Been using this little gem on a BodhranI previously used an SM57 on a standThis little Sennheiser has a lovely crisp top end and a warm bottom endNo feedback from this mic and needs very little bass on the mixerReally happy with my purchaseUsing it at all my gigs now 👍👍

I use these on stage and in the practice studio on my congas. Since they are small and compact with mounting clips that eliminate the need for bulky space consuming stands they clean up the clutter and help in keeping the stage looking tidy and organized. The mounting clips seem a little flimsy and could use a little more adjustment range but they work and have never come undone while in use. The mics work great and deliver clear sound bringing out tones that, when playing unplugged, are masked by all the other instruments or are otherwise hard to discern with the naked ear. A few adjustments on the equalizer and my drums sound great. I am going to get one more 604 to finish replacing the 57's I had been using. I wish it had been available in a four pack.

i needed a smaller size mic for amplifying my snare drum. I kept hitting the other mic I had and it was constantly in the way of my playing. This mic is much smaller and doesn't get in the way of playing.

I needed a new microphone for my wind instruments. I decided to give it a try and paid an extra $20 to get it here the next day. Not only did it take 4 days to get to me it did not fit my oboe, clarinet, or saxophone with out modifications. Musicians friend should try applications before they list them on the site. Musicians Friend did honor the return price and shipping costs so they did square it with me. I then bought a Shure PGA98H from them and I am happy with it.
I have recently purchased the Sennheiser E604 x3 to replace my Shure SM57 set up on my Ludwig Classic Maple Toms. I give the E604’s five stars as they are not only equal to the SM57’s in terms of performance but the fact they are clip on mics makes them so much versatile to use. No more clutter with mic stands, these small size mics are also robust and fit for purpose. PMT delivered this product quickly and with superb service.
A killer mic. I have used them for years. Great on Snare and toms. Have a house gig so I got 6 for my production in club. Also have a 901 for kick. Many compliments on my drum sound. I used to be a drummer but hated the way our guy made them sound. So he says you should run sound. Fired him took over sound and have not looked back. I love doing audio. Different band every Friday and Saturday.
Metal casing on a 604!!! Who would have thought?! What a great upgrade.
I have been playing music for over 20 years, and have been recording for 15. I've tried all of the dynamic mics that people talk about for recording toms. I've used the 57, Beta 57, i5, MD 421, and all other sorts of mics that people tell you are "go to" or "classic". The 57s, Betas, and i5 have little character and require more post-processing, in my opinion. The MD 421 sounds good, but it is terrible for overhead bleedthrough. These e604s, however, are great in both areas. They are nowhere near as noisy as the MD 421, and the background noise is relatively flat -- it's easier to fit in the mix without cymbal bleed sounding harsh after a tom hit. Further, the sound of the e604s is impressive right out of the gate. I run a recording studio with a buddy, and we've ... Further, the sound of the e604s is impressive right out of the gate. I run a recording studio with a buddy, and we've had some terribly-maintained drum kits come in. I'm always blown away how these mics can make even the worst, oldest tom heads sound like a professional drum recording. I've bought more of these and will likely be using these as my tom mics until I can afford something way more expensive. Until then -- everyone who records drums with us leaves happy with their tom sounds. I definitely recommend these for toms. (I have not used them elsewhere, so I can't comment on other applications.)
I use this product for my toms and floor tom in my drum set up. You can purchase them as a 3 pack or individually. I do reccomend this mics for several reasons. The first is the small and not intruding shape as also easy to place to avoid hitting them when you play. Second the crisp and good quality sound and with a great range for the small capture screen they have. And last but not least well builded and resistant. I used them also for recording and i was very pleased with the outcome. Overall great mic for drums or percussion.
Very pleased with my purchase easily clips on to the snare and another handy clip on the back to support the cable. Fully adjustable for height and angle for placing in the best position for recording. Nice clear sound and doesn’t pick up too much noise from the hi hat or crash.
