is comfort in knowing they are somewhat protected against water and sweat from exercising.- CX400 wouldn’t allow independent listening so now I can use either right or left versus just one. The highs are cleaner, and higher. The bass is More Full, giving you a bigger presence, filling in the areas where the precision of the driver before, sounded very precise but lacked ummf, These remedy that. The lack of ANC is not that noticeable.They fit in my ear comfortably and come with a few different sized ear pieces for more customization. The fit on these, is the same as the first pair. At first they feel snug, and secure, after about thirty minutes, you recognize they are there, and one hour in, they are uncomfortable. They seal great, and go into my ear canal, perfectly. It is the circumference of them that give me a problem. That snug feeling gives was to pressure, even after wearing them for over twelve hours.The Smart control app works pretty well although sometimes I have a hard time connecting to it with my earbuds. I like that I can change the sound modes to three unique presets…or make my own.I wish I had the ability to put it on a charging pad versus having to plug it in.I think these are very affordable for the quality you are getting.

So this a true review from an audiophile. I had my mind set on momentum 2 or the 1000mx4’s but bit the bullet on this one. I can’t stress how good this underdog sounds.Couple things I want to point out:1. Out of the box it might sound a bit off with no significant lows but if you turn up the bass in the app you are looking at a beast at half the price.2. The ear caps is what makes it a make or break deal. If it doesn’t fit try the smaller size ear caps. I went with the supplies small size (oddly shaped ear)The bass on this lil gem is insane to a point that it gives a run for the money for my Sony 1000mx3 which has a larger driver and costs twice as much.The lows and mids are crisp and to the point where I wasn’t able to find a fault. It is bass heavy if you know how to tweak the EQ on the app.Touch controls on the bud are responsive and fit well in my ear which not many ear buds do coz of how they are shaped. I would say for everyday workout they won’t fall off your ear unless you throw a fit and are on the floor.Microphone quality is way better than the muffled noise you get from other buds like Sony’s mx’s or Apple AirPods.Noise leakage is negligible to a point where you don’t have to forcefully make everyone hear what you are listening too.Sound stage is perfect in my opinion.Extremely content with the purchase.Don’t believe me check some reviews on You tube ..

Sennheiser CX wireless - Packs a punch....

The Sennheiser CX wireless earbuds deliver a powerful experience on all fronts, which was unexpected. Not only are these compact earbuds reasonably priced, but they also offer excellent reliability, various ear tip options, and superb portability. While sound quality is subjective, my years of using Sennheiser products affirm that these earbuds are exceptional for on-the-go use.

for the one month it worked great

I bought these because the jbl vibe 200 had a bunch of issues and eventually stopped working. After one month these had the exact same issue one earbud won't connect anymore. So for longevity, these are awful. The fit was always kind of uncomfortable and at some times a little painful despite the size of bud. When you put these in you will look like Frankenstein cause these pop so far out of your head. the case was pretty bulky and not comfortable to carry in any pocket. for the good: these have a great battery life, when they say 20+ hours it's more like 13 but still, way more than you would need. the sound quality is really good, there is minimal lag between videos and the actual sound. I’ve owned two pairs of these headphones within the past year, and unfortunately, both have let me down. While the sound quality and battery life are solid, the durability is a major issue. My first pair stopped working after a few months and was replaced. Now, my second pair has suffered the same fate, needing repair after just 3-4 months of use. For a product at this price point, this kind of reliability is unacceptable, so I can’t recommend them.
